Now that we’ve made all of the formal introductions, let’s get onto the projects!

Melissa-Phillips

Melissa Phillips is featuring Butterfly Blooms + A Bit More: Butterfly Blooms.

Can you believe the gorgeous watercolor on Melissa’s butterfly? She managed to capture the vibrant color of these magnificent creatures without losing their delicate nature. Her choice to mount the butterfly on the flowery Shape Shifters oval was also totally inspired. Brilliant!
Supplies:
  • STAMPS: Butterfly Blooms
  • INK: Amethyst Allure, Berry Sorbet, Green Parakeet, Harvest Gold, Lilac Grace, Pale Peony, Summer Sunrise
  • PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Chicken Scratch Gingham, Bitty Big Lilac Grace, Harvest Gold
  • DIES: Butterfly Blooms, Shape Shifters: Oval 1, Wine Bottle Tag II
  • OTHER: sequins, white embossing powder, Zig Clean Color Markers
It’s not often that you see butterflies in neutral tones, but Melissa’s stunning thank you card is about to change all that. Her mixed metallics give this project a luxe, sophisticated look while the speckles lend a more casual air. It’s a unique contrast that works handsomely.
Supplies:
  • STAMPS: A Bit More: Butterfly Blooms, Stitch in Time Borders, Sentiment Staples: Thank You
  • INK: True Black
  • PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Smokey Shadow
  • DIES: Stitch in Time Borders

Melissa’s layers of texture and soft color palette make this card something truly special. By using different scales in her pattern choices, they complement rather than compete with one another. This is a card any mother would love to receive on her special day!

Amy Sheffer is featuring Big Apple + School Days + Great Teachers.

Amy’s fifth grade mini book is absolutely as sweet as can be! The Big Apple die is the perfect focal point for her mini book’s cover and it looks downright precious stamped with the lined paper background from School Days. Can you imagine creating a whole series of these mini books as a keepsake for your children or grandchildren? What a gift!
Supplies:
  • STAMPS: School Days
  • INK: Pure Poppy, True Black, Harvest Gold, Fine Linen, Soft Stone, Pale Peony, Fresh Snow
  • PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Kraft, New Leaf, and Cocoa Bean card stock; Green Parakeet Bitty Big patterned paper
  • DIES: Big Apple, School Days
  • OTHER: True Black baker’s twine

Amy’s non-traditional color palette on this card is so unexpected and fresh! The black accents add a modern flair and nice contrast against all of the lighter tones. I love how she even personalized her card with the grade highlighted in one of the apples.
Supplies:
  • STAMPS: School Days, Great Teachers
  • INK: Pale Peony, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Autumn Rose, Mint Julep, True Black
  • PAPER: School Days, Moments Inked: Edged
  • DIES: School Days, Moments Inked: Edged
  • OTHER: True Black baker’s twine

I love how Amy chose to stamp her sentiment on the patterned vellum rather than the solid cardstock underneath. It adds such interest to her greeting. Again, that pop of black is such a nice contrast against the pastels happening in her project. Absolutely lovely!
