Simple to Spectacular: Rosie Posie

Welcome to the new Simple to Spectacular feature!

Who doesn’t love a simple, classic sugar cookie? But then you icing and it gets even sweeter and more decadent. And then you pop on some sprinkles and suddenly it’s a party! The idea of this feature will be to show how a single stamp set can be used to create a card from clean and simple to downright fabulous with a few extra layers and embellishments.

We have three designers participating today and they each have three progressive card designs to share using the Rosie Posie stamp set. Enjoy!

“This was my first time participating in the new Simple to Spectacular challenge, and what fun!  I started out with the Simple version of my project, then stepped it up by adding some layers to my design.  My third project stepped the background up in a big way by incorporating some freehand watercoloring.  Leaves and stems are pretty simple to do, but flowers can be a bit more challenging, so why not “cheat” by layering some stamped flowers?  Stop over at my blog to see my projects in more detail.”

“The new Simple To Spectacular feature is such a fun challenge! I generally feel like I land on the simple end of the spectrum, so I really enjoyed dreaming up ways to step up my designs from one card to the next. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with keeping things clean, but there’s something truly satisfying about adding in layers of texture and detail to really put a project over the top. “This is such a fun new challenge!  Since this is my first time participating, I wasn’t sure how to go about it but in the end decided to create my more detailed card first.  Because I have a love for layers and embellishments, I decided to go all in!  My advanced card features multiple layers, ink sponging, stenciling, shading and detail stamping on the floral images, a layered banner sentiment, and embellishments.  My intermediate card features both ink sponging and stenciling for the background, some layers, and shading and detail stamping on the floral images.  For my simple card, I did some ink sponging and stenciling for the background but did not include very many layers.  Pop on over to my blog for more details!”
