It’s wedding season and “something blue” just seems right for a wedding card. The Elegant Rose becomes the “something blue” in this card for the happily wedded couple. I’m using the following Papertrey Ink products for this inspiration project:
Regal Flourish Frame Hot Foil Plate
Wildflower Wreath stamp set and coordinating dies
Into the Blooms: Pressed Flowers dies
Handmade With Love Mini stamp set and coordinating die set
I used the following Papertrey Ink cardstock and inks: Stamper’s Select White cardstock, True Black ink and Classic Kraft dye ink. This card measures 5″ X 7″ in size. Check out my reel on Instagram at @bobbihartdesign and watch this card come to life here! Here are the details.
STEP 1: Stamp the Wildflower Wreath and the “forever and always” sentiment in black ink on Stamper’s Select White cardstock. Color the design using markers such as Copic Markers in B39, B12, B00, YG67, YG25, and YG03. Die cut the wreath and sentiment. Attach a foam tab to the back of the sentiment.
Die cut the layers of the Big Blooms: Elegant Rose die for both rose sizes from Stamper’s Select White cardstock. Use a blender brush to brush on Distress Oxide Ink in Broken China and Faded Jeans ink. Attach the petal layers and color the large rose’s center with yellow, Y19 and YR23. Add Pearl Pen in yellow to make the large floral center dimensional.
Die cut three leafy stems from the Into the Blooms: Pressed Flowers dies. Lightly, blend Distress Oxide Ink in Mowed Lawn on the leaves and splatter green watercolor ink over the leaves. Allow time to dry.
STEP 2: Press the Regal Flourish Frame background design on a 5″ X 7″ Stamper’s Select White cardstock using Classic Kraft dye ink. Use the Spellbinders BetterPress Letterpress system to do this. If you don’t have one, you can also foil the design using Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System. Add small rhinestone gem stickers in gold to the frame’s design on the upper right corner.
STEP 3: Cut the Wildflower Wreath in half and attach it to the frame, creating an “L” shape.
STEP 4: Attach the large rose using foam tabs. Attach the three leafy stems around the rose, filling in the open areas.
STEP 5: Attach the small rose and the “forever and always” sentiment using foam tabs.
STEP 6: Cut and score a white 5″ X 7″card base. Stamp a sentiment inside from the Forever and Always stamp set. Attach the card front to a white A7 card base.
STEP 7: Stamp and die cut the “Handmade With Love” design and attach it to the back of the card. There are several to choose from in the Handmade With Love Mini stamp set and coordinating die set.
