It’s Day 1 of the Papertrey Ink March Countdown! Welcome, welcome! Let’s start with our newest Into the Blooms collection, shall we?

Introducing the new Into the Blooms: Tulips die collection. Tulips are my favorite flower, ever! I used yellow tulips at my wedding and so they always remind me of that special day. This die collection comes with three different tulips, complete with layering pieces to really bring out the depth, dimension, and life of each.

This die set also comes with lovely, large tulip leaves and stems so you can use them in a variety of ways, such as coming right up from the earth, or trimmed to fit around a sentiment such as I’ve done with mine. I snipped my leaves so they’d fill in behind my tulips and help accentuate my sentiment.

I can’t begin to tell you how beautiful these are! You’ll just have to see them in real life and watch them bloom as you assemble them. I die cut mine from Stamper’s Select White and then sponged ink color on in Lovely Lady, Berry Sorbet, Summer Sunrise, and Melon Berry over my surfaces. I then spritzed each petal with a bit of water and let dry before assembling. My sentiment is from the delightful, new Just Sentiments: Quotes stamp set. This wonderful mini set comes with a variety of quotes, perfect for many different occasions.

This gorgeous card created by our designer JJ Bolton, uses the new Into the Blooms: Tulips dies combined with our amazing, new Elegant Edges: Lace dies. Aren’t these new dies just everything you could wish for when adding extra detail, layering, and pattern?

JJ has used these new dies to create a background for her tulips, showing that there is so much you can do with these dies besides just adding a decorative border at the bottom of your card. I love how she created a space for her sentiment just by the way she cut her cardstock using these dies. Her sentiment is also from the new Just Sentiments: Quotes stamp set. Don’t you love this one?

Next up today…more tulips! Introducing the new Vase Collection 8 Mini stamp set and dies and Totally Tulips stamp set and dies. Aren’t they sweet and happy?

I used the Picket Fence die behind my tulips, knowing beforehand just how much I wanted to hang my watering can on a shabby, weathered, picket fence. After cutting my fence from Kraft Cardstock, I used the Weathered Wood Background stamp and Fresh Snow ink to add a bit of texture.

I love the rustic feel of this new Vase Collection. The watering can really takes on a realistic look with the two-step stamping. This watering can I stamped first in Mint Julep and next in Ripe Avocado. I then filled it full of my Totally Tulips, stamping them in Pure Poppy, Lilac Grace, and Sweet Blush. I nestled this can at the base of my fence, using grass cut from Kraft cardstock and the Weave a Basket die. I added a bit of white ink to my grass so it would take on a more realistic look.

I used a sentiment from the Just Sentiments: Wish You Were Here, stamping it across my pink watering can. I used Sweet Blush and Lovely Lady here, adding in the same color of tulips to tie the two containers together. To finish, I added a bit of baker’s twine and red sequins. This was such a fun card to create…the products make it hard to not love!

-
For a more natural layered die cut flower, only use foam tape on the outer most petals.
-
Add subtle texture to the card background with misted ink.
-
Use small brushes to blend ink around the edges of the die cuts to make them pop.
