Hello, friends and Happy December! I am so glad you’re here and excited to start
sharing our amazing December products and delightful projects with you. I hope you leave
here with a smile on your face and a bit of happiness in your heart, on this cold, winter day.

Let’s get started with our new Into the Blooms: Pansies dies. Many of you were
excited when I started sharing sneak peeks of this on our social media sites, and with good
reason…they are beautiful!

I adore these giant pansies with their detailed petals and multiple layers. I don’t think I had ever realized what amazing and intricate flowers these were until I started searching Pinterest for inspiration. They are brilliant and you’ll love creating with them.

I created a card set using my Into the Blooms: Pansies. You’ll notice that this set comes with a large and small pansy, stems, and leaves, which make these dies so creative and versatile when it comes to using them in a variety of ways.

I added color to my flowers by first die cutting my flowers from Stamper’s Select White cardstock and then sponging ink over my die cuts. I used Sweet Blush, Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst, and Berry Sorbet ink on my pink pansy. On my yellow pansy, I chose the colors Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, and Melon Berry ink. I added tiny, black polka dots to the centers of my pansies by using the snow image in the Oh, Holy Night stamp set and Olive Twist ink.

My leaves were created using Simply Chartreuse and Green Parakeet ink. I love their size and bright punch of contrasting color they add to these gorgeous pansies. Before assembling my pansies, I spritzed each die cut with water and then let them dry. To create added dimension, I used foam squares to adhere them together.

I love the new Just Sentiments: Thinking of You stamp set and added sentiments from it below each of my pansies. You’ll absolutely love this sweet, new mini set. The sentiments work for good times and bad and say perfectly what is so hard to find the words for.

Now onto our designers and their beautiful projects.

TIPS:
  • Blend ink with a brush or sponge over die cuts for better depth of color and to highlight the debossed details
  • Back a white panel with color cardstock to create a subtle color frame
  • When layering petal die cuts, use a lighter color on the “front” petals and deeper color on the petals behind to give more depth

TIPS:

  • Back delicate die cuts with patterned paper with a small or subtle design
  • For die cut flowers, glue the center of the petals together and use foam tape to create dimension around the outer edges
  • To create natural coloring on flowers, blend multiple inks in the same color family

Are you ready for the next addition in our Feathered Friends series?  These two love birds are from the new Feathered Friends 18 stamp set.   They are so darling and I love that they are a couple!  Use them individually or together.  This set comes with other fun additions such as a branch for them to sit on, berries, leaves, a nest, and eggs.

I wanted the theme of my card to be about love, so I started stamping my birds in colors that remind me of love.  I used Autumn Rose, Berry Sorbet, Lovely Lady, Scarlet Jewel, and Fine Linen.  I love how these birds look stamped in this color combination…anything is possible with this set!

In the background you’ll notice the gorgeous, new Cover Plate:  Elegance die.  Don’t you love the unique shape of this?  It’s just perfect and I love the softness it adds cut from Rustic Cream cardstock.  I wanted my love birds to stand out from the background, so I layered them over a Delicate Doilies die cut.  I nestled their nest in between them and surrounded them with berries and leaves.  This set creates such darling scenes!

From the beginning I knew that I wanted the perfect sentiment that would tie these two birds together.  I chose a sentiment from the new Loads of Love stamp set, which you’ll be hearing more about tomorrow.

STAMPS:  Feathered Friends Mini 18, Loads of Love

INK:  Autumn Rose, Scarlet Jewel, Lovely Lady, Fine Linen, Berry Sorbet, Olive Twist, Saffron Spice, Aqua Mist, Green Parakeet, Simply Chartreuse

PAPER:  Stamper’s Select White, Rustic Cream, Sheer Basics Vellum, Bitty Bit Sweet Blush, Bitty Big Spring Moss, Autumn Rose

DIES:  Feathered Friends Mini 18, Cover Plate:  Elegance, Delicate Doilies, Border Bling:  Skinny Embossed, Tag Creations:  Delightful Bunch

OTHER:  white paint, adhesive gems, Stickles Icicle glitter

I wanted to share with you another fun way the new Cover Plate:  Elegance die can be used.  On this particular card, I only used half of it behind my Feathered Friends 18 stamps and dies.  You can just see a portion of it and it adds just the right amount of femininity to this card.

Once again, I turned to a sentiment from the new Just Sentiments:  Thinking of You stamp set.  I love that this sentiment could work for all sorts of different occasions in life.  Sickness, sympathy, friendship, love, encouragement, etc.  I’ll be wearing this set out!  I stamped my sentiment on a die cut Delicate Doilies….these are my go to dies.

Finishing the inside of my cards is something I am trying to do more often.  I love using the left over, unused die cuts and images on the inside of my card, such as this one.  I carried my theme through from the outside in, by adding the stamped nest and eggs.  Notice I used the same Delicate Doilies die cut once again on the inside.  This is another great way to tie everything together.  My sentiment is from the new Inside Greetings:  Thinking of You stamp set and has three very thoughtful sentiments to choose from.

I can’t wait for you to see what our designers have been creating!
