Today we are diving into the year 2012!
The editors of the venerable Encyclopedia Britannica — the massive, leather-bound tomes seen in libraries and schools since 1768 — announced that they were discontinuing the printed edition. The blog post goes on to promise that "the encyclopedia would live on" in "bigger, more numerous, and more vibrant digital forms," but the end of the 244-year old institution was yet another harbinger of the death of print.
No song has defined 2012 more than Psy's inescapable "Gangnam Style," which set the records for the most watched YouTube video. "Gangnam Style" has become a worldwide phenomenon, earning more than 1 billion views (and counting), spawning thousands of tribute videos, and giving the South Korean singer the opportunity to do his crazy horse-riding dance with many different celebrities around the world.
The 2012 Summer Olympics, which took place from July 27 to Aug. 12, were a widely celebrated, headline-dominating affair. More than 10,000 athletes from 204 countries hopped a flight to London, England to participate in more than 300 events. In the end, the United States won more gold medals and more medals overall than any other nation, with China and Great Britain taking second and third.
Hello Sunshine – This set is so much more than meets the eye! The triangular elements were designed to work perfectly together to make a perfect "sunburst" background. There is a starburst circle that can be used as a guide for positioning, which makes this set so easy to use. With the coordinating dies, you can die-cut and layer the solid circular center portion of the sun, or not, depending on the look you are going for. The coordinating dies allow you to cut wedges from colored cardstocks or patterned papers which you can choose to stamp with one of these coordinating design elements. Perfectly phrased sentiments round out the set, allowing your projects to be cohesive with the sunshine theme.

Betsy says, "Who doesn't love to stamp a little sunshine? The versatile sun rays and fun sentiments have made this set a

Sentiment Signs is a sentiment collection inspired by vintage subway signs. Many commonly used sentiments are included in each block with coordinating sentiments and words. The images in this set are perfect as focal points for your card projects, and work great for the inside of your card as well. This set is so versatile and easy to use; you will find yourself reaching for it again and again.

With All My Heart – A fun collection of all things love, designed to coordinate with the new Limitless Layers: 2 1/4" Heart Die Collection. There are lots and lots of layering options with these creative and fun images. You can easily add flowers and leaves to the polka dotted heart, and incorporate the blank banner into the design for adding sentiments. What's not to love about a chevron striped heart that also has a small banner opening for additions? And the large "Love You" heart has loads of color combo options with the letters that can be added individually.

Lizzie says, "One of my favorite things about Papertrey Ink stamps has always been how adaptable they are. For example, at first glance With All My Heart may seem like it's only suited to a specific holiday, but a few simple substitutions make it absolutely perfect for year-round creating. It's that versatility that makes me fall in love with these stamp sets over and over again."

Celebrations – You will love celebrating with your loved ones in style when you create cards and more using the Celebrations stamp set! Celebrations covers a wide variety of occasions worth celebrating, and the mix and match options provided in this set, will give you endless options for creating custom sentiments. Michelle says, "The Celebrations set has a wonderful blend of sentiments, both large and small, that can be combined in so many ways. And then there’s that fabulous frame to fancy things up a bit. I remember seeing this set in combination with Rosie Posie and the Mat Stack 5 Collection stamps and being completely smitten! Yup…. I had to have it all!"

Embroidered Blooms – Hundreds of tiny, intricate "stitches" make up each component of the embroidered flowers and leaves in this elegant set. There are even "French knots" for the flower centers. As you build blooms and leaves with the layers created for each image in a variety of colors, the images will literally come to life and jump from the page. And the best part is they coordinate with the previously released dies, Beautiful Blooms II Die Collections #2 and #3 as well as Turning a New Leaf.

Melissa says, "Embroidered Blooms takes me back to summer days with my Grandma, to dishtowels, clotheslines, gingham aprons, and freshly baked bread :). It's funny how certain sets can evoke such specific images. I find these sets so inspiring, and Embroidered Blooms is one of them. I love trying to recreate what I can see in my mind's eye and make it all play out on paper."

