Penny here, and I’m so excited to be with you today as we kick off our very, merry November Countdown! I will be your guide as we continue with our holiday celebrations and move onto Winter and the New Year with products such as a darling, Build-A-Hat die, lovely, new Big Blooms dies, and so much more you won’t want to miss!
Here at Papertrey Ink, it’s our passion to bring you designs that you will love creating with. If you like a more simple style, every product we release has elements that can take center stage to create a simple, yet designed, focal point.
If you like a little more detail, we pack each set with as many images as possible so you have the freedom to create exactly what you want.
Each of our newly released products can be used in many different ways to fit your particular style, and I can’t wait to show you these inspiring designs.
Today’s a great day to grab a cup of hot cocoa, cozy up next to the fireplace and enjoy what our designers have prepared to share with you. We’ll begin with our new The Bigs Winter Sentiments stamps and dies, Love to Layer: Garnished Edges dies, It’s Time stamps and dies, Cornered: Clock dies, and our beautiful, Clock Hot Foil Plate.
Melody’s first card is absolutely perfect for Winter, isn’t it? I love how she’s used our new The Bigs Winter Sentiments in the lovely blue hues associated with chilly January days. You’ll find three different large sentiments included in The Bigs Winter Sentiments each celebrating the holidays. Choose from a gorgeous Peace on Earth ornament, Have a Holly Jolly Christmas, and Let it Snow, complete with the most adorable snowman that takes place of the “O” in snow. I think you’ll love our new Love to Layer: Garnished Edges dies too. They come in three different sizes and Melody has used the largest size on her card, cutting it from our darling Bitty Big Spring Rain paper.
Notice how Melody used our Geometric Snowflakes Stencil to create her icy background. She began with Blueberry Sky cardstock and added Fresh Snow ink over her stencil to give it the most stunning, reverse-effect pattern. I definitely want to try this, how about you? And our Snowflake Banner die looks perfect draped across the front of her card. Our products work so effortlessly together.
TIPS:
- Stencil with white ink on dark cardstock to add to the winter feel.
- Tuck snowflakes around the image and add gems to the center of the snowflakes.

This second card of Melody’s couldn’t be more beautiful! She’s used the Peace on Earth ornament from The Bigs Winter Sentiments, stamping it in Enchanted Evening, created such a stunning color scheme to begin her card with.
Have you seen our new Winter Foliage Stencil Collection? It was released last month and is absolutely perfect for the winter months. Melody has used this stencil collection to create her background. You’ll find pine sprigs, berries, winter branches and more! It’s the perfect accompaniment for Melody’s focal point.
TIPS:
- Use the Winter Foliage Stencil to create the winter background.
- Lightly splatter white paint to add to the feel of snow.
- Add clear gems for some sparkle.

Our new It’s Time stamps and dies, Cornered: Clock dies, and Clock Hot Foil Plate are stunners! You’ll find that the sentiments included allow you to use this set for many different occasions such as anniversaries, graduations, birthdays, sympathy, thinking of you, and more. Betty has created this gorgeous card by using our Clock Hot Foil Plate to create her background. She’s also used elements from our It’s Time stamps and dies to add details such as clock hands, and numbers that all add extra charm. Don’t you love this card and sentiment!
TIPS:
- Blend various mediums of golds to create a vibrant effect. Here I used gold watercolor splatters, gold embossing powders, and gold foil with a continuous background color to create interest.

On Betty’s second card, she’s used just a portion of her clock, cutting off the part that extends off the side. What a great idea! Our It’s Time clock is a multi-step stamp that comes complete with a solid layer, optional weathered layer, and two different styles of numbers and clock hands. Her color combinations is gorgeous, and I love how she’s stamped over our new Winter Pine Hot Foil Plate images to create a custom background…another idea I’d love to try!

- Use the sentiment to create an added layer to the background in a tonal shade for visual effect.

What’s not to love about Betty’s last card? It has the most beautiful mixed media, collage-style look and feel to it. I love how she’s added in the charming deer from our Deerest Blessings stamp set, and tucked her It’s Time clock behind it to add an unexpected layer. Betty shows how this set can be used for so many different occasions!
TIPS:
- Layer several pattern papers to create visual textures, yet keep a cohesive theme with tonal colors.
- Add some distressed gold embossing to elements for added texture and color.
