We are happy to introduce 3 new colors collections in our Bitty Big patterned paper line. These collections are offered in single color packages, with a few new colors being introduced each month. Each package contains 3 patterns: stripes, dots, and gingham. The three patterns are printed double sided, with one side featuring a small version of the pattern and the other side featuring large scale. So you get two options for your designs with less sheets to invest in!

  • Each collection includes 24 sheets (8 sheets of each double-sided pattern).
  • Each sheet features the bitty version of the pattern on one side, and the reverse features the big version.
  • Printed on smooth 8-1/2″ x 11″ text weight paper.
  • The collections will be available in Blueberry Sky, Pale Peony, and Mint Julep on March 15th.

Now that we’ve made all of the formal introductions, let’s get onto the projects!

Laurie Schmidlin is featuring Words to Live By: Learn + Stitching Garden.

Laurie’s background on this card is flawless. She added such dimension by having heavier and lighter stenciled areas. Her floral arrangement is also impeccable. She has used the same elements on either side of the large rose, but changed the layout just enough to keep things from looking too symmetrical. Those small shifts give her design movement and interest.
  • STAMPS: Stitching Garden, Kindness Counts

  • PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Plum Pudding
  • DIES: Stitching Garden, Shape Shifters: Oval 1
  • OTHER: Stencil Basics: Diamonds
Laurie’s mustard and gray color scheme on this card gives it such a warm, vintage vibe. It’s such a wonderful example of using unconventional colors to make a statement. Her use of sponging on the layers is also a great way to add subtle definition. Absolutely stunning!
  • STAMPS: Stitching Garden, Words To Live By: Learn
  • INK: Lemon Tart, Harvest Gold, Honey Nut, Smokey Shadow, Fresh Snow, Soft Granite (Hero Arts), Versamark

By stamping on vellum, Laurie was able to achieve a light and breezy look on this card. That paired with her gentle pastel color scheme, makes for a very friendly card with a wonderful message.

Lizzie Jones is featuring Glorious Globes + Shape Shifters: Oval 1.

By both sponging and stenciling the front of her card, Lizzie was able to get a richly colored background that tied in perfectly to her focal point. She also achieved a metallic finish on her globe stand by applying pigment powder over colored ink. It’s an easier alternative to heat embossing for those times when you’re just not in the mood to use your heat tool.
  • STAMPS: Glorious Globes: Basics, Glorious Globes: March, Sentiment Staples: Thank You
  • INK: Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal, Mint Julep, Stormy Sea, VersaMark
  • PAPER: Aqua Mist, White
  • DIES: Shape Shifters: Oval 1 Die, Glorious Globes: Basics Die
  • OTHER: Scotch Foam Tape, White Crochet Thread, Perfect Pearls Pigment Powder

Lizzie needed only a handful of simple shapes to create her schoolroom scene. She also added a sense of depth to the grounding rectangle by sponging it before stamping the woodgrain pattern, giving the impression of distance.
  • STAMPS: Glorious Globes: Basics, Glorious Globes: March, Great Teachers, Background Basics: Woodgrain
  • INK: Americana, Dark Indigo, Spring Rain, Ocean Tides, Classic Kraft, Cocoa Bean, Smokey Shadow, Fresh Snow, VersaMark

Lizzie used the stitched frame from the Shape Shifters: Oval 1 die to mimic the travel lines on her large globe. She also strategically used the strongest color (the Pure Poppy) sparingly in her design to create emphasis or draw attention. Sometimes less really is more.