My favorite, most-used set from 2012 is THANKS ALL WAYS. Love this basic, versatile set.
Embroidered Blooms is stil a favorite!
This is fun. I didn’t start card making until a few years ago, so seeing how stamps have progressed is fun. Love the embroidered blooms
Beautiful Butterflies is my favorite set from 2012. It was the only butterfly set I have ever felt compelled to buy. Butterflies are generally not my thing, but this one was different.
I am loving these flash back posts! I always admired Embroidered Blooms. Now I want it even more! And I didn’t realize it coordinated with previous die releases.
Thank you for highlighting my card today! I will definitely be fusing off this wonderful set (Embroidered Blooms) to ink up! By far my favorite for this year.
I’m going with celebrations (before I change my mind!) because I really like the size of the sentiments, you can use it to make a background and the sentiments cover lots of occasions. I find I use it often.
I have all these sets you highlighted today. Love all the inspiration today.
The Sweet Life, hands down! But I have to say the little handmade by set doesn’t leave my desk and I use it all the time.
I have a lot of sets but none of the five featured
Love looking at the past though.
I have “Sentiment Signs” and still like it very much because you can creat quick and easy Cards for many Occasion. The “Hello Sunshine” set is always on my wish list, so far it has not got into the shopping cart **lol**
Thanks for the wonderful Inspiration today !!
2012 was another year I bought so so many of the stamps and dies released. Favorites include: The Sweet Life, Celebrations, and Hello Sunshine.
I loved seeing all the ways the team used the Sunshine set. You always offer products that are as unique as they are versatile.
Team Embroidered Blooms all the way! So Spring Like!
Of all the sets showcased today, I would say “Hello Sunshine” is my favorite – it’s also one that I own. It covers a lot of occasions. It’s a cheerful set, guaranteed to bring a smile to the recipient!
My favorite from 2012 was beautiful butterflies followed closely by on the farm.

It’s so fun to see older stamp sets featured that are all new to me. Love the look of the Embroidered Blooms. It has such a classy and timeless design that it will still look fresh in years to come.
I love the delicate images in Embroidered Blooms, but the set from 2012 that I use often is the Background Basics: Super Stripes stamp set. Great, basic stripes and the images are crisp.
My sets from 2012 are the ones I’ve used most often. (What a designing year!) To name just some of the sets that I turn to ALL the time:

I really like the Hello Sunshine set! I may need to get that set =)
Strawberry Patch and The Sweet Life are two of my favorite stamp sets from 2012 (sorry, I couldn’t pick just one). Strawberries, well, those are my favorite, and I love stamping each layer of those roses in a different color.
I like Embroidered Blooms — not only for the new looks for the flowers, but for the great font on the large words.
Love all of these, but my favorite from this year are the houses in the Hill group…I use them on a regular basis and always enjoy the results… Thank you for that!
Love todays post! On The Farm would probably be my favorite from 2012 because I love using the animals in the set and it goes so well with Hello Sunshine!

