Christmas Shakers + Show Your Stripes + Just Sentiments: Winter Wonderland + Winter Bench

For all of you tag-lovers out there, today’s products are just for you!  Introducing the cutest Christmas Shaker dies in town as well as the Show Your Stripes Stencils and Just Sentiments:  Winter Wonderland.

My card uses the darling bell from the new Christmas Shaker die collection.  This set comes with three shapes including a bell, tree, and ornament.  These sweet dies are interactive and full of personality as you fill them sequins, glitter, confetti and so much more.  Each shape is versatile as well and would make darling tags to embellish your holiday packages or look perfect as the focal point on your holiday cards too.

The bottom layer of my bell was cut from Bitty Big Mint Julep paper.  I then filled it with Moonshine sequins and topped it with a layer of vellum to create a soft, translucent effect.  The top layer of my bell was cut from white glitter cardstock.

I created a junk bow for the top of my bell and added in Into the Blooms:  Poinsettias and Tag Creations:  Modern Gift die cuts.  One of the things I love most about these shaker dies is adding embellishments to dress them up and make each one extra special.  I’ve used the Border Bling:  Snow Flakes die behind my bell and saved a few of the snowflakes cut from this die to further embellish my bell.  The sweet striped border around my card was created using the new Show Your Stripes Stencils and my sentiment is from the new Just Sentiments:  Winter Wonderland stamp set.

There are so many Design Team projects to love.  I know they’ll inspire you as they certainly have me.

Our last set of products before our November Countdown wraps up has been hard to keep under wraps…it’s absolutely adorable and full of winter magic.  Introducing the new Winter Bench stamp set and dies.

The Winter Bench stamp set comes with all of the fixings you need to create a winter scene for the porch or to greet visitors as they enter your home for the holidays.  You’ll find a bench, cozy blanket, pillows, tiny Christmas tree, wreath, shelf, stocking, signs, and more.

I love red accents in my home, so I was excited to create a red bench from which to build my scene.  I layered it over a background cut using the Cover Plate:  Stitched Florals die, which creates such a subtle, patterned base.

Across the top of my card, I used one of the new Snowflake Banners dies, cut from white glitter cardstock.  I wanted just a bit of frill somewhere on my card to dress it up very subtly and this provided the perfect accent.  I then began layering on darling trinkets to create my winter, porch scene.  The sign “O Holy Night” sign at the top has several different sentiments or phrases you can choose from to stamp inside.  Don’t you love the tiny shelf where you can hand stockings and a wreath?  Truly delightful!

Supplies Used:

STAMPS: Winter Bench

INK: Olive Twist, Pure Poppy, Spring Moss, Dark Chocolate, New Leaf, Scarlet Jewel, Fine Linen, Ocean Tides, Tropical Teal, Aqua Mist, Ripe Avocado, Soft Stone

PAPER: Stamper’s Select White

DIES: Winter Bench, Snowflake Banners, Border Bling:  Snow Flakes, Cover Plate:  Stitched Florals

TIPS:

  • Create a layered, textured background using the same colors with a fun stencil for a pop of contrast
  • Use a die without removing the inner pieces to create a different feel.
  • Combine elements from one set to another to create a different look.  Here I used the bench to create an outdoor park bench sign.

TIPS:

  • Create a soft background using a stencil for a subtle pattern
  • Create fun designs by combining pattern paper and stamped images.
  • Use the same design elements into cardmaking as you do with your home decor.
