Welcome to our final day of the April Countdown.  Here at Papertrey Ink we love to bring you tons of variety.  If you like more simple designs or something a little more challenging, we have you covered.  Each of our newly released products can be used in so many different ways to fit your particular style, we are excited to show you how they come to life!

Hi, it’s Melissa, and I’m so thrilled to share our new products with you.  We absolutely love bringing you the most amazing images made from the highest quality materials for you to add to your creative toolkit.  I’m going to show you what I created with these wonderful products and then we’ll show you what the other designers made. The products I’ve used on my cards today are the new Hats Off to Dad dies, the Perfect Stripes and Argyle Stencils, and the Father’s Day Sentiments stamps and dies.  So many special, new products this month!

I love the new Hats Off to Dad dies!  Imagine creating custom hats for the men in your life and even the ladies?  I used the fun Camouflage Stencil Collection over a die cut Ocean Tides cap.  I stenciled in ink colors Weathervane, Pine Feather, Dark Chocolate, and True Black.  I love how it turned out!  The brim is a separate die cut and was cut from Kraft cardstock. I used a sentiment from the new Hats Off to Dad on the brim.

Behind my cap, I used Ocean Tides cardstock and the new Perfect Stripes Stencils.  These stencils are slightly different than our Playful Stripes Stencils, as their lines are straighter and a bit tighter in design.  I stenciled in True Black and Pinefeather.  I then layered on a vellum, die cut Love to Layer:  Oval.

I added two die cut strips of paper, cut using Bitty Big Enchanted Evening and white cardstock and the Ripped Banners dies.  These are perfect for masculine cards!  Before adhering my hat, I stamped stars down the middle of the white strip using Weathervane and Classic Kraft ink.  The adorable patch layering on the center of my hat uses an images and sentiment from the Hats Off to Dad stamp and coordinating dies.  These products are so much fun to create with!  Wait until you see what our designers have created.

TIPS:

  • Use sentiment images to create colorful and meaningful text backgrounds

TIPS:

  • For crisp stencil lines use a spray adhesive on the back of the stencil or a sticky mat to hold the stencil in place. Take your time.
  • Use fun stencils to create patterns on the hat

TIPS:

  • Mix and Match stamp and dies sets to create custom designs

My next card uses the new Father’s Day Sentiments stamps and dies and Argyle Stencils.  I can’t think of a sentiment I love more for my own Dad than this one.  I began my card using a base of Kraft cardstock and stenciled my argyles in Pure Poppy, Classic Kraft, and Dark Indigo.  I love the results of these stencils?  They are foolproof and so much fun to use and play with.

I was going for a Patriotic card, so next, I added a strip of vintage sheet music across the center of my card, topped with a Pure Poppy die cut Elegant Edges:  Decor piece.  Next I added a strip of Bitty Big Enchanted Evening paper across the center of my Elegant Edges.

To finish, I added a white, die cut Love to Layer:  Rectangle topped with a burlap circle cut using the Love to Layer:  Charming Brackets die.  I added my die cut and stamped sentiment using the Father’s Day Sentiments stamp set and my stamped stars, once again using the Hats Off to Dad stamp set.  Anyone else love creating masculine cards as much as I do?  I find it so inspiring and refreshing!