I do own all 5 sets..I love them all..but mostly LOVE Simply Jane from 2012!
Celebrations, hearts and embroidered flowers bring back all sorts of memories, and potential for use!Wish I had them all. Maybe…
So many wonderful sets from 2012!! I became a customer in 2013 (yes, I am a newbie) after stumbling unto the PTI website and seeing Melissa’s Make It Monday video where she made her Library Pocket Mini Book using the Simply You stamp set and all manner of intriguing dies. I was hooked.
So, Simply You, Scrambled Eggs and Strawberry Patch are favorite sets of mine from 2012.
2012 was a very good year, with lots of PTI favourites to choose from. My favourite is Peaceful Pinecones because it really lives up to its name. Total peacefulness. Two other faves are Winter Hills and the Sweet Life.
Peaceful Pinecones. Not a holiday goes by where I don’t use that set.
It is GORGEOUS!!!
I did not recognize any of these sets from 2012. That must have been the year I missed, but I’ve been trying to catch up ever since. Love the versatility of these sets and your projects you posted.
My favorite this year was Santa’s Stationary which I finally bought one or two years ago. I love it!
I love Embroidered Blooms from 2012. There are many wonderful sets from that year that I have and love.
The Sweet Life is my fave from this year. The flowers are absolutely beautiful with the stamp layering. A close second is the Beautiful Butterflies set. You can never have too many butterflies in your stash and I love the mixed fonts for the sentiments.
The Winter Snow Globe stamps & dies are my favorite. They are perfectly sized for Christmas tags and have great possibilities for cards as well.
With all my heart is a favorite for Valentine’s and anniversaries and weddings
So many beautiful projects today!! I can’t wait to get started and create something new with one of these sets!!
Hello Sunshine is so pretty and cheerful. I could use some of that right now in the middle of the winter! 🙂 I also love Embroidered Blooms. Fantastic samples!
I’ve always loved sentiment signs, it really has it all. It’s a great go to sentiment stamp set with lots of different fonts. Always appropriate.
Just realized I was looking at the wrong release year in my previous comment! I do have tons of favorites from this year though – Heart-2-Heart Mini is just so adorable with that little coffee cup. (love all my heart-2-heart minis). Love Trendy Tree Tops. Hello Sunshine is one I need to get out and USE because it’s awesome! and We go together…I could name so many more that I have and want.
I’m not sure how I found PTI, possibly Pinterest, but it was in the fall of 2012. That is when my 30 years of stamping with woodblock stamps, changed for ever. Now with going through all the years, month by month, I can see all that I’ve missed, amazing and wonderful! I don’t own any of the sets that were shown today, (but I will) I love my Autumn and Winter Hills, On the Farm, Lovely Layers, and Beautiful Butterflies.
I would have to say one of my favorite sets is the Embroidered Blooms. It was one of the first sets that I purchased from Papertrey Ink. I always loved the stitched details in the flowers and leaves.
The sentiment signs are awesome as they can change any generic card to the specific occasion! Thank you for the awesome inspiration!
I have so many stamp sets from the 2012 release that I use all the time! I seriously can’t choose a favorite. I’m in love with too many.
Strawberry Patch was my favorite!
I have quite a few 2012 sets, but none of these. Think I may need to get Hello Sunshine–had forgotten about it. Love Snowflake Flurries & Quilled Elegance, but would say my favorite is The Sweet Life. Love seeing all the projects today!
Sentiment Signs is so much fun to use and make cards with!
Beautiful Butterflies is still one of my favs!
Love the way Christina used Embroidered Blooms peeking out of windows. I need to order that set…
The Beautiful Butterflies stamps/dies have been a favorite of mine from the sneak peeks that year continuing right on up to today. The variety of sizes and shapes of all the Butterflies make both elegant and whimsical cards, plus the lovely sentiments are constantly used with other stamp sets.
Oh my! With all these older floral sets…who needs new ones?! Nicole, your floral cards for today (as always) are beyond beautiful. Thanks for all the inspiration!
I love “On the Farm” and the “Hills” Sets. The farm set is timeless and so much fun to stamp! I just love the creativity and unique-ness of PTI stamps!
Love the examples for Hello Sunshine – inspires me to pull that set out again & make some bright cheerful cards!
One of my favorite sets from 2012 in the On the Links Stamp Set. My husband loves to golf so this set has gotten lots of use making cards for him.
I also love The Sweet Life Stamp Set! Those 3 step roses are so gorgeous when stamped & have such dimension for a single layer.
And, I can’t forget Quilled Elegance. As a Quiller, this set was a must have for me.
There were so many great sets released in 2012 it’s hard to choose a favorite. For me, it’s a toss up between Beautiful Butterflies and The Sweet Life. I love them both equally!
I love Sentiment Signs and still use it often.
Hello Sunshine is a great set of stamps!
My absolute favorite set from 2012 is Script Sentiments. This set embodies everything I love in a sentiment set
My all time favorite is Beautiful Butterflies for this year. I still use it a lot. I love the Tremendous Treats Birthday too.that saw a lot of ink as my grandchildren were growing up. Sweet Life is the first three step stamp that I think I owned..it was so unique and one of the first I saw on the market with that stye of stamping.
Loved the “With All My Heart” Stamp set, it looks so adorable!
I love Hello Sunshine! I have made some fun encouragement cards with this set! 🙂
I have always loved the With All My Heart set. I just used it again the other day. I have the coordinating dies, too. Another fun set is Shutterbug. I had forgotten about Hello Sunshine and am thinking I need that set! I think Sweet Life is a pretty set I need, too! Fun to get re-acquainted with past releases. Thank you!
The Sweet Life is one of the most timeless sets released that year. I think Lace Bouquet might be one of my all-time favorite sets. Strawberry Patch is still so adorable. 2012 was a fantastic year!
Lots to choose from but I think Embroidered Blooms would have to be my pick as my favourite set. Must pull it out and see what I can make!
I bought so many stamps in 2012 that it’s embarrassing… I don’t think I have a favourite, but I will dust off my Hello Sunshine set to make a card to counteract all the gray skies right now.
One of my all time favorites is Embroidered Blooms.
Have to say I am enjoying this ‘trip down memory lane’! It’s fun to look back at the releases by month and choose some favorites! Glad that so many are still available! For 2012, I love the Flipping Out stamp set! Such a fun icon of summer, I love creating flip flops in bright colors to use on my cards!
My fav. set from 2012 is the Sweet Life stamp set.
I am all about sentiments so I love the sentiment stamps.

