Erin says
My dad is my biggest male influence in my life, he is my hero!
Amy Smith says
My father, of course. He always used to tell me that I was pretty, but that being smart and kind were more important than being pretty. Now I tell my DD the same thing! He is also responsible for my choice in husband. He was the example of the perfect father, and so I knew what I wanted in a life partner. My husband is as good a dad to our kids as my dad was to me!
Cristina says
My father, for sure. And now that I’m a parent, I find myself thinking about so many of the things he taught me. He’s the best!

I am totally in love with all of the new releases for the month of April! I can’t wait until midnight!!! The most influential male figure in my life has been my father; he has always been there for me and I know he always will be. When I got down on myself he would always be there to encourage me pick myself up and move on. So thank you dad, for all that you have given me, I love you.
Kim R. says
My dad (but of course!). He’s a simple, no frills, quiet, but opinionated guy. He doesn’t express himself well, but that makes the times he does do so all the more meaningful to me….
Jen Barkdull says
My husband. He ALWAYS puts family first and is there for me and the kids. Plus whenever anyone needs help, he’s the first to volunteer. He’s such a good man. ♥
Angie says
My husband, his kindness, support, understanding and strength have carried us both thru some very tough years. Love does conquer all…cheesy as that saying is =)
Laura Isham says
Oh…..this is such a toss up between my husband and my father. Their personalities are very similar, and I love them both so much. I knew since I was little that I wanted to marry someone just like my dad….and I did!
Susan Beauchaine says
Oh, by far my Father, my Daddy. Actually he passed away 10 years ago, today. I still miss him horribly, but he is in a better place! Thank God. He worked his tail off to support his family and even while he was dying and very sick he NEVER complained. I am proud he is my Daddy! I LOVE him VERY much!
Thanks for letting me share that
Susan
Stephanie Klauck says
Without a doubt, my husband.
He makes me such a better person….love him!
jennifer says
My husband. he has taught me to be a more positive person. He has been such a blessing in my life. He is a wonderful person and I don’t know what I would do without him in my life!!!
Laurie Hunt says
Wow, this takes me back. Mine would be the Supervisor that I had when I was a co-op student during college. He worked with me on not being so negative about myself and really helped me grow self confidence while I worked for him. I still hear his voice in my head today if I say something negative about myself.
Heather J. says
My father – he is such an inspiration and I just love him dearly. Heather J.
jamie nania says
My father. He is the hardest worker I’ve ever met. The whole time growing up he always worked two jobs and to this day I’ve never heard him complain about work. He’s a great father and a great grandfather to my three children. He holds a very special place in my heart.
Lauren M. says
Wow…I have been blessed with some wonderful men in my life, but the one that has been the most influential has been my husband. He makes me want to be a better person, as cliche as that sounds. He is so giving with his time and energy to the boys. He’s such a great dad and an amazing partner. He is a true blessing to me.
Deb Else says
My dad was, and is, my greatest male influence. He gave me the core values I passed on to my kids and which I strive to live by every day.
DanelleB says
My husband. He didn’t have the greatest of childhoods, but has made a great name for himself. He is someone a lot of people look up to in his profession.
steph zerbe says
The most influential male figure in my life is my husband. He makes me WANT to be a better person. He is a quiet, even keeled, no fuss kind of guy. He enjoys his home life, his son and his job. He is never wanting for anything and never gets caught up in drama. He is everything I wish I could be. I love that man!
And thanks again for a kick-ass BOY release!!!
Sue D says
Definitely my dad–he taught me to be the best I could be and always supported my endeavors.
Kristy Smith says
Wow… well I’ve been blessed with many really influential men in my life, but the most influential would have to have been my Uncle Chris. I was named after him, and when I was really small I’d visit him in his classroom at school because I wanted to be a teacher. We also sang together for years in our church choir and since he was unmarried and without kids, he was a LOT like a second father to me. He always took time to be a major part of my life, and I couldn’t wait until the day when we could trade teaching stories as I knew I’d follow in his footsteps. Unfortunately, he passed away unexpectedly before I finished college and I never got the chance to share my teaching experiences with him… but I know that he is there for my every day helping to guide me to be a better teacher. =) I still feel our connection and though he’s gone I know he influences my decisions and actions every day and I’m a much better teacher and person because of him! =)
cynthia karkut says
My husband. He is just amazing. He’s so smart and funny and so much more spiritual than I am. He is my rock and I would not make a decision without asking him. He is my soul mate.
Thanks
Jennifer S. says
It’s hard to pick one but I’d have to say my dad. He has taught me how to be a whole person. He has instilled his Christian faith in me and I’m inspired by his story of coming to America. He is a hard worker and has taught me to never give up. I love my dad.
Rachelle says
My Dad is the biggest male influence in my life. I was always a daddy’s girl. I followed him around learning how to fix things around the house, build things, work on my car, and hunt. I love that he never treated me different b/c I was a girl. He just let me be who I was, and taught me what I needed to know along the way.
stampinmoe says
Believe it or not, it was not my Dad. While he was great… my boyfriend (Now husband) took me to his church as a teenager, and his Sun. School teacher (Denny) ended up being my first softball coach (I joined the church team). To this day I think he played a big role in my life, and I’ve been fortunate to have been able to tell him (although I don’t think he realizes the scope of his role).
Monika/buzsy says
It would be my husband. He is my rock and the reason I am who I am. He knows me so well and brings the best out of me… and he loves me just the way I am. :o)
Amanda Mueller says
My dad, things have not always been easy between us, but when needed he was there. He would do anything for me or form my family. I love him!
Deena (honugurl16) says
My dad. He encouraged me to play sports and practiced with me for hours on end. He taught me to be tough, independent, and driven. He taught me to speak up for myself and those who weren’t as strong. My dad is amazing.
Hlee says
The most influential male figure in my life definitely has been my father. He is truly a person full of love, integrity, compassion…everything that I hope my sons will become someday. There is no one in the world who is quite like my father, and I don’t think there will ever be anyone who could compare to him. He has taught me so much about life and shown me what unconditional love is. My Dad is definitely my hero.
Becky C says
My dad. He is so patient, and he can fix ANYTHING!!!!
Sue says
My father – he immigrated to the U.S. when he was just 9 years old and had to restart school in kindergarten as he knew no English. His family was very poor yet he became a business owner in the U.S. and gave my mom, brother and I everything we ever needed in life. He was really an amazing man and I miss him every day.
Jen R says
I’m going to have to say my dad. He’s fun, caring, and the reason why I love heavy metal and rock & roll music!
Jessica Davis says
This would be my dad for making sure to share his love of music and talent in music down to each of his kids in different ways.
Kelly says
Easy answer – my dad. It started when he coached my softball team as a kid. Lots of teaching life’s lessons! The one lesson that comes to mind is the whole team player attitude and boy has that served me well.
Deanne Rehmer says
My father. He was a very hard worker during some very difficult times. Even though he did not have a lot of education, he was interested in learning about just about everything.
Amy O says
Well that would have to be my husband. He is an amazing man, and I feel privilged to be a part of his life everyday. This question has reminded me that I need to go tell him that I love him right now. Thanks!
Noreen says
My father. By his example he showed me how to be the kind of person I wanted to strive to be. He was always there for us.
Susan T says
My father. He died 5 years ago and I still think of him every day. He was kind and compassionate and the most giving person I have ever know. It makes me smile knowing that of piece of him lives in me. Thanks for asking and the chance to win. I would be nice to win this month in the honor of my beloved father.
Deanne says
My husband…his laid back attitude helps me keep my type A personality in check
KariLynn says
My dad was for me. He was an entrepreneur who worked extremely hard his whole life. I have my strong work ethic and warped sense of humor from my dad. I miss having him in my life. But so glad that he was my dad.
Michele L. says
Without a doubt my father. Mainly because my entire family is made up of females. He’s just always been there for his three girls, whether it was a ballet recital, or he would take us fishing in the summer. He was tough on us but for all the right reasons. Now that I had a little girl, he’s always there for the little princess too!
Kathy McEntyre says
It would have to be my dad. He is such a wonderful man. He taught me all of the right things in life. He is 83 now and still going strong. I love him dearly. My wonderful husband is right up there also. I can’t imagine my life without either one of them.
Rochelle Washington says
I would have to say that my husband has been the most influential male figure in my life. We got married at 24 and we have grown together but, he has really been a strong, supportive and PATIENT husband. I couldn’t ask for more. He’s the bomb!
Jennifer T says
Hands down, it’s my Dad. He always said we could do anything we set our minds to and has always been very encouraging.
Bobbie says
My husband. Supportive and a great daddy!
Kendra says
Definitely my dad! He’s so humble and real and not afraid to show emotion! I know a lot of men hate to cry…or show any emotion for that matter…in front of other people but my dad is not like that. He’s always telling me how much he loves me and how special I am and it’s so nice to have someone like that in my life! He’s so supportive of everything I do too. You can never hear it enough right?! He’s shown me how to show the same love toward other people in my life!
Jan in Tucson says
My son has influenced my life more than even my wonderful husband and great father. I’m so inspired to achieve more and be a better person because of him and I thought these roles would be in reverse. Thought I would inspire him to achieve more and be a better person. Gotta love a kid like that…I DO!!
Rachel B says
I would have to say that my dad is the most influential male figure in my life. He is the one who always tries to show me how to do what is right, even when it is hard. He helps me when my husband is busy and loves to help with my kids. He is an inspiration!
Beth B says
My dad has been the biggest male influence in my life. Before he died, he said that he had NO regrets. How many people can say that – after 81 years?? That is the way he lived his life, and I hope that in the end, I can say the same thing.
Julie Learned says
My father has been my greatest male influence. He was a provider, a family man, a loving dad all around. I’m very proud of him!
Julie L.
Karen P says
My Dad by far has been the biggest influence in my life. I was Daddy’s girl from a little girl until now. My Dad just pasted away in January on my birthday. I really miss him but know he is up in heaven enjoying the reward he so earned.
Jen Arkfeld says
My good ol’ grandpa! He’s now gone, but he was the only male figure in my life for 18 years. He was kind, a great friend, a caring man, and a wonderful husband to my grandma! Makes me teary just thinking about him!
Cindy Boney says
I would say it’s been my husband. He has done many things for me such as giving me a backbone to stand up for myself, believing in me, encouraging me to strive for my dreams. All the while, he has selflessly denied himself some dreams of his own. I’m blessed to have him.
melissa says
My father. He’s the best! Nothing more can be said!
Kara says
My dad has taught me so many things. Now that I’m grown up I realize how many things I do just like him. He’s so wonderful and I’m lucky to have him. Too bad it’s too late to call him and tell him this. Tomorrow…
Dana W says
unfortunately i haven;t had any. My father hasn’t been much of a dad. While i have a grandfather still here and one recently passed, who have been in my life, i wouldn’t say they have influenced me. The only one who really has is my mom, she has always and i know will always be there for me and has help guide me along!
Melissa Sibert says
My dad has truly been the most influential person in my life. He is a great man of integrity, faith, and honor. He is hard working and has always done a good job of providing for my mom and I when I was growing up. I am blessed to see the wisdom he is getting to pass on to my two sons. He was always the role model I wanted my potential husband to be like when I grew up. I married a wonderful man who is also a man of integrity, faith, and honor, and is wonderful with our children.
Kim Heggins says
My father…he has been gone about 25 years now but I always remember all of the good that he taught my sister and I.
Karen says
My husband, who has been my best friend and biggest supporter for nearly 40 years in addition to being a fabulous father!
Teresa says
My father who has worked hard to provide for his family since he was a little boy and lost his father. He’s the one who has never, ever given up on me and taught me to laugh and enjoy every single day! He has never wanted anything for himself other than to see his family have all they need. Thankfully I found a husband who holds these same values and is passing them on to our children.
Kathy Mc says
