Welcome to our Day 3 of the February Countdown.  Here at Papertrey Ink we love to bring you tons of variety.  If you like more simple designs or something a little more challenging, we have you covered.  Each of our newly released products can be used in so many different ways to fit your particular style, we are excited to show you how they come to life!

Hi, it’s Melissa, and I’m so thrilled to share our new products with you.  We absolutely love bringing you the most amazing images made from the highest quality materials for you to add to your creative toolkit.  I’m going to show you what I created with these wonderful products and then we’ll show you what the other designers made. I’ve used the lovely new Reflections:  February stamp set and dies and Spring Silhouettes dies on my card for you today.  These products are SO unique and special!

The new Reflections:  February stamp set is just the perfect size to fit on so many Papertrey Ink mat dies, but coordinates perfectly with the new Reflections:  February largest die.  You’ll find three different sizes of the coordinating die and will love using them on so many of your handmade cards.  I stamped my Reflections on a die cut vellum circle, heat embossing in white and then layered it over a second die cut circle, cut from Harvest Gold cardstock.

I layered my Reflections:  February over a Kraft background that I stenciled with the Watercolor Plaid stencils using Fresh Snow ink.  I added a die cut scallop border, cut from book print paper using the On the Edge:  Scallops Collection.  This was just added to one edge of the card and I love the fun layering it adds.

My florals were added last and I used Into the Blooms:  Gerber Daisies, eggs from the new Into the Blooms:  Spring Nest, and lovely flowers from a new die collection you’ll be hearing all about tomorrow, called He is Risen.  The tiny bow tying my bundle of blooms together is from the Weather it Together stamp and die collections.

He is Risen card

SUPPLY LIST:

STAMPS: Weather it Together, Reflections:  February

INK: Simply Chartreuse, Pinefeather, Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, Green Parakeet, Fresh Snow, Summer Sunrise

PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Lemon Tart, Sheer Basics Vellum

DIES: Weather it Together, Reflections:  February, On the Edge:  Scallops, Into the Blooms:  Spring Nest,  Love to Layer:  Scalloped Circles

OTHER: Watercolor Plaid Stencils, sequins, white embossing powder, Distress Spray, Stickles glitter, book print, white embossing powder

TIPS:

  • For a watercolored image look, dab inks or stains on working surface, letting some of the inks blend. Ink stamp image on that, then stamp on watercolor paper. Color image in with watered down inks. Add more water to the leftover inks/stains, then swipe or dab cardstock to lift colors.
  • Spritz watercolored cardstock with water, then lift inks to add more texture. Stamp random text to add a more vintage look.
  • Place adhesive underneath the center of the vellum diecut flowers, then place the gem to hide the adhesive marks.

My second card uses the beautiful and intricate Spring Silhouettes die cuts.  This gorgeous set of dies allows you to build a Spring or Easter scene inside or around an egg-shaped die cut.  This die collection is definitely one of my all-time favorites…it’s just so special and creates the most beautiful projects.

I began with a Watercolor Plaid stenciled background and then layered my elements over the top.  I used a die cut Psalm Reflections:  July mat layer and die cut my large egg from the Spring Silhouettes from the center of it.  This provided the perfect spot for my scene and I love the dimension it adds!

Spring Silhouettes comes with two bunnies, a chick, flowers, leaves, vines, and more!  I used all three of the cute critters on my card, sponging ink in soft pastels over them to give them some color and shading.  Before layering them inside my egg, I stamped a sentiment from the Thoughts of Spring stamp set near the top.  This left plenty of space below to add my greenery and bunny.  What a fun set of dies this is to create with.  It’s a must have for your Spring crafting stash!
