Modern + Marbled: Day 4

I am thrilled to bring you even more creative goodness using the new Modern + Marbled Kit. Have you seen all the details? If you missed them, you can read all about it as well as Kimberly's story HERE.

1. Ink up marbled pattern with pink ink and spray with water and stamp onto watercolor paper.
2. Repeat step 1 in various directions until background is covered as desired.
3. Die cut largest hexagon shape out of Soft Stone cardstock and middle hexagon shape out of your background from the bottom left edge.
4. Lay down the soft stone large hexagon onto the marbled background and outline with the glue pen.
5. Add gold gilding onto your hexagon outline.
6. Adhere the soft stone large hexagon onto the marbled background and then with the marbled middle hexagon piece over foam tape. Align left.
7. Die cut the words ‘thank you’ out of any scrap and use the glue pen to cover the entire die cut. Then add gold gilding onto the words until full coverage achieved.
8. On a sweet blush cardstock, heat emboss secondary sentiment with gold embossing powder and trim down to a strip.
9. Adhere strip onto your card, and then your gilded thank you onto card .

Michelle says, "Kimberly Crawford’s fabulous Modern & Marbled Kit is a wonder….  beautiful stamps/sentiments/dies that are amazingly versatile! And playing with the Nuvo Gilding Flakes was a first for me – SO much beautiful shine and shimmer! 

Rather than gilding my ‘thank you’ after die cutting, I ran my glue pen across my strip of paper until it was the depth of my die, covered this strip of cs with gilding flakes and then waited for it to dry a bit before die cutting. This seemed to adhere the gilding flake more evenly and all of the tiny nooks and crannies were covered with the beautiful gold!"

1. Create 4.5” square card base from Soft Stone
2. Cut 4” square of SS white cs and stamp randomly with marble stamp in Sweet Blush
3. Cut 4×1.5” strip of Sweet Blush cs, edge with Nuvo Medium Glue Pen, wait a few minutes for glue to become tacky and add Nuvo Gilding Flakes.
4. Attach Sweet Blush strip to  stamped 4” square, then die cut layered piece using  3.75” stitched square die.
5. Add fun foam to back of marbled layer and adhere to card front 
6. Using SS White cs and Nuvo Glue Pen, adhere Gilding Flakes. Die cut ‘thank you’ from gilded piece. Layer ‘thank you’ with one additional layer of SS White cs, then attach to card front.
7. Stamp additional sentiment with Versamark, emboss with gold embossing powder, cut down to small strip, add dimensional tape and add to card front.
8. Stamp fern-like stamp from Courage & Kindess, emboss in gold, die cut , trim, attach to card front with dimensional tape
9. Using Envelope Punch Board, create matching 4.5” square envelope from lighter weight white cs, stamp randomly with marbled stamp, attach Fern Wax Seal to envelope
