Hi everybody, welcome to our new feature What do I do with this? For this challenge our designers will get to try out some of these new tools and share the projects they created using them. We’ve got some fun, new things coming to the Papertrey Ink store and our designers will show you how to use them so you’ll be comfortable incorporating them into your card-making and gift-giving. Stay tuned for exciting and creative things coming your way! We want to share what our designers love with you, and this gives you a first-hand look into their crafty-faves!
Let’s get started!
Nuvo dual ended blending brushes are a perfect tool to use with stencils! Here I used Raspberry Fizz ink to create a quick and easy background with the large dot stencil.
I white embossed only the outlined image of the roses in the Enchanting Roses set. I spritzed it lightly with water then added shades of pink, red and yellow water colors. Make sure your images are dry prior to die cutting them!
The leaves were stamped using Gentle Moss ink highlighted with some sponging with Simply Chartreuse. The veins were stamped with Olive Twist ink.
To add dimension, I popped up the roses with foam tape and adhered rain drop embellishments scattered over the florals.
INK: Raspberry Fizz, True Black, Gentle Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Olive Twist.
PAPER: Ranger water color paper; White.
DIES: Love to Layer: Floral Fusion; Enchanting Roses; Stitched Rectangle.
OTHER: Mijello Mission Gold water colors; Rain stones
I then used my blending brushes and applied ink to all the different images and elements. Once I was finished adding ink I spritzed everything with water.
Added a little glitter to my cupcake layers.
Lastly, I added Rain Stones to the center of the flowers for the perfect little touch.Rain stones are the perfect little accent to add a special touch to your card. They work perfectly for the center of a flower but also look great just sprinkled here or there on your card panel. They have a flat bottom and are easy to adhere with a little liquid glue. I love to use them in place of sequins or jewels.

DIES: Sweet Celebration, Border Bling: Tin Stitch
