TIPS: 

  • Add a realistic twist to your rose by heat embossing the detail image, or second step, using white embossing powder.
  • This is such a romantic set, don’t be afraid to combine oval frames of different sizes.  Here I’ve combined the oval frame from Such a Treasure with the smallest Love to Layer:  Laced Ovals die.

TIPS: 

  • Create a background using the roses from this stamp set.  Add leaves sparingly to achieve a fresh, floral appearance.
  • Soften the background a bit by using a bit of vellum.  This adds to the ethereal, romantic feel.

TIPS: 

  • Use the die cuts for the balloons in blue and green to create the look of a world globe. Hand cut the pieces to make them different shapes.
  • Add detailing to the tree trunk to make the tree look more real-like. Use a black to add the bark and shadows to the branches.
  • Use the Going Places stamp set to add to the “retirement” theme for the card. 
  • This card is 5″ X 7″. Place the stencil at the top, allowing a 1″ white space for the sentiment at the bottom.

    This is hard to choose, so I based it on which card piqued my curiosity the most! Plus the stunning colors. It has to be the first card by Melissa Phillips! I love the foiling as always, but those balloons are so colorful and beautiful! I am amazed at how much I keep wanting to go look at it! It’s like the first time I used an embossing folder, I just marveled at how pressure could create something so beautiful, I had to carry it around all day so I could keep looking at it 😆😆😆 like a kid. Anyways, all are beautiful cards!

    Such amazing cards! Having to choose just one… I have to go with Brenda Noelke’s balloon tree… Such amazing colors, it really stands out. Receiving that on your birthday would make everyone happy!
