Project Inspiration: Butterfly Thinking of You by Brenda Noelke

Hello, fellow cardmakers and crafters!! Brenda from mypapercutcreations here with you today!! The Build-A-Butterfly Die Set is one of my faves from the latest release!! I absolutely love butterflies!! They can be used for so many different types of cards and this die set is so versatile (combine it with the Build-A-Butterfly stencil for even more options)!! Let’s get to my card for today!!

STEP 1

Die-cut all the elements from the Build-A-Butterfly Die Set from Summer Sunrise, Lilac Grace, Spring Rain, Green Parakeet, True Black and black glitter cardstock. Add shading using Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, Lilac Grace, Royal Velvet, Spring Rain and Blueberry Sky inks.

STEP 2

Die-cut the Cornered: Butterflies Die from opposite corners of an A2 panel of white cardstock. Blend the center with Spring Rain and Blueberry Sky inks. Splatter it with diluted True Black ink using a paintbrush.

STEP 3

Blend Summer Sunrise and Orange Zest inks onto opposite corners of an A2 panel of Summer Sunrise cardstock.

STEP 4

Adhere the white panel over the yellow one using liquid glue.

STEP 5

Stamp the sentiment, from the This Is Big Sentiments: Thinking of You Stamp Set, onto white cardstock with True Black ink and cut it out with the Coordinating Die. Die-cut three additional layers from white cardstock. Stack and adhere them together with liquid glue.

STEP 6

Arrange the leaves in opposite corners, adhere with liquid glue and trim the excess from the edges.

STEP 7

Adhere the floral clusters with liquid glue.

STEP 8

Adhere the butterfly, adding liquid glue only behind the body, allowing the wings to pop up.

STEP 9

Adhere the stacked sentiment using liquid glue.

STEP 10 (not pictured)

Pop up the individual flowers with foam squares. Die-cut the small dots in the Build-A-Butterfly Die Set from Summer Sunrise cardstock and adhere them to the center of each flower. (The dots will stick to the exposed adhesive peeking through the flowers that are popped up with foam squares. I added the others using a tiny bit of liquid glue.)
