I hadn’t seen many people use the caterpillar bits & pieces that Candice included in her new Pond Life set, so I thought I would put together a little card using them. The set includes the head, body segment & backside all as separate images. I loved this detail because it allows you, the artist, to do two things; control the length of the caterpillar & alternate the colors used for each body part. For my project today, I wanted to make a bright, cheerful, sunny card, so I pulled out my new favorites, Lemon Tart & Summer Sunrise. I created a few different patterned papers using a variety of stamp sets (see the supply list below) to create a strip medley on the cover.
After I had completed stamping my caterpillar, I added this fun sentiment from Pond Life Sentiments. I think it is just SO adorable! I also added Stickles to the little guy. He just needed a little accessorizing! Did you purchase Pond Life with our most release? I would love to see your projects using the little caterpillar. He has so many possibilities! I know the Simple Alphabet would fit in each segment of the body, which would be so cute spell out a child’s name!

I was just playing with that little guy tonight!! You should see how “she” looks in pink!! Great Card Nichole..I love the sentiments extras for pond life.
This is fabulous! I love this layout because of the “tag” image. Possibilities are endless!
Thanks for the great example using these stamps. The creative juices are starting to flow over here!
The set just arrived yesterday so I didn’t get a chance to play with it but I had the same thing in mind that what you did, a bi-color caterpillar, only mine will be blue and green… 🙂
I actually made a caterpillar card last night! I think he / she is adorable. I used lemon tart, spring moss, aqua mist and urnt umber as my alternating colors for the caterpillar.
Love your card Nichole!!! Maybe you already saw this one if you check my blog at all…but I posted a caterpillar card the other day! I really love that little guy!

Hi Nichole,
I made this card the other night. I wish this was a better photograph, but I was just having issues last night! LOL! Anyway, loving the new set and can’t wait to use it again!

p.s. my 2 year old thought they were eggs, and my 4 year old said they were balloons with legs!
