Hello crafty friends! Looking for a fun wedding card to make? This card includes love birds, best wishes and something blue! My card features the follow Papertrey Ink products:
This is Big Sentiments: Wishes stamps and coordinating dies
Wings of Love Stencil Collection
My card is 5″ X 7″ and uses a white card base made from the Stamper’s Select white cardstock. For my black ink stamping, I use True Black Ink.
Here are the step-by-step details for creating this card:
STEP 1: Using the Wings of Love Stencil Collection, Ranger Distress Oxide Ink in Mermaid Lagoon, Mowed Lawn and Salty Ocean and Blender Brushes, apply the layers of inks to make these cute love birds. Splatter black watercolor ink over the birds. Set aside to dry. Attach to a 5″ X 7″ piece of Tropical Teal cardstock to create the card front.
STEP 2: Attach dried / preserved flowers to the front of the bird pattern. The ones shown here were sold by Papertrey Ink.
Add a fun pattern design around the perimeter of the stenciled layer like dash-dot-dash using a fine-tip black marker.
STEP 3: Die cut two flowers to match the birds using the Into the Blooms: Anemone Dies. Die cut the petals from white cardstock and the centers from True Black cardstock. Use a white Gelly Roll Pen to add the white highlights to the centers and Mermaid Lagoon ink to add color to the petals. Assemble the flowers and attach them to the card front in the lower right corner, over the dried florals, using foam tabs.
Stamp and die cut the “Best Wishes” sentiment using the This is Big Sentiments: Wishes stamps and coordinating dies. Use Tropical Teal ink for the sentiment. Attach the words using foam tabs to make them stand out.
STEP 4: Inside the card, stamp in True black, a sentiment from the This is Big Sentiments: Wishes stamp set. Splatter a coordinating blue watercolor ink over the sentiment for “something blue” inside!