Simply Jane was so sweet and I really loved all of the Heart 2 Heart sets from 2012! 🙂
March 2012-On the Links Stamp set…because you never have enough guy stamps…and PTI always knocks the ball out of the course!
I wasn’t in the papercrafting hobby back in 2007. But looking back, I like the Spiral Bouquet with it’s great words and font, and all the pretty flowers.
My favorite is Beautiful Butterflies.
I didn’t know about Papertrey Ink in 2012, but I have since bought Sweet Life and Lovely Layers within the last year. Both sets make such lovely sympathy cards.
Simply said…Simply Jane. Who can go wrong with Jane Austen!
Love that we get entertainment along with inspiration! You’re so much fun! Thank you for giving a smile to start the day. Embroidered Blooms has been a favorite since it’s release. Seeing Melissa’s new project sent me right to that set to create my new card!
Love the Embroidered Blooms set! What lovely cards that set makes!!! But With all my Heart is STILL on my wish list! Why haven’t I bought it yet?
2012 was another great year for PTI. On the Farm is one of my favorite stamp sets ever. Plus Simply Jane and Signature Greetings II.
Having a look through the options I’d have to pick Simply Jane as my favorite 2012 release – I love Jane Austen & having some of her quotes (and co-ordinating images) to use on cards has been so great – this set gets lots of use when making special cards for my sisters-in-law, who are fellow Jane fans!
Embroidered Flowers is still so lovely, but my favorite from 2012 was the hill series, especially Winter Hills.
The Sweet Life stamp set is definitely the winner for 2012. It was love at first sight.
Love the embroidered blooms set.
When I look back at all the releases from 2012 there were a few that I remember as special…Flipping Out, both the Autumn Hills and Winter Hills and Over Under Easy. But there is one set that I have used a lot from 2012 and that is the Heart-2-Heart #10 mini stamp set. The sentiments and font are perfect for sympathy cards and the butterflies are always a nice accent. I do own a couple of the sets highlighted today and it was fun to see again…both past and present…their usage.
Beautiful inspiration I keep putting more goodies in my wish list that I wish I would have gotten years ago!!!! Thanks for all the wonderful inspiration and great ideas
I love the sweet, old-fashioned charm of ‘Embroidered Blooms’ and the positive, uplifting sentiments in the ‘Hello Sunshine’ set! Thank you so much for this delightful look back… and all of the wonderful inspiration! ♡

My favorite stamp set in 2012 is the Think Big Favorites #19 Mini Stamp Set. It is so sweet and simple. I put it on my wish list back then, but ended up removing it when the list got too long. I’m putting it back on my list now!!
I think Scrambled Eggs is cute – and fun for Easter.
Beautiful Butterflies, and I can’t forget Embroidered Blooms. Those two are among my favorites from 2012, but I have a lot of sets from that year’s releases, so it was a PTI year!

