Hi everybody, welcome to our new feature What do I do with this?  For this challenge our designers will get to try out some of these new tools and share the projects they created using them.  We’ve got some fun, new things coming to the Papertrey Ink store and our designers will show you how to use them so you’ll be comfortable incorporating them into your card-making and gift-giving.  Stay tuned for exciting and creative things coming your way!  We want to share what our designers love with you, and this gives you a first-hand look into their crafty-faves!

Let’s get started!

Embossing just steps up an image a notch.  In the Lush Blooms image, the third step is PERFECT for adding in gold embossing.

Stamping the Lush Blooms image is easy to line up!  TIP–Stamp the 2nd (darker) layer FIRST.  This makes it easy to line up the first (lighter image) next!  I use this technique when I’m doing multi-step stamping to make it easier when I have a very light “first” step in stamping.

For the 3rd “detail” layer, this image was stamped in Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Gold Filigree Detail Embossing Powder.  This same embossing powder was used for the sentiment as well.  The Lush Blooms were added to a panel die cut with the Cover Plate: Decorative Circles Die done in all white leaving all the pieces intact.  All the edges of the leaves and blooms were fluffed for some dimension (instead of using foam adhesive).  Gold matte pearls were added to tie in with the gold embossing.
