Hi everybody, welcome to our next episode of The Great Cover-Up! Melody will be your guide today!
Let’s get started!
When it comes to home decor I love using books as decor elements. Specifically for Halloween decor I pick up several from my husband’s library (like Malleus Maleficarum, Pet Cemetary, Dracula) and place them among other Halloween decor pieces. The card I’m sharing today is in a way a reflection of a decorated corner in my apartment.
As far as the color scheme goes I went mostly black and white with a pop of orange.
To create the background I blended Black Soot Distress Ink onto a dark gray cardstock panel and then sprinkled it with water to add texture. Next I inked up the panel edges with clear embossing ink, poured some black sparkle embossing powder and heat set it.
To create the books I used the Storybook Halloween and Storybook Christmas Stamp and Dies. The Darling Stand Die Set was used to create the stand. A couple of spiderwebs, spiders themselves, and a pumpkin were also added to the scene.

PAPER: Stamper’s Select White
DIES: Storybook Halloween, Storybook Christmas, Darling Stand
OTHER: Black Sparkle Embossing Powder, White Ink Spray, Black Soot Distress Ink, Dye Inks
