Melissa Phillips celebrates one of life’s sweetest blessings with this soft and charming baby card, layered with thoughtful details and a dreamy pastel palette. 🍼✨ Using the Sweet Baby Bib dies as the focal point, she pairs delicate florals, vellum accents, and playful BABY lettering with an embossed resist background created from the Baby Background stamp for a design full of warmth and whimsy. From the stitched rounded rectangle and layered bib to the subtle shimmer of sequins and glitter, each element works together to create a keepsake worthy card for welcoming a little one.
Melissa shares, “Spring seems to be the time when new life is celebrated and an abundance of baby showers and celebrations take place. I’ve created a sweet baby card today, using the emboss resist technique, which I know you’ll love!”
STEP 1: Cut bib from pink paper.
STEP 2: Cut bib trim and bow from white cardstock and adhere to bib.
STEP 3: Stamp bib with sentiment. Cut flowers and leaves from white cardstock, ink blend to add color, and adhere to bib. Add adhesive pearls to centers.
STEP 4: Cut rectangle from white paper, stamp with background stamp and versamark ink. Coat with white embossing powder and embossed with a heat gun. Apply ink in blue, yellow, and pink.
STEP 5: Adhere bib to rectangle using foam adhesive.
STEP 6: Adhere to Bitty Big Spring Rain background. Cut a 1 1/2 inch strip of vellum. Wrap around card front below bib. Cut “BABY” from assorted colors of paper. Adhere to vellum. Cut small flowers and leaves from white cardstock, apply ink, and adhere. Add adhesive pearls to centers.
To finish, add card front to card base and add sequins and Stickles glitter.
This project is a lovely reminder that baby cards can feel extra meaningful when soft color, layered texture, and heartfelt details come together. ✨ From the embossed resist background and vellum band to the floral accents and sweet bib focal point, Melissa’s design offers beautiful inspiration for celebrating new arrivals in a handmade way.
