Hi everybody, welcome to our new feature What do I do with this? For this challenge our designers will get to try out some of these new tools and share the projects they created using them. We’ve got some fun, new things coming to the Papertrey Ink store and our designers will show you how to use them so you’ll be comfortable incorporating them into your card-making and gift-giving. Stay tuned for exciting and creative things coming your way! We want to share what our designers love with you, and this gives you a first-hand look into their crafty-faves!

Take time to RELAX, after all, it is your day!

How perfect is this sentiment from the newest PTI release set, Scene Everywhere: At the Lake? The typography is gorgeous, and the words are appropriate for so many situations: birthday, teacher appreciation, graduation, Mother’s Day or Father’s Day. All of the wheels are turning for me!

I’ve paired the sentiment with PTI Dahlias and PTI Posies & Springs with the coordinating dies to accent a PTI Large White Window Coffee Bag and a card, creating a simple ensemble that anyone in your life would be thrilled to receive as a thoughtful recognition.

The PTI Large White Window Coffee Bag’s really do help you create an effortless gift. I added a panel of Aqua Mist cardstock cut with Elegant Edges : Lace Die and decorated with blooms in contrasting orange and gold. After filling with cookies, the flap of the closed bag folds down over the top of the Aqua Mist cardstock piece, and I added a bow to finish.

PRO-TIP: My local grocery store makes beautiful cookies on-site. They look homemade and taste wonderful, so that is how I roll. Instantly, you’ve given yourself 3 hours of extra time to craft.

To create the card, I layered a few blooms around the sentiment on a white panel.

When working on white panels, I love to add a scored box to the backside of the cardstock panel. The scored frame is simple, but adds just a bit of pizazz to your final design. Next, I flip the white cardstock back to the front side and add the sentiment and images. I love how effortless the blooms are to arrange. Add a few leaves from the coordinating PTI Posies & Sprigs set to finish your design.

The white panel is matted by an Aqua Mist cardstock layer just larger than the white panel, and then added to the Aqua Mist card base. The tone-on-tone of the Aqua Mist layer frames the image while keeping the design clean and effortless.

My challenge is to use your stamps and dies to accent a gift bag or tin to create special packaging that instantly lets the recipient know, this person thinks I am special.
