The Great Cover-Up

Hi everybody, welcome to our next episode of The Great Cover-Up!

Let’s get started!

Even though stamping is my favorite technique sometimes I like making cards that involve minimal or no stamping. It’s fast and takes more time in the craftermath phase. And if you make all die cutting in advance you can assemble the card later on a go.

I used two floral layering due sets (Into the Blooms: Peonies and Into the Blooms: Dahlia) to make white flowers for the card focal point. It’s very easy to create white flowers using a layering due set. I die-cut all elements out of a white cardstock, added some shading to them by blending Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink around each element edges.

When it comes to the background I decided to went more dramatic to create a contrast with white flowers, I made a bold teal and brown one by ink blending Peacock Feathers and Vintage Photo Distress Inks onto a white panel and then added water splatters to add some texture.

I also die cut a decorative circle element out of a white cardstock using dies from the Delicate Doilies Die Set and adhered it onto the background. The floral elements were adhered on top of it.

Then I added tiny white splatters onto the panel, popped up a sentiment strip and added several Rainstones to accentuate the card.

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: Belated Birthday Mini
PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Perfect Match: True Black
DIES: Into the Blooms: Peonies, Into the Blooms: Dahlia, Delicate Doilies
OTHER: Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink, Peacock Feather Distress Ink, Vintage Photo Distress Ink, White Embossing Powder, Rainstones
