Hi everybody, welcome to our new feature What do I do with this? For this challenge our designers will get to try out some of these new tools and share the projects they created using them. We’ve got some fun, new things coming to the Papertrey Ink store and our designers will show you how to use them so you’ll be comfortable incorporating them into your card-making and gift-giving. Stay tuned for exciting and creative things coming your way! We want to share what our designers love with you, and this gives you a first-hand look into their crafty-faves!
Let’s get started!
Hi friends! It’s Dana here today with a card that uses the Distress Grit Paste that is available in the PTI online shop. Papertrey Ink is carrying some fun new supplies and I thought it would be fun to incorporate them into a card design and challenge you to do the same.
I started my card by using the new Berry Branches Stencil Collection to make my background. For the first stencil (leaves) I used Green Parakeet ink and a blending brush to add color to my card panel.
Next, I added Classic Kraft to the second stencil to create the branches.
For the third layer (the berries) I used both Hibiscus Burst and Bright Buttercup ink.
Lastly, I used Distress Grit Paste in Snowfall for the fourth and final layer.
This added the perfect amount of sparkle and shine to the final layer.
For my card layout, I used the Border Bling: Postage Frame die and the Border Bling: Skinny Stitched Frame die. I die cut the postage frame from a piece of Green Parakeet patterned paper and the stitched frame from white cardstock and backed it with a piece of vellum.
Next, I attached my frame and stenciled panel to an A2 card base.
For my florals, I used the Into the Blooms die set. I die cut the pieces from white cardstock and then ink blended them with Hibiscus Burst, Bright Buttercup and Green Parakeet ink. I then splattered them with a little white paint for some added detail.
To finish my card I attached my stitched frame and florals to my card panel. I then used the Essential Sentiments set to stamp my sentiment. Lastly, I added a few Moonshine Sequins as a final touch.
Thanks for joining me today and I hope I inspired you to play along with this week’s challenge.
