Are you ready for Day 2 of our November Countdown?  I have been waiting patiently to share with you our delightful, new Build-A-Hat dies and gorgeous, New Year products.  Talk about playful, fun, unique, and over-the-top beautiful!  Just wait until you see what our designers have created with these new products!

Look at this cute card our designer Brenda created using the adorable Build-A-Hat dies!  This new die collection is overflowing with all the fixings you’ll need to build your own Winter beanie.  You’ll find the cap, different pom poms for the top, zigzags, stitches, Ric Rac, a heart, star, snowflake, and more.  This delightful set allows you to custom make beanies for everyone and anyone!

I love the color scheme Brenda chose to use on her card.  It’s perfect for Winter.  Notice how she used the pierced dies included in our Build-A-Hat collection to create a stitched pattern across her beanie.  I love how she used zigzags and polka dots to create the cutest custom-made Winter cap.  And, don’t you love how she used our Watercolor Plaid Stencils and Border Bling:  Skinny Ric Rac to create her background and frame?!  There are truly so many things you can do with these creative dies.

TIPS:

  • Add darker ink around the edges of your die-cuts to create dimension and make them stand out from your background.
  • Use a white gel pen to add faux stitching for a homespun feel.
  • Add embellishments in a visual trio to draw the eye to the focal point and sentiment.

Isn’t it fun to create cards for the New Year?  What a great way to wish someone all the wonderful blessings the New Year will bring!  We have got you covered in this category with our gorgeous, new Elegant Edges:  Clock, Celebrate the New Year stamps, and perfectly designed Line It Up:  New Year dies.  There are so many creative ways to use these new products and Bobbi is sharing just one of them.

The Elegant Edges:  Clock dies can be used to adorn the top or bottom edge of your cards, or can be used as the centerpiece and focal point.  You’ll find a clock face with numbers and hands just waiting for your imagination.  I love how Bobbi turned her card into a birthday or graduation card, using these very same products…so creative and versatile, right?  Our Line It Up:  New Year dies come in a variety of three different sentiments including Let’s Celebrate, Happy New Year, and Cheers to New Beginnings.  The Celebrate the New Year stamps are the perfect staple in your crafting stash as they cover so many sentiments that are perfect for wishing others well throughout the New Year.

Bobbi has even shared directions on how she made this bright and beautiful card:

This card is 5″ X 7″ in size and uses the Elegant Edges: Clock Dies to create a unique and fun front flap birthday card!

  1. Cut the following from white cardstock: 5″ X 8-1/2″ piece of Stampers’ Select White cardstock for the back panel of the card, Front flap using the Elegant Edges: Clock Dies flap die.
  2. Score 1-1/2″ in from one short side of the back side panel.
  3. Cut 5″ wide X 2-1/2″ tall piece from Hawaiian Shores cardstock for the front.
  4. Cut from True Black cardstock, the “Let’s CELEBRATE”  sentiment using the Line it Up: New Years Dies.
  5. Cut from Soft Stone and True Black cardstock, the clock face using the Elegant Edges: Clock Dies flap die. Adhere the black numbers and clock hands to the Soft Stone clock face.
  6. Position and adhere the back panel of the card to the front panel, folding over the 1-1/2″ flap to the front card flap. Attach the teal strip OVER this flap to conceal it.
  7. Attach the “Let’s Celebrate” sentiment to the front flap at the bottom edge of the Hawaiian Shores cardstock.
  8. Stamp in black and die cut the “It’s time to celebrate you!” sentiment from the “It’s Time” stamp set. Attach to the front panel, right above the “Let’s Celebrate” die cut.
