Trees ‘n Patterns + Cookie Swap

November 25, 2024      Papertrey Ink      Leave a Comment

I hope you’ve enjoyed previewing our new November products so far.  We’re not quite done yet and we’ve saved the best for last!  Introducing the new Trees ‘n Patterns stamps and dies and Cookie Swap dies.  We’ve got you covered for Christmas crafting and hours of fun with these new products.  Let’s jump right into projects from our Featured Designers Seeka and Kelly!

Our Trees ‘n Patterns stamps and dies are irresistibly cute and so unique for the holiday season and on into the cold, Winter months.  This group of products allows you to piece together the cutest trees with different patterns for each layer.  We’ve got gingham, polka dots, stripes and solids.  You’ll also find optional tree trunks, stars, and the sweetest of sentiments.

Seeka’s card couldn’t be cuter.  Look at the fun, bold and bright colors she’s used.  Seeka always inspires me to think outside the box when it comes to color combinations.  Don’t you love those gingham layers?  Trees ‘n Patterns also allows you to stamp on one base layer, or stamp individual pieces to pop up using dimensional adhesive.  Even die cut the layers from patterned paper, vellum, or felt.  Imagine all of the possibilities!

SUPPLY LIST:

STAMPS:  Trees ‘n Patterns

PAPER: Lilac Grace

DIES:  Trees ‘n Patterns, Love To Layer: Arches

Ready for a cookie swap?  We’ve taken this fun Christmas tradition to a whole new level by creating a paper variety!  Create frosted sugar cookies in stars, trees, and candy cane shapes.  You’ll also get to choose from cherry or raisin filled, or any filling you’d like to add, complete with heart and star cutouts.  We’ve even included all the tiny details you’ll need to create reindeer and snowman cookies, and the sweetest chocolate chip cookies you’ve ever seen.  You’ll also find a plate, baking sheet, cup of hot cocoa, and all the fixings to make your cookie swap unforgettable.

Look at this cute card created by Kelly, complete with a quilted oven mitt, spatula, and plate of cookies set aside just for Santa! You’ll have endless hours of fun creating cookies for your cookie swap and can even include children in the process.  Kelly has added tiny gingerbread cookie buttons that look perfect lined up on her cookie sheet, alongside our Cookie Swap dies.  Her cookies even have a fresh from the oven browning around the edges!

TIPS:

  • Use glitter and glaze to mimic sugar and icing.
  • Try using pearls to cover up the button holes and for additional “sweet” details.
  • I used the quilted background to reinforce the quilting of the oven mitt.

SUPPLY LIST:

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: Holiday Tags, The Bigs Winter Sentiments, This is Big Sentiments: Merry Christmas

INK: Scarlet Jewel, Versamark, Vintage Jadeite, Pure Poppy

PAPER: Weathervane, white, Pure Poppy, Pale Peony, Mint Julep

DIES: Cookie Swap, Cover Plate: Quilted, Border Bling: Skinny Ric Rac, Wrap-It Ribbons, Just Tags, The Bigs Winter Sentiments

OTHER: assorted Distress Oxide inks, gingerbread buttons, adhesive pearls, Nuvo Crystal Glaze

Notice how Kelly used our beautiful, new Winter Pines Hot Foil Plate to create her shimmery background on these cards.  I love how she’s propped up one cookie on the tiny oven mitt and nestled her sentiments from The Bigs Christmas Sentiments on her baking sheets.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen such adorable miniature cookies before!

TIPS:

  • Try using a large sentiment on the cookie sheet and then surround it with cookies.
  • I love the contrast of red foil on colored cardstock; try using different combinations!
  • Originally this project was going to be a set of tags; sometimes it’s fun to make shaped tags with larger dies, like the cookie sheet.

SUPPLY LIST:

STAMPS: The Bigs Christmas Sentiments

PAPER: Weathervane, Pure Poppy, Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, white

Our last card for this release is an extra special one, don’t you think?  Kelly has used our Cookie Swap dies to create a plate of cookies for Santa, even including a cup of hot cocoa and marshmallows.  Truly, every little detail has been perfectly executed for this delightful set of dies.  I love how Kelly added a sentiment directing this card specifically to Santa himself.  She’s used the North Pole Mail to highlight the theme of this card, adding in a large bow from our Into the Blooms:  Swag dies.  Our lovely Christmas Laurel Hot Foil Plate creates the perfect frame for her plate of cookies. How perfectly charming!

TIPS:

  • Use the highest heat setting for the hot foil and let it heat for 25 seconds.
  • For ease, die cut all of the cookie pieces from white card stock and then color them with ink.
  • Have fun embellishing your cookies just like you would real cookies!