WIthout a doubt, it would have to be my Dad. He taught me so much about right from wrong right up to the day he died. The most important value he reiterated over and over again was this: When applying for a job, always consider the benefits as they are so very important, especially insurance. How true and valuable is that? Funny thing is my husband is so very much like my Dad was in so many ways ~ so very influential to my life!
Mary M. says
That would be my boyfriend because to me there is no man more wonderful than him.
Karen James says
My husband. He takes me as I am and makes me feel like he is the lucky one in our relationship. He’s made me believe I am good enough.
Babies- Beth says
Without a doubt and no questions asked: my dh. He is the most compassionate, nurturing, funny, sexy sweetheart I have ever met. He talks politics and tell bad jokes in one sentence. He volunteers in the community, and keeps our house going. He does the groceries and fixes the cars. He brings to work the things I have forgotten, and kisses me when he hands them over. He tells me to enjoy my day and means it- he asks me when I get home if I enjoyed the day, and listens to me if I have to tell him I did not. I could keep going, but I think I reached my character limit, lol. I don’t have to win anything, I already have him, and that is all I need.
Meghan says
Without a doubt my husband has been the most influential male figure in my life. I am a better person for having him in my life!
Susan P says
That’s a tough one. My dad of course was a huge influence in my life for my first 25 years. He taught me to laugh at myself and have fun. Then, once I got married, my husband has taken over that role as my greatest male influence. He has helped shape me to be who I am today. We got married at 18 and 19 and have been married over 35 years now – I can hardly remember not being married to him. Two wonderful men! I am blessed. 🙂
ValerieC says
It seems cliche but, definantly my Dad. What an amazing man he is! He’s my hero, my best friend, my mentor, and my rock. I see or talk to him everyday. My daughter has been sick for many years now and my Dad picks up the slack with my other children. I could go on and on about my Dad. I love him so very much!!!
Ashley Nguyen Newell says
My husband. He is strong, kind and completely mild mannered. It amazes me to see how much he can get done quietly and calmly especially since I’m the opposite!
Priscilla from California says
My father was the most influential male role model in my life. He taught me the values I have now and I’m proud of them.
Ericka says
The most influential male figure in my life by far has been my husband. We started dating at 18 (we’re now 32). He pushes me harder and believes in me more than any other person I know. He loves me unconditionally.
Nita says
I would have to say my grandfather. His deep rooted faith, love of family and music are all very important to me as well. Now, he is well into his eighties and he is just delighted when the extended family comes together for a celebration. It makes my heart smile to see him so happy with his family.
Debbie says
My father has been the most influential male figure in my life (followed very closely by my husband). My father is sort of a rags to riches kind of guy. He was born in a shack to a sharecropping father and mother. He is 78 years old now and has had successful careers in the grocery and real estate business. But he is still a kid at heart. You should have seen his hat at last year’s Easter bonnet contest!!
Kelly in Canada says
Absolutely my dad. I am the first born and while my dad would never say it out loud, there was always an unspoken suggestion as I was groing up that my dad had hoped I would be a boy. When that didn’t happen, my dad took it in stride and taught me everything I know about sports. He took me to hockey games, football games, the golf course. By the time I was a teenager, I could talk intelligently to any male on the planet about sports. I impressed a lot of guys that way and I have my dad to thank!
Deb C says
That’s kind of a toss-up. When I was growing up it was no doubt my dad. He worked so hard to give us all of what we needed and a lot of what we wanted.
But now, I’d have to say my husband. He’s the most selfless man I’ve ever known. He’s a fabulous, generous, loving, amazing husband and just the best dad I could have ever imagined to our children and grandchildren. He rocks my world.
Lisa F. says
Absolutely, without a doubt, it would be my husband! I love him with all my heart. He is a great father, a great man of God, and a wonderful, wonderful husband. He has taught me so much and is so supportive of me in so many areas of my life.
penny p. says
I wasn’t close with my father and have no brothers so would have to say Ray. He is a coworker and is like the big brother I never had but always wish I did!
Leigh Ann R. says
A mentor, who taught me so many things, really helped shape my world view. I’m the person I am today because of all I learned from him.
Leslie Rodriguez says
My dad is the most influential person in my life. Despite a hard childhood, he migrated to this country and has lived his life to the fullest. He always has a happy disposition and makes SO many friends everywhere he goes. He’s the social butterfly that I can never be. He’s the best daddy in the world!!
Anna Adamiak says
Without any doubt, my father. He is the most kind, hard working and full-of-integrity person that I know.
Gabriela says
Great question! I have a great father, simply wonderful. He is kind and generous, smart and sweet, he is the perfect human being. He showed me what kind of man I should marry and how I should be treated in life. I am lucky to be his daughter.
Kristi Lewis says
I want to say my dad but honestly, it would have to be my great grandfather. He was such a righteous and Godly man and I learned so much about, well, everything. He saved me from drowning when I was young and used to make me sugar toast while we watched The Peoples Court after school. It was quite an emotional time for me after his passing during my teen years. He is still greatly missed.
Emily Leiphart says
It has to be my father who left China all on his own 66 years ago at the age of 16 to come to North America and struggle for a life of his own as well as to make money and sponsor his entire family to this continent. Growing up, my father worked nights to support his family while taking care of my sister and I during the day when my mother worked. All of my best childhood memories are of things my father did with us. He’s been through so much, struggled through adversity and is a cancer survivor. My father is a truly amazing man and I really look up to him. I love him to bits.
nancy l. says
It would be a tie between my dad and the pastor of our church when I was a girl. My dad had (has) a chronic illness that left him hospitalized for a lot of my childhood. Our pastor stepped in as my ‘other dad’ when he was needed. He and his wife incorporated me into their family and treated me like one of their own when my dad was unavailable. My own father was a hardworking man of integrity who led by example. He was and still is my hero.
jamie nania says
My father. He is the hardest worker I’ve ever met. The whole time growing up he always worked two jobs and to this day I’ve never heard him complain about work. He’s a great father and a great grandfather to my three children. He holds a very special place in my heart.
Dawn says
My Dad – we butted heads a lot when I was growing up, but now that I am older I truly appreciate how hard he worked (sometimes 2-3 jobs) to make sure that I could go to college (something he was not given the opportunity to do). I would not be where I am today without him!
Christina MacLaren says
As much as my father has influenced me in many wonderful ways, my husband is the man who, more than anyone else, has made me the woman I am today. I just wouldn’t be the same person without him in my life!
Suzanne says
My dad. Whether it was through what he said or what he did, I always knew that I should aim high, that I should give 100%, that I should stand by my word, and that I would always have a place I could call home no matter what.
Kris says
The Pastor of the church we first attended as a newly married couple influenced me greatly. He mentored both my husband and I and was the most gracious person I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing
Cindy S. says
My husband. He is a wonderful father and husband. 🙂
Sandi says
My dad, well stepfather really, because he married my mom, and made an instant family for me and my sister. He treated and loved us like we were his flesh and blood. Even after he and my mom had two more girls, I always felt like I was his first kid. 🙂
Jenna Hipps says
My dear husband has been the most influential in my life. He is a great example to me and is a great support in my life. He has helped me to be a better mother, daughter, and friend. I truly would be lost without him.
Cara Booher says
My husband…from the very first date we had. He always supports me, makes me laugh and puts me and our daughters first. He is a wonderful father and my best friend. I am lucky to have him!
Becs Attwood says
I guess this is going to be a pretty standard answer, but definitely my husband. He is such a great example of a decent, hard-working, man that is so rare in this world. His support, and his unique view of life, gives me the confidence to face the world every day.
nina says
My father. Although we have certainly had our differences, I know that he instilled his love and respect for nature in me, and I hope to do the same for my 2 boys!
Connie Gregoire says
Without a doubt, my wonderful father. My mom died when I was ten and he took over raising three children. He is the kindest most thoughtful man I know. He has and always will be an example to me.
Shawn Wenrich says
I had an outstanding manager several years ago that truly changed my outlook on my work life. He came in to work early every day, he always had a smile for everyone and he was truly dedicated to the company and the customer. I credit him with helping me get the right attitude to achieve the progress I’ve made in my career and my successes.
Dawn says
My stepfather has been my greatest male influence. I am who I am because he is who he is.
bridgette says
My father. We named our first son after him, and then the middle name of my second son is my father’s surname. He taught me to hold my own, to take care of myself by teaching me how to change my own oil and a flat tire, and that men can like window shopping (we didn’t have much money growing up), baking, and chick flicks too.
Kristen says
I met my husband when I was 19 and we have been married for 13 years. But the first 19 years, my father taught me so much. How to treat others, the importance of hard work, and to make family a priority. He made me the person that my husband fell in love with. These 2 men have shown me who I want to strive to be…(my grandfather was awesome too!)
Kim H says
Definitely my dad. He taught me that it was ok to question things, including authority, as long as I was respectful and was willing to accept any consequences. He taught me to speak up for those who couldn’t and to respect others’ opinions and beliefs. He supported me in everything I did, regardless of whether it was what he wanted me to do. He has been gone four years now and I still miss him every day.
Betty Sue says
My step father was the male with the most influence in my life. My real father died when I was eight and my step father raised me as his own!! He taught me so much and then he taught my husband and children so much. He is not with us now but he will always live in our hearts!!
Candy says
My dad! He’s been gone a year, and I miss him every day.
Becky says
My brother. He always pushed me to be better and I really respect him.
Linda W says
Absolutely my maternal Grandfather. My parents and I lived with my grandparents. Dad traveled for his job so often that Grandpa was my father figure. He supported me in everything, from school work to music to art. After his death we found a scrapbook and journals filled with all sorts of things about me. I will always treasure them. And by the way, he was a printer. That’s why I love the smell of ink!
Susie says
My dad is the best! He would do anything for me and loves me unconditionally!! Love ya dad!
Lisa says
The most influential male in my life was my dad. He was always there for me whenever I needed him. He always taught me with love. Since he is in Korea, I can’t meet him often, but I miss him so much and wish to see him one more day. Thank you for the chance to remind my dad tonight.
Nancy Wolff says
That’s easy, my husband. We were childhood sweethearts and after 45 years he is still my sweetheart. He’s the best husband, friend, father.
Paula I says
That’s easy…my father in-law. He is the most gracious, caring, loyal and honest man I’ve ever meet. He showed me the true meaning of being a Dad and the head of a household. He led by example and was a great role model for this three sons and two daughters. In a time when only the men worked, he worked long and hard to allow his wife to be able to stay home with their 5 children. Many times after long days, you’d find him in the driveway working on the family car doing all the repairs himself because money was tight. You would never hear a negative word or complaint from him, he was just viewed it as being his responsibility and did whatever had to be done. He was and still is, so very kind, polite and upbeat. A true gentlemen. I thank him for the great job he did with his children and for giving me a great man that I get to call my husband.
Sandy Vincent says
My dad first, then my husband. My dad taught me to love reading and passed down his creative genes…he is honest and hardworking, with a kinda gruff exterior, but he’s a marshmallow inside! My husband is by far the best hubby a woman could ask for. He is kind, loving, hardworking and very supportive in all I do. I’ve been blessed with two great men in my life!
Cheryl SD says
My father was the most influential man in my life. I feel so blessed to have had such a loving and happy man for my father. He was always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. He touched so many people with his down to earth everyday goodness. His spirit lives on within me, even though he left this existence nearly 15 years ago. I love you Daddy!
Sue in Grapevine says
My husband; by marrying him I entered a whole new world. Not just different expectations of how life would go in a family where EVERYONE went to college & had more opportunities, but a life filled w/a greater sense of honor & what constitutes proper behavior.
I am a better woman for having married him & I like to think that I have brought him joy & acceptance that he never knew before.
Laura Boyd says

