💐 Designer: Bobbi Lemanski
Some cards just feel extra special, and this Birthday Daisies Gatefold Card is no exception! With its elegant Fantastic Front gatefold design and Into the Blooms: Daisies, this 5” x 7” creation has the feel of a high-end, store-bought card while still being full of handcrafted charm. Bobbi used watercolor splatter techniques to create a natural, organic look that pairs beautifully with layered florals and a pop of color.
Ready to try it yourself? Here’s how she made it!

STEP 1:
✂️ Cut two panels of Classic Kraft cardstock to 6-7/8” wide x 5” tall.
Die cut two Fantastic Fronts from Vintage Cream cardstock.
🎨 Use watercolor inks to splatter black and brown paint on the Fantastic Front die cuts to add a natural, organic look.
Die cut a full set of flowers from Hawaiian Shores, Terracotta Tile, Sweet Blush, and Summer Sunrise cardstock.
For the leaves, splatter green watercolor paint onto Limeade Ice cardstock, then die-cut leaves and stems using the Into the Blooms: Daisies dies.

STEP 2:
🌼 Layer the floral die cuts together and glue the layers to create dimension.
🌸 Add a complementary center to the largest flowers for balance.
🌿 Set aside extra floral pieces for another project!

STEP 3:
Add double-sided adhesive to the inside flaps of the Fantastic Front die cuts.
Attach the Fantastic Fronts to each short side of one kraft panel, ensuring they are centered.
Sandwich the flaps between the two kraft panels by gluing the second kraft panel to the back, securing the flaps.
Make sure the back panel is glued close to the edges so it looks seamless.
Use small self-adhesive Velcro dots on the inside of the flaps to secure the closure.
(TIP: Attach the Velcro FIRST before securing the flaps to ensure a perfect fit.)

STEP 4:
Attach the Velcro closure to keep the gatefold secure.
🌼 Arrange three large daisies in the center of the card, equally spaced.
Use foam dots to give the flowers extra dimension.
🌸 Add smaller flowers around the large ones to create balance and a cohesive look.
🌿 Tuck leaves and stems behind the daisies and glue them in place.

STEP 5:
Stamp “Happy Birthday” in True Black ink onto white cardstock.
Die cut the sentiment using the Birthday Your Way II dies.

STEP 6:
Attach the sentiment to the card front using foam tabs for dimension.
Finish with yellow gem sticker pearls to accent the flowers!
