The Great Cover-Up

I love adding layers to my cards.  In fact, it’s hard for me not to!  Today, I’ve used patterned paper, vellum, dies, stamps, and ribbon to create multiple layers.  Here’s how I created this card.

STEP 1:  Cut On the Border:  Fir Branches from white cardstock.  Add glitter to the tips of each branch.

STEP 2:  Create card base from white cardstock.  Cut Bitty Big Mint Julep paper to fit front of card and adhere.  Cut a vellum layer to fit over the top of Mint Julep paper and adhere.

STEP 3:  Stamp a block of white cardstock, slightly smaller than your card base, using trees from the Oh, Holy Night stamp set.  Stamp in different shades of green, overlapping each tree.  Stamp falling snow in a darker green.  Adhere to center of card.

STEP 4:  Adhere On the Border:  Fir Branches die cut to card front.

STEP 5:  Die cut tree from dark green patterned paper or cardstock.  Stamp with Versamark ink and heat emboss using white embossing powder.  Adhere to card front using dimensional adhesive.

STEP 6:  Wrap seam binding around card and tie in a bow near right edge.

STEP 7:  Die cut tag from white cardstock.  Stamp with sentiment and adhere to card using dimensional adhesive.  Stamp and die cut holly berries and leaves and adhere.

STEP 8:  Finish with die cut snowflakes, adhesive gems, and Stickles glitter.

DIES:  Oh, Holy Night, Corner It:  Holly, On the Border:  Fir Branches, Charming Tags 2, Border Bling:  Snowflakes
OTHER:  Stickles glitter, white embossing powder, patterned paper, adhesive gems, seam binding