The most influential male in my life was my grandfather. He just passed away to Lung Cancer last month. He showed me that no matter what you have to laugh & feel blessed for what you are handed in life. That we will have pain but if we have faith our Lord will give us the strength we need & feel more love because of it. He gave me the love of being curious, that if I wanted to know how something was done to find out the what’s and hows I remember one of the 1st gifts he gave me when I was little was a set of encyclopedias & he would come over on the weekends and quiz me on what I had learned. I miss my granddaddy but I hope to continue to make him proud and pass down what I learned from him to my children.

I can’t count how many times I would wake up in the morning and have a single rose or gerber daisy on my night stand. He was the person who could light up a room with his smile and his dimple.

My Dad, for sure! He was always there for us and it was from him that I got my artistic creativity. My Daddy died of cancer when I was eight, so the men in my life became my granddaddy and my mom’s brother, Uncle Don. When Don was a teenager in the 50’s, he contracted polio and has been in a wheelchair my whole life. He has never let his disability stop him from doing what needed to be done or what he wanted to do. Wow thats a hard one. Until adulthood, I wasn’t all that close with my dad, who suffers from PTSD from his service in Vietnam. In his absence, my two grandfathers and three uncles combined would be my greatest male influence. I always said I wanted a husband who was all of them rolled into one – and I think I found him! We celebrate our 10th anniversary this year, so I think he’s pretty awesome too!
Kristy says
I was raised by my grandparents and my Papaw has always been my number one fan! He thinks I am the smartest, prettiest, and most talented gal on the planet. I know better, but it sure is nice to have someone who loves you that much! Now I have the pleasure of watching him with my children.

My father died when I was three. I never really had a good male influence in my life until my husband came along….15 yrs. later! We married young, learned & grew up together and we’re still together 41 years later. He taught me unconditional love, trust and has always been there to encourage me every step of the way. My Dad. He wasn’t raised in a home where his father spoke about his feelings or emotions and never heard his father tell him he loved him growing up. So he decided that his kids would never experience that. He told me he loved me and was proud of me every day growing up. Even in high school he would come in to tell me goodnight and tell me again he loved me. Now I am married and have kids of my own, but every time I see my Dad he gives me a big hug, tells me he loves me and is proud of me. I am so blessed!!
Christine Rogus says
I have to say that my son’s are the most influential in my life. Although my husband is right up there with them. Both my son’s challenge me everyday to be the best I can. One has mild Autism and he learns differently than my other son. It is so AWESOME to watch them each learn different ways, but I have to tell ya, it was very difficult to get my mind to learn how to help teach my son. He is amazing and has blown his goals sky high. God has taught me so many things, I thank him each day for my life.
mandy says
I have a lot of great male influences in my life – my dad, my husband, even my 2 young sons – but the one I whose influence I try to be most consciously aware of is my grandfather. There have been manyt times since his recent passing that I have really realized just how special he was, and hope I can instill the same values in my family as he did in his.
Julie says
Without question, my dad. He is the kindest, gentlest person I know. He has been a wonderful father, father-in-law and grandfather. He is the original ‘Mr. Mom’, growing up with both my parents working full-time, my dad always pitched in…laundry, cleaning, cooking…he did it all! At 81 he is still doing it all–my mom is very lucky! I am so blessed to have him around and living in the same city. He is the kind of man I hope my sons become.
laurlynn says
Of course my father, for many reasons.
scrapthat/dolly says
I’d have to say my Dad. After my Mom passed away he and I got to be very close before that he worked shifts so I didn’t really “know” him all that well. My Grandfather. He always treated my Grandmother like a queen and although he was strict on rules and what you did, you could tell he did it because he cared. He did so much to give back to the community and lived and absolutely amazing life.
Katie {choc0holic} says
Without a doubt, my dad. He had a rather severe heart attack a little over a year ago and I was faced with the thought of losing him much sooner than anticipated. Because he lives across the country from me, all I could do was pray and hope. I also spent a great deal of time reflecting on all that he has done for me, all that he has taught me, and all that I would be left without if he were to pass away. Fortunately my prayers were answered, he is now a ‘bionic man’ of sorts, and I’ve been able to enjoy him for this past year. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to show him my love over this past year.
elena says
my daddy – he really did live the values he wanted to see in his kids.
jaime aldridge says
Hands down…my dad. I feel blessed that I get him as my dad. He is my biggest supporter. He is always there to lend a hand. He is always there to listen or laugh with. He is a kind, generous, helpful, hard-working, down-to-earth kind of guy. He’s a real man’s man but has cried with me on certain occasions! He is a christian but can tell the dirtiest jokes!! He never has anything bad to say about anyone. He is modest and gets embarrased if anyone says good things about him. I can fill a book with all of my wonderful memories of him growing up and teaching me how to ride a bike to how to change the oil in my 1st car. I am so grateful that he’s my dad and my girls have him as a papa. Thanks, Nichole, for doing a masculine theme this month!
Diana Ferralli says
My dad. He is no longer with us, but I remember as a kid, he always took the time to explain things. He was strict, but you always knew where you stood. My step-father was my positive male figure i looked up growing up. It wasn’t until I was an adult that understood and had a relationship with my dad. But having my step-father around during my teen years really helped me realize what a father-daughter relationship should be. Understanding this importance of this role, it was very important when I was looking for a step-father for my children.
nori says

