A classic apple motif paired with a cozy fall pattern in fall colors… it’s warm and comforting. Today’s handmade card features beautiful red apples hanging from the vine, surrounded by leafy greenery, layered against a timeless brown and tan houndstooth pattern.
I love how the rich reds of the apples pop against the warm, neutral background, giving this card a wonderful mix of rustic charm and traditional style. The simple “Especially for You” sentiment finishes it perfectly, making this design a sweet way to let someone special know you were thinking of them.

This is Big Sentiments: You stamps and coordinating dies
STEP 1: Using the Houndstooth Press Plate, press the design on Fine Linen cardstock using Dark Chocolate Ink. Cut the down design. Splatter white ink over the pattern and add faux stitching lines around the edges using a white pen. Attach to a 5″ X 7″ piece of Bitty Big: Pure Poppy pattern paper.
STEP 2: Using the Into the Blooms: Apples Dies die cut the apple stem from Dark Chocolate cardstock. Die cut apples from Pure Poppy cardstock and Simply Chartreuse. Blend Pure Poppy Ink over the red and green apples. Splatter red and white ink over the apples. Attach the branch with glue and the apples using foam tabs to make them stand out from the background.
STEP 3: Die cut leaves from Simply Chartreuse and Ripe Avocado cardstock. Blend darker green ink over the lighter green leaves for variation. Use a darker color ink such as Distress Oxide in in Rustic Wilderness. Die cut the flowers and buds from Stamper’s Select White cardstock. Blend a pink blush ink on the leaves and use a yellow marker such as Copic Y19 to color the stamens. Assemble the flowers and attach the larger ones to the branch, using foam tabs to make them stand out.
STEP 4: Continue to build out the branch, adding flower buds, and more leave around the apples.
STEP 5: Stamp in Pure Poppy ink and die cut the scripted “you” from the This is Big Sentiments: You stamps and coordinating dies. Die cut two more cuts using the die and glue the stack together, creating a thicker die cut. Attach the “you” scripted word to the right bottom corner of the houndstooth layer.
STEP 6: Glue a couple of flowers and leaves around the sentiment. Stamp the “especially for” sentiment in Dark Chocolate Ink on Stamper’s Select White cardstock. Cut the sentiment into a long rectangle and attach it above the “you” with foam tabs. Add a few red gem sticker pearls around the sentiment. Attach the card front to a 5″ X 7″ white card base to complete it.
