Hello crafty friends. Bobbi Lemanski here sharing butterflies and florals from the Papertrey Ink June release. This A7 card is designed to lift someone up or let them know you care about them and understand the hurt. It could easily serve as a sympathy card, too. Butterflies are so peaceful and beautiful and remind us of what is above us. I love having these cards on hand because it’s for the rough times that we don’t plan for in our lives. I like to have cards ready to send when the need arises.
I’m using the following Papertrey Ink products for this 5″ X 7″ card:
This is Big Sentiments: Thinking of You stamps
Build-A-Butterfly Stencil Collection
Not used on this card, but available: This is Big Sentiments: Thinking of you dies
This card is so easy to make because it just involves dies and a stencils. There’s no coloring needed. To create it, I used cardstock in the following colors: Stamper’s Select White, New Leaf, Lavender Moon, Aqua Mist, Spring Rain and Enchanted Evening. (The Sampler Pack includes all these colors.) Die cut the butterfly elements, leaves and hydrangea flowers. Add ink to the edges of the flowers using Distress oxide ink in Wilted Violet, Kitsch Flamingo and Rustic Wilderness.
Using the Build-A-Butterfly Stencil Collection, add designs to the butterfly bases using Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet inks. Assemble the butterflies and hydrangea blossoms.
For the card base, splatter black watercolor ink over the front, keeping the upper right corner clean with no splatters. Stamp the sentiment from the This is Big Sentiments: Thinking of You stamps. Attach the butterflies, leaves and flowers on the front. Use foam tabs under the middle two hydrangea blossoms (white and blue/lavender blossoms). This helps to support the wings on the middle and lower butterfly.