My dad is the most influential male figure in my life. Of his four children I am his only daughter… and I am definitely closer to him than any of my brothers. We have always had a special bond. I feel extremely blessed to have had such a great relationship with my dad. He has taught me so much, and helped to mold me into a woman he could be proud of. :o) Love you Dad!

My Father was my greatest influence. He was larger than life, and the most generous person I have ever known.

My Uncle, who I took care of before he passed on, was the kindest and caring man. My father died when I was ten and Uncle was always there for me. He always had words of wisdom that hold true to this day. His motto: “we” are here to help others no matter how big or small it is.
Amy Zwierz says
My husband is my greatest male influence. He loves me unconditionally. Through my good days, bad days, through my crazy days he is always there, supporting me. No one has ever done that to me.
Wendy ten Hove says
For me, that would also be my dad! When I just turned 16, my mum had a brainbleed and from then, she had to stay in a caring home, paralized on one side and loss of speaking and mixed emotions. My dad has always stood by her, and me! He visits her every evening, brings her home every Sunday, and he is just sooo sweet for her! I truly admire that, not all husbands would have done that, for already 17 years!!! He’s very selfless and caring and I love that! And, running the home then, with just the two of us, we have become very close! So, sorry about the long story 😉 but without a doubt, the answer to this question. Is definitely; my dad!
Hugs, Wendy
Marge Sexton says
My husband has been such a great inspiration in my life. He taught me what Love really means. He loves me, He loves our family, and most importantly, He loves the Lord; and it is evident in his everyday life. He also supports my stamping habit…never complains about what I spend, or the time I enjoy stamping and girlfriends. We have been together for 36 years, and I love him more everyday.
Lindsey Larsen says
Definitely my Dad. He is incredible in every way – compassionate, spiritual, charitable, funny, loving, etc. He traveled a ton when we were kids, but when he was home, he was home-he spent all the time he could with us. I love everything about him!
Heather Mills says
At the risk of sounding like everyone else, my father has definitely been the most influential male in my life. He was the principal and main teacher at the small Christian school I attended and was also my basketball coach in high school. I just couldn’t get away from him. : ) The person I am is most definitely largely because of him and his guidance. Thank you for a fabulous release and all the chances to win such great prizes.

My Dad–he loved me and made me feel so special–not a day goes by that I don’t miss him!

This one made me realize I need more influential men in my life. The only man that I truely know is my husband. We married young me 18 him 19, and will be celebrating our 30th anniversary next year. Yes we have had our ups and downs but I do know that he will always be there for me. I don’t tell him enough how great he is cause he knows it. hahahahaha If I win he will be so surprised that he is my most influential man in my life. Ok even if I don’t win I will tell him. wink wink
Dawn S says
It would be my dad first, followed very closely by my husband. In fact, my husband is very similar to my dad in so many ways. Integrity would be the first word I would use to describe both of them. Both are men of great integrity and that is something I admire so much!!
Dotty says
It would have to be my dad. He taught me to be a strong and independent woman and to work hard for what you want. He was a very special person and I miss him dearly.
Kristin says
I have to cheat a bit, because I’ve been lucky to have two. In my childhood my grandaddy was the most amazing influence. My dad wasn’t around at that point and my mom’s dad was a wonderful man. During my adult years my dad has stepped in and fill that role in a completely fantastic way. I’m a lucky and blessed woman.
Crisanne D. says
My father is an amazing man and has taught me so many things. He is a huge influence in my life. I also learn so much from my husband. He is the man I rely on. He teaches me so much about patience, hope, love and faith. I am a much better person because of him.

This one is easy…my dad for sure. He taught me how to live by living his life and letting me watch. He taught me to sing in the shower (however badly), to be compassionate and to take a real interest in the lives of those around me. My dad had the biggest hands and I miss them so.
AnneH says
Without a doubt it would be my late husband. My Mom and Dad divorced when I was in the third grade so I did not have the support of a father. We were married 39 years when he passed away. That was 16 years ago and I still miss him. My husband was a great father, supporting and loving husband and he was a patriot. He lost a leg in Vietnam and he never complained but kept on going. He made me feel like I was the most important person in the world.
LouAnn says
My father. I was blessed with a wonderful father. The lessons that he and my mom taught us growning up have lasted.
Krishna G says
My six year old son. He is high functioning austic, as of yet does not eat solid foods. I’ve been reading a lot over the last several years how life is a mirror, it has made me release that I don’t like to eat food. Part of that is that I don’t have much of a sense of smell, and so food just doesn’t taste good to me, and I am just realizing, that I don’t feel good when I eat. I am now having tests done to see if I have celiac disease. Without him and the challenges we are going through together, I would never of taken a look at myself like that. And his unconditional love is AMAZING!
Kari Bell says
that’s a toss up between (1) my father who was my protector, my role model, my coach, my comedian, & my cheerleader and (2)my husband who is patient, kind, giving, hard-working, honest, & makes me a better person. i love them both so much!!
Denise says
My dad… he has Multiple Sclerosis and has lived a life of great difficulty but extreme grace. His kind heart has touched so many people, but his strength has been an incredible example for myself and the parent I want to be for my own children.

my son – I only have one child and he has taught me things that no one has made me see before. he is now 23 yrs. old and I am sad that I don’t have that little boy in my lap any more, but it hasn’t kept him from teaching me new things everyday. I love him –
Kay Demonbren says
Good thing my hubby isn’t going to be reading this one, ’cause my Daddy is my greatest male influence. (sweet hubs is a close second).
Daddies are every little girl’s first love, and mine was no exception. He called me “Katydid” when i was younger, and I still smile whenever I think of that. He taught me the value of hard work and honesty, through example, not by lecturing. He’s my “Daddy”, and I love him. 🙂
Deb L says
That’s easy!! My Dad has been the most influential male figure in my life!! He had two daughters and were our biggest cheerleaders and supporters growing up!! He also taught us how to build and fix things, too, so we could be independent!! He showed us how a real man acted, and still does!! He was so influential that I married a man very much like him!!

My Father. He was a very responsible person, with strong beliefs and strong personality. He loved us all very much.
Cynde says
It is definitely my Step-Dad. He married my Mom who had 3 children. He already had 4 of his own that he had custody of (that was back in the 60’s) Which was saying something about him already. He raised us as “His” children. I will forever and always Love him as “My one and only Dad”. He truly put the time in for all 7 of his kids.
Crafty Math Chick says
I have not had many positive male role models in real life. I would answer your question with ‘my father,’ but not in the way you expect. He represents the example NOT to follow, the I do NOT want to be, which has been hugely influential instrumental in making smart choices and helped me to become the person I WANT to be, and am today. I know I probably need a happy answer to win, but I am an honest person, but this is the truth. I am constantly inspired by the wonderful role models that my husband and so many of his military colleagues are, their morals, their service, their sacrifice, their strong family values and their humility. Thanks for a chance to win a beyond-generous prize package of goodies that I would be happy to use to create wonderful cards for the Operation Write Home Program, rather than my father specifically, and all of the beautiful and inspirational projects you and your remarkable design team have created for us all week long.
k.,m. says
I am so fortunate to have several people who have influenced me. But, my oldest brother was most influential in my life. He was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder that progressively worsened over the years. He was always in great spirits and very concerned for me and my family….even during his most trying times. Eventually this hideous disease took his life…..but he taught me how to die with dignity. He is loved & missed beyond measure.
christianne says
I’d have to say my husband because he is a great example to me of patience and of reaching for goals. He is always setting and working for goals that he sets for himself. He is amazing.

