Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!

Smile Card

For my first card I couldn't wait to dig out my Copies and add some color to the Cutaway Tags: Summer die. It ha such a gorgeous form to it and it really comes to life as you layer on your favorite color schemes.

I chose to do blues and purples, being sure to add shading and definition with a few different hues of each color. I also went back in and added details with a white gel pen.

The sentiment, also included in the coordinating stamp set, fits perfectly across the center strip.

  • STAMPS: Cutaway Tags: Summer, Textile Impressions
  • INK: True Black
  • PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Spring Rain
  • DIES: Cutaway Tags: Summer die
  • OTHER: Comic Markers, white gel pen

Great Friends Card

Garden Party is a new elegant floral set designed by Dawn McVey. It's hard not to make a pretty card when you start putting all of the various elements together.

I layered shades of Melon Berry, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise and Saffron Spice, a new favorite color combination.

The sentiment from the new Quoted: True Friends set made a great companion for the florals.

  • STAMPS: Garden Party, Quoted: True Friends
  • INK: Melon Berry, Harvest Gold, Saffron Spice, Summer Sunrise, Cocoa Bean
  • PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Harvest Gold

Hello Card

Heather always inspires me with her Kraft stamping so I thought it was fitting to pair the technique up with her new Ways to Say collection.

The floral elements were layered at each of the corners. The detail and uniqueness of the leaves and flowers makes it a joy to stamp with.

  • PAPER: Classic Kraft, Stamper's Select White

Spread Joy Box

Lizzie's new Petal Box comes together easily with just two cuts.

I am in love with the coordinating tags she included with the die collection, they are the perfect scale to tie onto the box making projects come together quickly. I stamped this tag with elements from Cutaway Tags: Summer and added the sentiment from Humming Along.

Make You Smile by Laurie Schmidlin

Laurie always has a way with color and this beauty demonstrates that perfectly. The small dots of black added around the florals really help to connect the black die-cut tag to the rest of the project.

Wanda Guess is joining me today, featuring Garden Party and Ways to Say: Hello

You can get stunning results with your floral stamps by keeping things simple and monochromatic. The Kraft and Hawaiian Shores combo used here is an excellent example of this.

  • STAMPS: Garden Party, Ways to Say: Hello

  • PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Classic Kraft, Hawaiian Shores
  • DIES: Garden Party dies, To the Point Edgers dies, Ways to Say: Hello die

This bright color scheme is a sunny combination for Garden Party. Wanda added interest to the background with a neutral gingham paper that doesn't take away from the bouquet focal point.

  • PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, True Black, Classic Kraft, Pure Poppy, Chicken Scratch gingham
  • INK: Pure Poppy, Enchanted Evening, Bright Buttercup, Green Parakeet, True Black, VersaMark

By building large floral clusters in two opposing corners, you leave the perfect space for a large sentiment like the one from Ways to Say: Hello.

  • STAMPS: Garden Party, Ways to Say: Hello
  • PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Bright Buttercup
  • INK: Raspberry Fizz, Green Parakeet, True Black, Hawaiian Shores, Bright Buttercup, Sweet Blush
