Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!

Rainbow Birthday Card

My first project project today is super simple. It all started with a few 1/2" strips of cardstock cut in a rainbow of colors.

Focal

After adhering them to a piece of cardstock, I die-cut the top layer using the new Ways to Say: Birthday die, exposing the white layer underneath.

Twine

That panel was split in half and trimmed to allow space for the twine to be tied around the card front.

Yellow HB Card

This is one of my favorite sets of initials from this set. The solid hexagon can neatly nicely directly inside the sentiment frame, or you can use it to account around it like I did here.

Focal

I also stamped a few star that are included in the set, scattering them around to break up the geometry a bit.

Side

The regular "happy birthday" sentiment is added underneath in a darker color, which helps to ground the whole focal point.

Watercolor Birthday Card

Next up is this flourished sentiment from Initial Sentiments: Birthday. There is space created at the bottom of the sentiment to add any of the regular "happy birthday" strip sentiments included.

Sequins

I heat embossed the sentiment and watercolored these pretty stripes over it, along with the addition of a few clear sequins.

HB2U Card

One of the things customers always ask advice about is creating masculine cards, here is a quick and easy one that would work for adults and teens.

Down

These circle stamps are each a separate image so you can play around with color combos. I chose some earthy colors to help the project have a masculine feel.

Focal

Underneath those, I heat embossed the "happy birthday" sentiment with White Filigree Embossing Powder.

Eat Fish Card

I'm seriously dying over the cuteness of these sweet little cat from Kay. It is so easy to put together and you can have fun experimenting with different color schemes based on your favorite breeds.

Eyes

For the eyes, I colored to white adhesive pearls with a sharpie. I think it gave them a more realistic look this way.

Sentiment

I had a little fun with the sentiment. Using "Eat Cake" from Ways to Say: Birthday. I crossed "cake" out and replaced it with "fish".

Monogram Card

I have one last project for you today, this one using Kay's new Flower Mandalas 2 dies. In playing around and experimenting with these dies, I thought it would be interesting to cut the completed mandala in half.

Focal

After doing so, it looked like the perfect place to nest a monogram.

Detail

Created with the Botanical Letters set, the tiny purple accents on it help bring out the card base.