My husband is my rock! He lives by the truth regardless of the cost. We are childhood sweethearts and have been married for 37 years.
wendy mcgaffey says
Well that is an easy question…I grew up from the age of 7 without a father, not having any male influence for most of my life made me skeptical until at the age of 16 I met my soulmate…we have been together for 31 years and married for 25…raised 3 children and now waiting on grandbabies…my Husband definitely has been the most influential man in my life
Lisa Kobza says
My dad…hands down. He is always there when you need him. He has worked so hard for the family. I remember that he always coached the various sports teams when my brother and I were young while travelling a LOT for his work. He used to take red-eye flights so that he could be at the practices. It is only now that I realize how tough that really is. He is truly a blessing to anyone lucky enough to know him.

Debbie says
Without a doubt, my husband. He has always supported me in whatever I do – without complaint and although he is not perfect, he’s the best for me and our two grown children. Our neighbors and friends love him too because he is always there to lend a helping hand. Oh, and he loves to give me PTI gift certificates for all our gift-giving occasions – probably because he hates to shop, but nonetheless it’s a win win situation!
Jasmina says
My father. He is a hard worker and always supports me. But then again my husband is like that too. I’m really lucky 🙂

My pastor while I was a student at the University of Florida. My father and grandfather passed away when I was only 3 so I did not have any major male influences in my life growing up. My pastor is the father of 10 beautiful children. He showed me how a man can live a life of honor and respect. He loves his wife and children and the ministry that he is called to at the University of Florida.

My Husband. We have been married 15 years now and have 3 beautiful kids. He is in the Military and was stationed in the city I lived in when I was in High School. We got married shortly after I graduated, which might not have happened without his support when I was going thru a really tough time in my life. He is a hero to me and to our kids.

My Dad. He is just like Atticus Finch! Kind, loving, diplomatic, moral but not religious, educated, a sure shot with a gun (only when he had to hunt for food as a kid) fish with a stick and string, make 50 different kinds of paper airplanes, cook a gourmet meal and explain anwers to any question you ever asked in a way you can always understand no matter how complicated the subject! I wish I was more like him!

An old friend of the family (surrogate dad!) was paramount in my growing up.. He offered me such excellent advice, and even now, I find myself thinking what would he tell advise me to do, if he were here now. such blessed memories and so thankful for having him in my life..
K. Craig says
It may be cheesy and cliche, but my dad. He was my coach for summer sports, helped me train for track, told me “all those cheerleaders are just catty b’s” when I didn’t make the squad my senior year, cried when I graduated h.s. and college and is still the person I call when I don’t know how to do something or what to do in a situation even thought I’m almost 30. He may have not finished college, but he has more worldly experience than anyone I know.

My Dad…for the strong values that he taught and lives for his family.

that would be my dad, he was a great parent, father, husband, grandfather and veteran. Always proud of his family, his work and his values. He taught me many things, some at the time I didn’t want to hear, but you know he did always know best. Today was his birthday, he would have been 89. Happy Birthday Dad, love you and miss you.

My husband is by far the most influential man in my life. He challenges me, supports me, makes me laugh and sets my heart pounding. After sixteen years we still can’t wait to be together again even if he’s only gone to work. He’s an amazing father and a wonderful leader at work. I’m a lucky woman.
Sharon Holden says
That’s a hard question. My Dad was a wonderful role model, hard worker, good person, would drop everything to help out a friend or acquaintance and never had a bad word to say about anyone. When he passed away 11 years ago my Grandy (Mum’s dad) did his best to fill my Dad’s shoes by being a Father to myself & my brother and a Grandfather to our kids. Sadly we lost him a month ago. Both were the most wonderful family orientated Dads & Grandfathers a girl could hope for and both are so dearly missed and their memories cherished.
Melanie Brown says

That’s a toss-up. My husband and my Dad have both contributed to much to my life. I dearly love and thank God for them both.

My dad and my hubbie. My dad taught me what commitment to family means and my hubbie reinforces my dad’s lessons to both of us each day as he supports our little family of four. I am lucky to have such fine examples of a “good man” in my life and in my girls’ lives.

Definitely my dad. He lives his values every day, and quietly showed all of us kids how to be good citizens, neighbors, and friends. I am so blessed to have him as my husband and I am thankful our children have him for their father! Thanks for the opportunity to share – now I need to let him know 🙂

My father for sure. Growing up my dad worked part time delivering mail on a rural route and before i started school i went with him. He packed a lunch and made a bed for me in the back of his truck. He was always done his route by early afternoon so we would spend the rest of the day together – planting a garden, cutting wood etc. We live across the country from one another now and I miss him so much.

Definitely my husband. He is my other half, he keeps me grounded when I fly too high and pushes me to have fun when I’m working too much. this is a hard question as it hasn’t been just one. There’s my own father, but there are also two other men who have influced my childhood. These two t men (and their families) were are family when living in MS and the families helped each other with everything, including raising us kids. To this day I still refer to them as Mr.”so and so” as the sign of respect that I was taught with.

It is a pretty even split between my father and my husband. Dad certainly gave me my core values and shaped my beliefs as a child and I treasure that and miss him so deeply since he has gone. My Hubby! He has pushed me to do things I would normally back out of, loved me through thick and thin, wild ups and bad downs and gone along with some of my crazy ideas. Plus he’s an amazing Dad to our girls. Twenty three years on Saturday! Yeah!!!
Margaret Peltier says
My Father continues to be the greatest influence in my life – his work ethic when we were growing up – working 3 jobs so that we had what we wanted – but every weekend he took us somewhere – the memories are the greatest – it wasn’t always easy and to this day we all struggle but always have the memories to look back on and know that anything can and will be accomplished as long as we put our best foot forward and work hard! He has since retired and had a stroke that has impeded his short term memory but the long term memory remains – it is hard to see such a strong man age and his health fail – he can’t remember what he had for breakfast this morning but he can remember 47 yrs ago – the day I was born!
Linda Edwards says
My husband… loving, strong, supportive, caring, selfless. Our son said it all when he told me “I can’t imagine growing up without this man in my life.”

This is hard! I want to say my dad and my husband but am going to say my sons. They influence every aspect of my life, from what groceries we buy, to what I watch even when they aren’t around, to my thoughts on politics and religion. I love my dad and he instilled so many good things in me. I adore my husband and he has definitely made me a better person. But it is those muddy little angels who influence me the most.
Lee Anne says
Oh my, what a question. At first thought, my dad comes to mind. He once told me we were soul-mates. He was wonderful and fought a brave fight with cancer, but we lost him in July. Then, of course, my wonderful husband, who still influences me even after his death last month. I’m a downer, I know – but those are two of the best men that ever walked the planet. I know…everyone will say that about their own dads and husbands, (but mine really were!)
Vanessa says
My Husband! We met while I was still in high school. He supported me during college, establishing my career, and becoming the woman I am today. I cannot imagine what my life would be like without him. He is always there for me and helping me in any way possible.
Anemone says
Without question – my Dad. Technically I suppose, he is my stepfather, though I’ve never thought of him in that way. . My father died before I was one and my mother remarried while I was still small. He has been the most fantastic dad – taught me more than I can say. If I had to boil it down to one sentence, I guess I would be that he has taught me how to live.
CarolLynn says
My husband–I met him over 28 years ago at my first duty location in the Air Force. I was 18 and my first time away from home and living in a foreign country. He taught me so much about life as we grew together as a couple–he is definitely the reason for my success today.

