On Day 2 of our Papertrey Ink September Countdown, I’m excited to introduce you to the darling, new Merry Christmas Tree stamp set and dies and the Bows Galore die collection.  Both of these new sets will help make your holiday card-making all the merrier!  Let’s get started.

The Merry Christmas Tree is made up of words, leaves, pines, florals, and berries, each placed just so, in order to form the shape of a tree.  Thanks to the coordinating die, you can create quick and easy cards very effortlessly, and the results are stunning.  The designers have use the coordinating tree die to create their Merry Christmas Tree.  I chose to use just the stamps and create a tree of my own, to show a different way of using the products.

I love how the words taper down from the star at the top to a trunk at the bottom…such a delightful idea!  I added in berries, leaves, sprigs, etc. to fill in empty spots on my tree, letting images overlap a bit to create fullness.

At the top of my tree, I added a star from the Merry Christmas Tree die collection, and then a secondary topper, a bow, from the Bows Galore die collection.  I can’t begin to tell you how much I love this new set of dies…they are brilliant!  Die cut bows in all different sizes and shapes to embellish to your heart’s content.  We all know that bows go perfectly well with florals and holiday arrangements, so this set comes just in time.

I finished the inside of my card and brought in elements from the outside of my card.  I stamped my Inside Greetings:  Peace sentiment on a die cut Love to Layer:  Oval.  I then added tiny die cut gifts, cut using the Merry Christmas Tree dies.  This set comes with the bow, die cut from black.  On my plaid present, and at the top of my oval, I’ve used the Bows Galore die set to create my bows.  I added some greenery from the Merry Christmas Tree stamp set.  Super festive and fun!

STAMPS: Merry Christmas Tree, Inside Greetings:  Peace

Are you a wreath lover?  This next, darling set of stamps and dies is just for you!  Introducing the new Merry Berry Wreath!  And because we crafters love our layers, we’ve got the new Love to Layer:  Squares die collection.

The Merry Berry Wreath is one of those sets that just makes me happy!  I hope it does the same for you.  The wreath comes together in just two steps…the berries, and the twiggy interior that connects the berries.  I stamped my wreath in Berry Sorbet and Pure Poppy for the berries, and Ocean Tides for the interior.  I went over my berries with watermark ink and then added a shimmer embossing powder to create some fun shine.

I added a bit of layering to my wreath, just under the bow from the Merry Berry Wreath, using bits from the Into the Blooms:  Pine collection and a snowflake from the Layered Snowflakes: Crystal set.  I cut them from white so they wouldn’t take anything away from the beautiful berries, but would just lend a bit of shine and movement near the top.

I actually created my background by using the berries from the Merry Berry Wreath, so there are plenty of creative ways to use this darling stamp set.  The new Love to Layer:  Squares die were used behind my wreath.  The bottom square, and largest, was cut from vellum, and the middle square was cut from Bitty Big Sweet Blush paper.  I wanted to tie the “Peace” die cut word, from the Merry Berry Wreath, into a secondary sentiment from the new Inside Greetings:  Peace stamp set.  A touch of gingham paper from the Bottles & Blooms paper collection brings in all of the pinks, reds, and berry colors.
