Hasn’t this been the most beautiful month of new Papertrey Ink products? I personally think we’ve saved the very best for last as you’ll see. Introducing the new Angelic Sentiments stamps and dies, Border Bling: Framed in Nature die, Winter Foliage Stencils, and our stunning Stained Glass Windows dies. Let’s jump right into the projects, starting with this stunner from Liane!
Our Angelic Sentiments stamp set is full of the most original sentiments I have yet to see! They all center around the world “angel” and each will warm the recipients heart. Liane has used the coordinating Angelic Sentiments die as her focal point and it is stunning! Allowing this die to take center stage is easy as can be, all you have to do is select a sentiment from the many that are included, add a few embellishments, and in an instant you have the most memorable card ready to give to someone special.
I love how Liane used greenery and berries from our The Bigs: Christmas Sentiments stamps and dies to create a wreath around her angel. She’s added in Build-A-Stocking and Into the Blooms: Swag die cuts to create even more fullness and to complete her look. Don’t you love this sentiment? I would love to receive a card just like this.
TIPS:
- Use metallic silver cardstock when die cutting leaves and sprigs from your dies. This creates shimmer and extra shine to your holiday projects!
- Lightly sponge Sweet Blush ink over the bottom curves of the angel’s wings to create softness and help highlight the details.

Nina used our new Border Bling: Framed in Nature die to create her intricate and detailed background. You may notice that this particular pattern can also be found in wings from our new Build-An-Angel dies. How fun would it be to use these products together?
Doesn’t Nina’s angel cut from silver metallic cardstock look amazing? These dies truly make creating lovely Christmas cards so simple. They’d be a great addition when mass producing your holiday cards this year. They also make the most adorable tags and ornaments as you’ll see many of our designers have done in the projects to follow.
TIPS:
- Highlight a die-cut sentiment by layering two contrasting colors a bit askew.
- Pages from old books and hymnals make great backgrounds for a vintage look.
- Using tone-on-tone layering with an intricate die-cut makes a beautiful background and brings attention to the focal point.

Are you ready for my most favorite products from this release? I’m so excited to share our elegant Stained Glass Window dies with you! They come in three different designs, each of them arched, intricate, and ready for your own personal creativity to bring them to life. Try adding color to each piece with Copics, ink blending, watercolor markers or pencils, patterned paper, vellum, etc. The possibilities are truly endless. Brenda has created a card and tag using these dies and they couldn’t be more stunning! Just imagine them in real life.
I can’t believe how realistic Brenda’s stained glass window looks on this beautiful card of hers. Each separate piece has been thoughtfully colored and creates such a realistic effect. Framed in gold with a sentiment from our The Bigs: Christmas Sentiments, and this card is unforgettable! Notice her gorgeous background? Brenda has used our lovely, new Winter Foliage Stencil Collection, which is a multi-step stencil allowing you to add pine sprigs, berries, and wintery leaves to your background.
Brenda’s tag uses the same technique used on her card to create her stained glass window. She’s layered it over one of our Love to Layer: Soft Ridges die cuts and this time has used silver embossing powder and metallic cardstock. I can’t get over how beautiful this is!
TIPS:
- To create a stained glass look: make an impression with the die using an embossing pad. Color with Copic markers and fussy cut. Cut additional die-cuts from heavyweight white cardstock, stack and adhere on top of colored die-cut. Fill openings with Glossy Accents. When dry, adhere mirror cardstock on top.
- Look at shaped dies in your stash to create tags. Many of the Lovely Layers series dies are perfect to create tags.
- Add Versamark ink and embossing powder around the outside of the tag for a little extra shine.
- Add a cover plate die over a stenciled background for additional texture.
Teresa has used the long, thin stained glass window die on her card. I love how it realistically glows against her Dark Indigo background. Her use of our Cascading Dots Hot Foil Plate is absolutely perfect on this card. And, notice her addition of one of our Angelic Sentiments dies cut from gold metallic cardstock. Beautiful!
TIPS:
- Instead of cutting the windows die with a die cut machine, use an embossing mat to get an impression of the windows then…
- Color each window with your favorite coloring medium. I used Copic markers.
- Cut out window frames die, and then cut again with Fun Foam for an intricate raised look!
- Don’t forget to decorate the windows with your other favorite holiday products! Angels, Holly leaves, Snowflakes, Poinsettia’s and hot foils plates for backgrounds.

Teresa’s next card looks so beautiful as she’s used our Stained Glass Windows die nestled inside our Exquisite Leaf Hot Foil Plate.