My husband most definitely. He is the calm to my storm, and is the one person that truly understands me. He makes me constantly want to try a little harder and be a little better.
Jan Knapp says
My dad – the best in the world! Just a couple of weeks until the first anniversary of his death. I miss him like crazy. He was the father of three girls and we knew he loved my mother beyond measure. His face would light up when she came into a room. He was a wonderful grandfather to my children and my sister’s children. He taught the boys to shoot and drive and how to use tools. He taught us all how to be responsible and good citizens and how to recognize what is important in life. He was my hero.
Kelly Braund says
That would for sure be my Grandpa. My dad was never a big part of my life and my Grandpa filled that part of my life beautifully. He was an amazingly kind, hardworking, fabulous man who I was lucky enough to have in my life until a few years ago. I am so lucky we got to live a block away from them while we started our family and that he got to meet all three of my kids and show them just a peek at how special he was.
MJ (good_day1214) says
I was raised by my phenomenal single, working mom. Sure I had uncles and male cousins, but none were really role model- types when I was growing up. I’d have to say that the most influential male figure would have to be my DS. Living for a person other than yourself teaches you (maybe *tested* would be a better word!) so many life lessons: responsibility, patience, resilience, fear, pride, utmost joy… He keeps me grounded, helps me strive to be a better person, and try to live as a good example for him.
Linda E says
My father has been the greatest male influence on my life. He passed away 13 years ago this week and I always feel that there was so much more I could have learned from him.
Allyson says
My Grandfather. I grew up with a father who worked hard, but was so obviously absent from real family life, and I’m afraid I never really developed a great relationship with him, though we do keep in touch here and there. But my Grandmother and Grandfather really picked up the slack and gave me that sense of stability in life. I am so grateful for him and all the love and kindness and encouragement he has provided for my life – especially spiritually. Thanks for the fun release week and the opportunity to win! I am excited to snatch up some fun products and get busy stamping. 😉
Myrna H. says
I would have to say my PaPa. He always wanted a daughter, and only had sons. He taught me so many things – like how to hit my thumb with a hammer! He explained to me that once I hit my thumb with a hammer (not very hard, I do admit) that I would know how much it hurt, and I would not do it again! Then he taught me to hammer nails, use many types of tools, pour concrete, you name it – all the stuff girls are not supposed to do. This taught me that there really are no limits on what we can or cannot achieve – that limits are artificial creations, not absolutes. I cannot think of a more important life lesson.
Tracey McNeely says
I would definitely have to say my father. Throughout my life I don’t ever remember him raising his voice to me or anyone. He is kind, funny and loved by anyone he meets. He never taught any of his five children to think like him or believe what he believed but taught us each to think for ourselves and to think well. He never got angry with anyone and is only able to see the good in people. He taught us that it is okay to laugh and okay to cry. I have never heard him boast or brag. He is 83 years old now and I treasure every moment with him and I value every lesson he ever taught me. I love my dad.
sarah says
definitely my husband, daniel 🙂 next week we will celebrate 20 years since our first date, and from that moment he has made me a better person. he keeps me calm, helps me to see the positive in all things, makes me laugh even when i don’t want to, and genuinely completes me!
Michelle Caldera says
My husband. I didn’t have a father to grow up with, and it has been so wonderful to see my husband be such an amazing father to our children, especially our daughter. Gotta love that!
Maureen L says
My Uncle Bill … even tho he lived 3 hours away, he always made me feel special every time I saw him. He gave me a connection ot my dad after he died.
Alison says
My grandfather, who I miss every day.
Karen Corbett says
My husband has been my best friend and my cheerleader for over 35 years. He’s also been a great father to our 2 sons. My father died when I was 20, and certainly was important to me, but my husband has influenced my whole adult life.
Shelly says
That would have to be my dad. He has not only taught me everything I know, but he has lived his life by example. I love his gentle, wise and loving ways…he is truly a blessing. If I can name another influence, it would be my husband. Again, another man who lives life with integrity and always with the best interest of others at heart. I love them both so much!
Mary H says
Dad. For being tender when I needed it and tough when I needed it, loving me no matter what and encouraging me to do anything I wanted. Definitely my hero!
Stephanie W. says
What a great question; I am torn between my Father and my Husband. On the one hand, my Dad has always been there for me and was always a great example of how to live. My Husband now pushes me to be a better person and for us to be better people together. We are expecting our first child in less than a month and the little things we are doing to ensure we are going to be good parents and working together has been such an amazing journey. I know he will be a great Father too. Thanks for a great release!
Cherrie says
My husband. We met when I was 15 and we have now been together for 30 years. He has been a wonderful father and husband through all the ups and down of life.
Michelle P. says
My husband is definitely the most influential man in my life. He supports me in everything I do and is always my rock! He has taught me patience and how to watch our daughter grow up with a smile on my face. I’ve always been a go-go-go type of woman, but this sweet man showed me how much more enjoyable life truly is if you slow down, smell the flowers, and watch from the sidelines as your child grows and matures. He’s my everything!
Sandra B. says
Definitely my husband. He’s always been there for me and supported me through everything. He’s a hard worker and a great father to our two daughters.

My Dad. He has worked so hard for his family and I’ve never heard him complain. He’s a fine example of a family-oriented and generous man.
Susan Rob says
Ny dad, for his kindness, patience and love of life.
Sara says
I would have to say both my husband and my son have been the best and most positive male influences in my life.
My son is my first born and has definitely changed my life for the better. He has taught me to be a better person and still teaches me something every day.
My husband has been my rock and my love and has supported me through some of the most difficult times in my life.
I would love to win this month’s release because I know my son would love the train!
Becky P. says
My dad. We had a rough start when I was in school, but after I graduated college, we became friends. He is a man of integrity, he is very generous and he has a kind heart. My dad is not perfect, but he has taught me to be an honest, hardworking person who can provide for my family. I hope I can pass those same lessons on to my children.
Hannah Mize says
I would say that my father was the most influential male in my life for developing years and gave me perspective on who my mate should be. My husband is wonderful and fulfills my life. He truly is my other half.
see mary stamp says
The most influential person would be my husband of 27 years. He lives by a very strong ethical code, which can make waves at times, but is really admirable in these days where it seems like anything goes. He has an amazing work ethic, and he makes me laugh.
Deanne Sanchez says
My father, he is a man of few words but once he speaks everyone listens.
joy says
Like a lot others, my dad was important in my life, but my husband has been the most influential in my life. We have been married for 43 years, raised 3 wonderful girls and have 7 fantastic grandchildren. We were high school sweethearts and really just grew up and matured together. Life without his influence would be difficult.
Gretchen C says
My hubby is my biggest fan!! He always inspires me to try new things~even when I doubt myself he cheers me on 😉
Janis says
Hands down, my dad. He taught me by living his life, infusing in me high moral standards, how to respond when the world treats you poorly, how to live within your means, etc. Sadly, I lost this great man to leukemia 11 years ago and there are many times I wish I could chat with him again.
Erica M. says
I can’t narrow it down to just one. My dad, my papaw and my husband have all been very influential in my life.
Ann says
Definitely my dad. He taught me to be strong and gave me the same opportunities my brothers had, including work as a commercial fisherman which put me through college. He taught me the value of hard work.
Alice Roushia says
By far it has been my Father. My Father has gone thru tremendous pain of seeing 2 of his children die and is wife, my Mother. He has shown me that you must believe in God Almighty because he has a plan for all of us. He has gone thru cancer, 2 heart attacks, open heart surgery, 2 hip replacements, and 1 knee replacement. He is 82 and plays golf at least 2 to 3 times per week. He is always there to talk to and make sure that I am okay. He worries about me. He taught me values growing up and He has shown me that love is one of the greatest gifts of all, he was married to my Mother for 51 yrs. He always taught me to save what I can for later on in life because you never know what will happen. He is my FATHER and I Love him.
Vera Yates says
My brothers are the greatest make influence in my life. The way they stay true to themselves, their commitment to the family, and their generous hearts inspire me all the time. They show me what good men are. They are my rock.
Mary says
My husband who is my best friend and my greatest blessing in life. It is hard to believe that after 35 years of marriage we still call each other during the day just to say “I love you and I miss you.” When I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year he went with me to every appointment and was so supportive.
Donna Garvin says
I would have to say the most influential man in my life is hands down my HUSBAND. Growing up my father was never at home. My husband turned my world upside down in a wonderful way. We have been married for 31 years and have had our ups and downs during those years. But I don’t think I could have a more thoughtful and wonderful man in my life. He has been in my corner cheering me on every single day and I can’t imagine my life without him.
danielle says
My father is my hero. I’ve always looked up to him, but when I started my own family I realized just how much my father had taught me. He taught me so many essential things that make me who I am today and I am so lucky to have him as my Dad.
Lisa Alonzo says
This sounds sort of depressing after reading the others, but I don’t feel that way about it. I would have to say my father, who is now deceased, but not for the reasons most would think. I did not look up to my father, and never found him to be a very likeable person. We never had much of a positive relationship while I was growing up and he was killed when I was just 18. That was a long time ago, but from him I learned the kind of person I never want to be, or be with. Today I have one heck of a husband who is also a great dad to our 2 kids! I couldn’t have chosen any better, and I know that my children will always see their dad in a completely different way than I saw mine. In some strange way, I suppose I can give some of the credit for that to my father….
Susan Bennett says
My husband. We got married very early (pre twenties) and have grown up together. A wonderful man to me and my children for many blssed years.
katevdp says
I have been lucky to be surrounded by wonderful men in my life. But, as with most others, my dad has been the biggest and most positive influence in my life. He breaks a lot of the stereotypes of men – he is gentle, kind, talks a lot & loves to socialise. He has taught me more about unconditional love than anyone. More than 40 years ago, my mum was diagnosed with a mental illness – but for those 40 years my dad has stuck by her, helping her, shielding us during the ‘bad’ times and providing us all with a wonderful, happy, carefree family life. He is truly amazing.
jamie nania says
My father. He is the hardest worker I’ve ever met. The whole time growing up he always worked two jobs and to this day I’ve never heard him complain about work. He’s a great father and a great grandfather to my three children. He holds a very special place in my heart.
Cassi says
it would have to be a family friend, who has always been a like a father to me. he always challenged my thinking, and helped me to gain appreciation for multiple perspectives.
Pat Baker/Silver Rabbit Studio says
That’s an easy one. My Dad. He was a very creative and gentle man. I loved working with his tools. When he was in the hospital, my Mom said I could always bring a smile to his face and brighten his mood. I miss him alot, and wish I learned more from him as an adult before his memory began to fade. He was a musician his whole life, and taught music to hundreds and hundreds of kids in Harford County, MD.
Diane says
My husband has been the most influential male figure in my life. He is an encourager to so many – myself, our children, at work, and in the community!
Susie Nam says
My husband. We have been together through thick and thin. Through everything, he has been an encouragement and great support. A wonderful father to our kids and a great example of a man with integrity.

