When it comes to crafting heartfelt cards, Melissa Phillips always inspires us with her creativity and attention to detail.
Today’s project, the Love Card, is no exception! Featuring the stunning Love to Layer: Rounded Hearts 2 dies, Melissa’s design showcases how you can create unique focal points using simple materials like yarn.
Follow along to learn how this charming card came together! 💖

STEP 1:
Die cut the largest Love to Layer: Rounded Hearts 2 die from cardboard. Using a hot glue gun, adhere the beginning of the yarn to the backside and start winding.

STEP 2 & 3
Continue wrapping yarn around the heart, securing it with hot glue on the backside as you go.
Ensure all areas of the heart are fully covered. Secure the end of the yarn to the backside once complete.

STEP 4:
Die cut the Love to Layer: Beautiful Bracket from cardboard.

STEP 5:
Cover the bracket with white paste and let it dry completely.

STEP 6:
Once dry, apply gold paint around the edges of the bracket for a touch of elegance.

STEP 7:
Stamp and heat emboss the Corner Decor images at the top and bottom of the bracket using gold embossing powder.

STEP 8:
Adhere the yarn-wrapped heart to the center of the bracket.

STEP 9:
Cover the front of your card base with soft, pink patterned paper.

STEP 10:
Stencil the Happy Hearts Stencil Collection onto a block of white cardstock. Adhere this block across the bottom of the card and layer beige trim over the top so the stenciling shows lightly through.

STEP 11:
Wrap seam binding around the center of the card and tie a bow on the left-hand side.

STEP 12:
Adhere the heart and bracket to the center of the card.

STEP 13:
Die cut and stamp a sentiment using the Forever and Always Sentiments and adhere it to the bottom-right corner of the card.

STEP 14:
Tuck a small bunch of posies under the yarn-wrapped heart, along with stamped and die-cut leaves from the With All My Heart set.

STEP 15:
Finish the card by embellishing with adhesive pearls for a touch of sparkle.
