Have you ever found yourself with leftover bits and pieces from a crafting session? This card is proof that those extras can come together to create something magical! Using the Deerest Blessings stamp set and a mix of stunning dies, designer Kelly Lunceford (@kellylunceford) transformed leftover elements into an ethereal holiday card that’s sure to bring joy.
Follow along step-by-step and see how to bring your own extras to life!
Step 1: Cut an A2 panel from Stamper’s Select White Cardstock. Using the Seeing Stars Stencil Collection, blend stars onto the panel with Blueberry Sky Ink and Spring Rain Ink.
Step 2: Add splatters of Blueberry Sky Ink over the stenciled stars using a watercolor brush for added texture.
Step 3: Use a blender brush to lightly shade around the edges of the panel. Don’t worry about harsh lines—this panel will be trimmed down to 4” x 5 1/4”.
Step 4: Gather leftover pieces! I used a poinsettia from Into the Blooms: Poinsettia, tiny snowflakes from Border Bling: Snow Flakes, and the frame from Stained Glass Window. Die-cut additional snowflakes as needed, embellishing them with PTI Gems: Rainbow and adhesive pearls.
Step 5: For dimension, stack and adhere three layers of the Stained Glass Window die cuts onto the star panel. Attach the completed background panel to an A2 Dark Indigo Cardstock card base.
Step 6: Arrange the poinsettia and snowflake details using liquid glue and foam squares. Spritz the card with shimmer spray for a touch of magic, then add glitter to the poinsettia for extra sparkle.
Finally, heat emboss a sentiment from Deerest Blessings onto a strip of Dark Indigo Cardstock and attach it to the poinsettia with foam squares.
This card proves that no piece is too small to save! Let your creativity shine by turning extras into stunning designs that feel fresh and festive.