My dad… who told me I could be anything I wanted to be!
Danielle Daws says
My husband. He’s been there for me when things have been really rough over the past couple of years.
Donelle U says
My dad was the most amazing person. Quiet and dependable, caring and kind, I miss him so much! He passed away 12 years ago shortly after I got divorced. My wish would be that he could meet my husband now and that my kids would know what an amazing grandfather they had. I miss him every day.
Anthonette says
I would say my dad. He has been a great role model. I love the advice he gave me as a child: “just do your best”. That advice carried through many tough times. I give my own son the same advice.
Pat says
The most influential male figure has been my husband. I grew up in a divorced family and didn’t get to see my dad very often and didn’t have a close relationship with him growing up. It wasn’t until I met and married my husband that I had a male in my life everyday that ended up becaming my best friend and someone that is always there for me. He is the male figure that I missed out on while growing up. He supports me in all the crazy crafting project that I create and makes me smile everyday.
Barbara says
My older brother was a selfish man addicted to drink and drugs until he found God. Watching him transform into a loving and devoted husband and father has been so inspirational that my own desire to follow God was sparked.
While it’s painful to watch someone you love struggle with addiction, the joy you feel in seeing them rise above it is awe-inspiring. My big brother is one of the most important blessings in my life. I would be lucky to marry a man like him.
Dee Rose says
My husband is my greatest male influence. My dad passed away when I was a child and I grew up without any influential male figures. No matter what, my husband has always been there for me and he has filled the hole in my heart from my childhood. He means the world to me.
Ang says
that would be my husband. He is the first person in my life to love me unconditionally and that changed my life. He is also a fantastic father.
Ang
Kirsty says
The greatest male influence is a former boss who taught me most of what I know in the field I work in.

At the risk of sounding goofy, I’d have to say my husband. He has been so supportive through so many things, and he makes me want to be the best I can be!

My Dad, he taught me everything from the proper way to clean a paint brush to how to change a tire.
Sheri says
Oh gosh! My Dad, of course! He and my Mom taught me how to love and what to look for in a husband…and how to parent my own daughter. I miss him every day.
Miki says
Hands down, my Dad! He fought to gain custody of my sister & I and raised us both on his own. I’m so thankful for him everyday with the sacrifices he made for us.
Julie E says
My father has been the greatest influence on my life. My father has been battling a disease the past decade that has completely changed him. I wish that my children had the opportunity to know the father that I grew up with, from playing baseball to taking my sister and I on roller coasters, he was full of laughs and jokes.
Marilyn says
My father was the most influential man in my life. He taught me everything from the social graces to how to handle a farmer who was irate over the price of his fertilizer bill! I worked with my father for 27 years in the family agribusiness before he finally retired and let me lead the company. I learned everything about the company from him, along with a lot of astute business practices. My father has been gone for almost two years, and I miss him each and every day.
jen watkins says
My husband. I am incredibly lucky.
Nica R. says
My father has been the most influential male in my life so far. Although, while growing up, there was no way you’d ever hear me say that! I used to think he was the meanest person in my life! He just had so many rules and chores and criticisms for me that I thought he didn’t want me to ever live my own life! But now, I am soo very grateful for everything he did for me. I finally realize that everything he said and did was just for my own good so that I can eventually live my own life. He put me through college, which helped me to become a more independent and confident woman. And now that I’m newly married with a second child on the way, I feel more than prepared to start building a life with a family of my own.
Robyn says
Definetly my father! He has been a very hard worker all his life and has taught me so many things! Humility, hard work, love, service, determination, patience and so much more! I have truly been so very blessed to have him as my father. And now, to have the joy of raising two boys of my own…I hope they will learn the same things from their fabulous father and their grandpa!
Amy Kolling says
I would have to say my husband. He is such a hard working, thoughtful, sweet person and is such a great dad! I don’t know what I’d do without him……we celebrate our 15th anniversary this year!!!
MicheyMoo says
My dad. Bless him, in all his imperfections he has loved me the best way he could. We’ve been through some tough years together but I now turn to him as a confidant and friend and we’ve managed to successfully put those “bad days” behind us. His strength of character and compassion are traits I now admire most about him. Greast release Nichole and DT – I’ve loved the eye candy this week. xx
Beth says
My father. He was my closest confidant and advisor growing up. He read everything and actually used the English language. He has been gone for a number of years now but his kindness, his love and his wisdom is always with me.
Kendall B says
Hands downs, no question about it, my husband. I was blessed a thousand times over to have him in my life!!!
Karen says
No hesitation on this question, as many others have mentioned … my Dad. My father was always available for us … took us skiing, skating, toboganning, swimming and camping. He ALWAYS put us first. Sadly he passed away 6 years ago, but I think of him, with love, every day.
Donette B says
My dad is…He is all that is good and kind with a core of strength. He has MS and cancer and I’m continually amazed by his strength, courage and determination to live each day to the fullest.
Denise O says
This is a tough one. I would have to say my father and my grandfather. I didn’t get to see my grandfather all that often as he lived out of state, but when we did visit, he made me feel special. There was a bond between us and I miss him terribly. My dad always made time for us and always did things with us that he knew we wanted to do. He encouraged us to be ourselves and to speak our minds. He adores my kids and that makes him a wonderful grandpa too!
Steph says
I am a blessed woman. I have had many great men in my life, a father that adopted me and made no difference between me and his biological
daughter thus paving the way for her and I to be close. A grandfather that taught me that the answer to everything can be found in the Word of God. An uncle that is like a brother to me and three men that have been spiritual father and Pastors in my life. But the most influential man in my life is Leon. There is nothing like having a man in your life that begin his morning by praying for you and regardless of how busy his day is when I am having a bad day he drops everything to make sure I am ok. Once he found out that I was a minister that had stepped down from ministry due to life situations he prayed and encouraged until I decided to fulfill the calling on my life and that is why he is the most influential man in my life.
Beverly says
My dad was the greatest man I have ever known. He was one of my best friends and I miss him terribly. He taught us the value of hard work, sometimes working three jobs to support the family. He taught us the best thing we could use in life was common sense. He taught us to love God. He taught us how to love. My folks had nine children and we are some of us senior citizens now and are still close as ever. He also taught us to love our country. He was in the Phillipines in WW2 and would never talk about his experiences but as bad as they must have been, he was the most patriotic man I ever knew. He was just the BEST!
Karen Smith says
MY EX-HUSBAND@@!! Sometimes for better, sometimes for worse… I have grown into a much more capable and independent person now that I am on my own but I have to admit that I have learned a lot (the hard way) from him. On a sweeter note, my two sons influence me in a much nicer way and I thank God for their presence (and my daughter’s, too) in my life.
Whitney Moss says
My dad of course, but my Grandpa was a huge part of my childhood and I have so many wonderful memories of him. I also use many of the life lessons he taught me everyday.
Jennie Cottrell says
I love my dad–all his gruffness and bluff hiding a heart of gold. One story about him–se were all out in the forest cutting firewood for the first time ever and things didn’t go so well. So, right in the middle of things, I said “Dad” and he gently told me “not right now, Jennie” without any impatience even thought he was so frustrated trying to get the stuck wedge out of the tree. He took another 30 minutes to get it loose, then first thing he did was turn to me and ask what I wanted. In his shoes, I would totally have forgotten about my child. To this day, he feels terrible, though, because I just wanted to tell him he was standing on my foot. It didn’t hurt much and I am so, so impressed that he was patient with me and remembered me at the end.
Ally V. says
I would have to say my husband. I had no real father figure growing up and he shows me how a father should love and provide for his family.
Shannon Murdock says
My dad has been the most influential for *most* of my life. I am much more like him than I am my mom. He has always been a wonderful role model–hard-working, patient, tender, creative and supportive. For the last 10 years, however, I would have to say my husband has been more influential. Having him in my life truly makes me a better person! He inspires me to work harder, be more organized, be frugal (to a point!) with my/our money, and he is my biggest supporter in everything I do. He truly is my soulmate and the love of my life!!
Teresa Brada says
My step-dad tought me what a father was supposed to be.He loved me as I was his own. Growing up, my real father was an alcoholic, and not around much.I do thank god that he did quit drinking about 20 years before he passed, and I finally got to know him.
Debbie says
That would definitely be my father! He was the most loving, kind and giving man and I miss him every day of my life. He had such a positive effect on everyone he knew. Wonderful release this month, gals!!
Tanya Phillips says
My dad. He has been there for me through so much, I am so thankful. He always has funny euphemisms to say for everything. I used to think they were so dumb when I was a kid, now I love them!
Nomoney56 says
My father was my greatest male influence. Susan

My Dad, he showed me that any problem can be solved with a level head, that love can be shown in many ways, and that having someone that you can count on in any situation is the most important trait in a person.

kristie larsen says
My father for sure. He is honest, loyal and committed to everything he does. He has always been a great example to me and someone I still go to for help in so many situations. He is a wonderful man.
Kim Dalton says
My Grandfather, actually he was my step Grandfather, but he was the gentlest, kindest man ever. He was a carpenter, and I would spend hours in his shop, playing with all of the wood “scraps” and making houses and doll furniture. He happily let me play while he worked. When I was 3, I was in a bicycle accident, needed a skin graft and other stuff, he made me crutches that were just my size! I miss him and think of him often.I’m sure my desire to craft started right there in his shop!
Anna says
My husband is my male influence. He encourages & supports me in any of my endeavors especially when it has to do with crafting. But, my greatest male influence is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He inspires me to a better human being.
Stacy Simpson says
My grandfathers were wonderful men and my Dad is great (he is technically my stepdad; he adopted me when I was four and treated me like I was his own child). But I have to say the most influential is my husband. He truly is my rock; always calm and always there for me and our boys. He is my biggest supporter.
Janice M says
Definitely my Dad who passed away five years ago this month.I learned so much from him and have him to thank for my love of reading.
Kelly says
My dad continues to be the greatest male influence in my life. He set the bar high for my expectations of what a husband and father should be. Funny how we don’t tell them that – we just assume they know! Thanks for the opportunity to share!
LeAnn says
Hands down my husband. He is truly a man of character, integrity, and strength. It amazes me even 11 years later. I sometimes just watch him in awe at how graceful he moves through life. He is amazing!
Jen C. says
My husband…he’s always the calm to my storm…my life is so much better because of him.

