Winter in the City + Psalm Reflections: November

November 17, 2023      Papertrey Ink      Leave a Comment

Welcome to our Day 1 of the November Countdown.  Here at Papertrey Ink we love to bring you tons of variety.  If you like more simple designs or something a little more challenging, we have you covered.  Each of our newly released products can be used in so many different ways to fit your particular style, we are excited to show you how they come to life!

Hi, it’s Melissa, and I’m so thrilled to share our new products with you.  We absolutely love bringing you the most amazing images made from the highest quality materials for you to add to your creative toolkit.  I’m going to show you what I created with these wonderful products and then we’ll show you what the other designers made. I’ve used the gorgeous new Winter in the City stamp set and dies on my card today.

Winter in the City takes me back to “It’s a Wonderful Life”.  It’s classic, timeless, and full of holiday charm.  You’ll find a variety of houses and buildings, snow covered trees, bare branches, a snowman, and more inside this thoughtful set.

I used the gorgeous On the Border:  Splendid Snowflakes Frame die behind my winter scene.  I then used one of the new dies from our Psalm Reflections:  November die collection and built my scene on there.  I sponged Aqua Mist ink over the upper portion of the die and then added falling snowflakes using the darling image from the Winter in the City stamp set.

I added one of the two sentiments found in this set across the top of my card.  Even the font used on the sentiment is vintage feeling and timeless.  I then built my scene, stamping the sidewalk first and then layering on my charming houses, buildings, bench, lamp posts, snowman, trees, and more.  Winter in the City will quickly become a favorite of yours, just as it has mine.  It works for not only for Christmas but throughout winter as well.

TIPS:

  • Layer monochromatic frames to showcase a scene.

TIPS:

  • Don’t be afraid to use fun pops of colors for a fun scene design.

TIPS:

  • Use a couple of elements from a scene stamp set to create different designs.
  • Layer tone on tone cardstock and ink with a stencil for a soft pattern.
  • Use nontraditional pops of color for a festive and fun Christmas card.

Next up is the lovely, new Psalm Reflections:  November stamp set and coordinating dies.  You’ll love this new Psalm as it is so joyous, cheerful, and beautifully done.

I layered my Psalm Reflections:  November die cuts, stamping the bottom layer first and then turning my top die cut horizontally, and stamping the center portion of my sentiment across the top.  This created a layered, sentiment that added just a bit of dimensional and character.

The Into the Blooms:  Poinsettia dies were used to create flowers to embellish surrounding areas of my Psalm.  I also used berries from the Into the Blooms:  Christmas Sprigs die collection.  I sponged Hibiscus Burst ink over the surface area and then splatters Distress Spray over the top.
