Welcome to our Day 2 of the December Countdown.  Here at Papertrey Ink we love to bring you tons of variety.  If you like more simple designs or something a little more challenging, we have you covered.  Each of our newly released products can be used in so many different ways to fit your particular style, we are excited to show you how they come to life!

Hi, it’s Melissa, and I’m so thrilled to share our new products with you.  We absolutely love bringing you the most amazing images made from the highest quality materials for you to add to your creative toolkit.  I’m going to show you what I created with these wonderful products and then we’ll show you what the other designers made. I’ve used the gorgeous, new You are Loved stamps and dies, the Cornered:  Floral Swirls dies, the delightful Fanciful Flourishes stamp set and dies, Psalm Reflections:   December stamp, die, and hot foil plate, and the Elegant Edges:  Floral Swirls dies.

I began by creating my background using Mint Julep cardstock and the new Cornered:  Floral Swirls dies.  I absolutely love these swirls!  They are sweet and elegant and add so much interest!  And, if you’re an Aqua Mist lover, give Mint Julep a try just for fun.  I think you’ll love this refreshing color just as much as I do.

Next came a white Love to Layer:  Heart that I adhered to the center of my card.  I embellished over it using the beautiful, new You are Loved stamp set and dies.  This lovely set is a partial wreath with several different flowers you can arrange around your wreath.  It’s such a fun concept!  And, this set comes with several different sentiments that center around love, anniversary, and wedding.

I stamped my sentiment on the smallest Love to Layer:  Heart using a sentiment from the You are Loved stamp set.  Now for the gorgeous Fanciful Flourishes…do I ever love them!  I die cut and then stamped them in Pure Poppy and tucked them in here and there around my hearts and wreath.  As you’ll soon see, I can’t stop using these flourishes!  They truly add so much flair to any card and are the perfect finishing touch.

Next up is the lovely, new Psalm Reflections:  December stamp set, coordinating die, AND Hot Foil Plate.  You’ll love this new Psalm as it is so joyous, cheerful, and beautifully done.

I began this card using a block of white cardstock and die cut the bottom edge using the new Elegant Edges:  Floral Swirls dies.  Oh, does this group of dies create the most beautiful decorative edge!  I layered it over my Kraft cardstock base, letting the bottom edge show just a bit.  Next I die cut the Psalm Reflections:  December bracket from Kraft cardstock and then ran it through my die cut machine with the coordinating hot foil plate to create an embossed edge.  I used a white gel pen to bring out the embossed detail and splattered paint over the surface area before stamping my Psalm.

I used the Into the Blooms:  Fun Flowers around the edges of my Psalm and tucked in Fanciful Flourishes stamped in Classic Kraft ink to further embellish.  The die cut pieces left over from the Elegant Edges:  Floral Swirls were tucked in to add more movement and character too.

SUPPLY LIST:

TIPS:

  • Use a soft blending brush to add ink over a hot foiled design
  • When adding accent die cuts to a card (like flowers) place them behind and over the sentiment label

TIPS:

  • Use a panel with cut out designs as an overlay to a full cover (infinity) shaker
  • Hot foil plates can be used on metallic cardstock for extra shine