I have to say the most influential male in my life is my husband. My dad is a wonderful man and father, but my biggest cheerleader and supporter is my courageous husband….love him deeply forever and a day!
Maureen Plut says
I would have to say the most influential male in my life has been my son. I had him young and raised him by myself (with the support of my family). I have always loved him unconditionally and have strived to be the best mom for him 🙂
Kris says
There are 3. My father and my husband are way at the top but the most influential was a little guy under the age of 5! I babysat him from nearly day one of his life and at times felt like I was his mom. He taught me how to be patient, how to teach and how to be the mom I am today. A lot for such a small person!
Linda says
My father has definitely been the greatest male influence in my life. His grandson
picked him to be his best man because he taught him how to be the best man he could be. He taught me how to be the best person I could be. I miss him!
Kelly Ann Taylor says
I adored my father here on earth, but
I also love My Heavenly Father with all my heart.
If not for His love, where would I be today?
It is He who has given me all things to enjoy, including my earthly father, who passed away 15 years ago.
Thanks for letting us share tonight!

My most influential male is my husband….. he is all that i am not and hope to be, patient and calm in times of trouble , a great cook , awesome grocery shopper( i’d come home with cookies and nothing else) and he is the best dad .
Marjorie Henseler says
My husband… he is the best person I know at accepting people as they are, without expectations or judgment. By his example, he helps me be a better person.
Laura Fitzgerald says
My father…. he’s a truly fair man, and he taught me a lot. He’s not scared to show his own weaknesses or to help others conquer theirs either. It’s very refreshing for someone to actually tell me the truth, even if it is something that is hard to hear.
LaceyNB says
My husband is a great influence on my life. He is able to face almost any situation with positivity and respect. He is the kindest person I’ve ever met and I can’t imagine living my life without having met him.
Susan Ward says
Jesus, I’m influenced everyday by what he has done for me and how he has given his life for me. I’m becoming a catholic on Easter weekend and I’m influenced everyday by what he has done for me.
Deepa M. says
The most influential male role model I had is my dad. He led by example, and showed me that living a life with integrity and honesty and staying true to yourself is more important than worrying about what others think/say/do. I get my exemplary work ethic from my father as well, and I take it as a true compliment when my mother laments that I am “my father’s daughter”! My paternal grandfather is another good role model, but living on the opposite side of the world meant that our interactions were less frequent. Thank you for dedicating this month to the important males in our lives!!
C Burke says
My father was. He was a person of great character and was a good example of how a husband should treat his wife. He loved to learn and to have fun too.
Diana says
I would have to say my husband. My Dad was wonderful, but my husband has been the center of my being as an adult and has taught me ‘every thing I know’…..at least HE thinks so 🙂 LOL
stampyblock says
I love my father and he is a wonderful man but the most influential man in my life is my husband. He makes me dream more then I ever would have for myself. He gives me confidence and strength all while giving me so much love and support. I have never known anyone that works so hard and cares so much. He is amazing and I really need to tell him all of this today, I haven’t said it in a while. (Married 13 1/2 yrs)
Sherry says
My husband for sure. He is a wise, supportive and loving man. Couldn’t live without him!
lynne says
My grandfather was the most influential in my life, and since his passing I have come to learn how many lives he truly touched. His belief in giving, guiding and the goodness in all around him are the example he left me, and the one I hope to leave my children, and grandchildren.
Charmaine Ikach says
Definitely my dad. I admire his patience and strength. I strive for these qualities as a parent that I experienced as his daughter.
Catherine J. says
I would have to say my father. He was a hard working man that gave his all to his wife and kids. He may not have been given all the opportunities in life, but he definitely made sure that his kids had them. He encouraged me to reach for the stars and be successful at whatever career I chose in life. He passed away 10 years ago, and I miss him so so much. Even though he has still motivated me to be a very strong woman who works hard and goes after what she wants in life.
Kristie H says
My father has probably had the strongest influence but has had a lot of help from other males from my family and relationships. The greatest gift my father gave me is the love and respect he has given me over the years that has given me a basis for the love and respect I have for myself and what I expect from others.
Lynne Osborn says
My father instilled so many values in my life. He was the most patient , caring individual I know. It was such a loss in my life to have lost my dad so early in my life. I miss him but value what he gave me.
Mary B says
My wonderful husband – we’ve been married almost 26 wonderful years. He comes from a broken home – parents divorced when he was 3, and he had almost no contact with his father until adulthood. Even though he didn’t see a good example of a husband/father as he was growing up, he has been a fabulous leader and example to me and our children. The grace of God has been very evident in his life.
Denise says
My dad….. if it weren’t for him, I know that I wouldn’t be the person I am today. AND today I found out he is in the fight of his life. I know he is strong and I know that he can do anything, I just hope that big ugly “C” won’t be stronger. He is a good man.
Karen H. says
My husband. He is such a good person, and as cliche as it sounds, he makes me want to be a better person. I must also give a shout-out to my brother – the only male role-model I had as a kid. He and I are definitely of the same mind-set and it was so helpful to have someone to talk to.
Meredith says
My husband, no question… he has taught me how to be the person I never knew I could be, and he has always been there to support and encourage me. I would not be the person I am, nor would I be as happy as I am, if not for my wonderful guy! I owe so much to him, and I am so grateful to have him.
Renee redalen says
My dad was and continues to be the most influential man in my life. I was 16 when he died suddenly at the age of 45. He taught me so much in that time. I am the only girl having two brothers. My dad and I had the most special father daughter relationship! Even though it was short lived…I had the best, and am so very thankful for the legacy he left behind. Thank you for letting me share!

My dad…he has always stayed true to who he is and what he believes. I look up to him a whole lot and hope my kids will say the same thing about me some day.
ArlaMo says
I’m going to say my husband. I’ve been married longer than I was at home and my sweet husband has made a huge impact on my life.
Debbie Gaydos says
I am going to have to give my dad the “most influential” title. Growing up, I saw him battle alcohol addiction, fight it, and win. Now after 25 years of sobriety, he has helped countless others on their own journey, still an active member of AA. As a retiree in his 70’s, he keeps busy and is active in his local Rotary chapter. He has a kind and gentle soul.
Dora Mendez says

He always sacrified his needs so he could provide for his children.
My dad is very opinionated and stubborn and sometimes even crabby, but he is also very generous, thoughtful, loving, and intelligent. Sometimes he drives us crazy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Although several males have been influential in my life, the strongest male role model is my uncle. He’s remained steadfast through family challenges when others have faltered. Plus, one of my favorite childhood memories is of being lifted up and riding on his sturdy shoulders while he galloped around. 🙂

My Dad. I remember us three kids sitting in the car one day talking about our Dad. We had never opened up like that before and it was an amazing conversation. We are all so proud of him, his career achievements, his ability to have wonderful conversations with people from all walks of life, his sense of humor, his knowledge, the list goes on.
It’s funny because growing up we were always fighting, mostly because I was getting in trouble for a messy room. But for the last 11 years or so (when I moved out) I’ve treasured every moment with him. We call just to talk and we are incredibly alike.

my brother is the most influential man in my life. we have a large age gap between us but we are still close. my family moved to the US before i was born. as i grew up he was able to bridge the cultural gap that sometimes existed between me and my parents. he also understood that it can be difficult to grow up when your household culture is different from the culture you encounter elsewhere (in school, w/friends, etc). most importantly he taught me how vital it is to help the people in your community and to be civically active. my brother rocks. 🙂

For certain my father. He taught me that a man can treat a woman with kindness, be courteous, be sincere, love with all his might and still have high respect and honor for himself as a man. My dad…with my husband a very close second. My dad showed me, by the way that he loved my mother, the way that a husband and wife should work together as a team…with love, with respect for each other, and with a sense of humor. Definitely my husband – of almost 28 years!
He served in the Navy for 20 years and retired in 2001 as a disabled vet with a bad heart (he also has an ICD/pacemaker). His medical condition never slows him down though! He works a full-time civilian job now to provide for his family (including his wife’s addiction to PTI!) and drives almost an hour each way to work. He never complains about his health and he takes life in stride.
He has shown me how important it is to appreciate all the little things in life; and to never give up and always persevere. He encouraged me to go to college, for the first time in my life, after being a stay-at-home mom for over 20 years. I graduated last December with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education (with a 4.0 GPA too!) I could not have done it without his (and my family’s) support, influence, and motivation.