I love the Sentiment Signs from this year’s release but I don’t have it (that will have to change) so instead, I used Embroidered Blooms, which is lovely on the bookmark series I am doing.

Thanks for the reminder of sets I have not used for a while.
Lots of my favourites.
Lovely Layers and The Sweet Life are two of my all-time favorite stamp sets. They were introduced in 2012 and I still love them and use them frequently.
The Sweet Life is one of my favorites from 2012. It seems like that was an early version layering stamp.
We’ve made it to the year when I started ordering every month. Oh boy!
Hard to choose a favorite set.
My favorite is Hello Sunshine. It make such cheery backgrounds.
Hello Sunshine and Embroidered Blooms are my favs!
“Hello Sunshine” was the very first Papertreyink stamp that I bought! I don’t remember what first took me to your company but I am so happy I did. I look forward to each month to see what new stamps & dies you bring out. You also give me so many ideas on how to use them for which I am very grateful. Keep up the good work!
No 2012 stamps in my stash but I am really loving the Hello Sunshine stamp set. I only joined PTI in 2013 so tomorrow will be exciting! PTI rocks my world thanks to all of you wonderful ladies. Big congrats!
Even after all these years…Embroidered Blooms is still a favourite of mine. Reminds me of the embroidery my grandfather taught me to do when I was a child. Cheers.
Hello Sunshine still stands out to me as it was so unique at the time and I still love its versatility today.

Love the Tremendous Treats sets!
I like the cards made with With All My Heart, these ladies are so talented!
Hi PTI, I have Winter Snowglobe and Sew Simple Borders. I love them both. 🙂 Iris,SavedbyGrace
I just recently got With All My Heart, and love it. 2012 was a fun year! Autumn and Winter Hills, Heart 2 Heart, On the Farm, Strawberry Patch, Simply Jane. Classics and favorites!
So many beautiful stamp sets in 2012! So hard to choose! I’ll go with Embroidered Blooms. I especially love the leaves in the set…so graceful with beautiful movement.
I’m in love with Simply Jane. I love the vintage elegance! I finally got the papers in your sale and the stamp set and dies will be in my next order.
Of the stamps sets shown today for 2012, I have With All my Heart and Embroidered Blooms. I think Embroidered Blooms is my favorite of those 2 sets. The stamps really do look like the hand embroidery which my Mom used to do!
Embroidered Blooms has been on my wish list for quite awhile. I think I should just add it to my cart.
I can’t believe it but I don’t have any of these highlighted sets from 2012 – I do have the Snow Globe set and just used one of the sentiments on a card I made for a Christmas challenge!
I all of them today! They are all great sets!
Some of my favorites from 2012 are Lace Bouquet (I’ve used it so many times, for weddings, birthdays, thank yous–I cover the front and back of an aqua mist base with white in–so pretty!), Sweet Life (an early 3-step–love!_, and Peaceful Pinecones (great for woodsy friends anytime).
I love Hello Sunshine!
Hands down On The Farm is my favorite, love this set!
Such amazing projects. I have so many of these sets. Can’t wait to play along with this challenge.
Quilled Elegance and Snowflake Flurries are favorites from 2012. Quilled Elegance is so easy to color and Snowflake Flurries is great for subtle backgrounds.
Oh this was a hard year, what with Peaceful Pinecones, Quilled Elegance, and The Sweet Life! But I had to go with Strawberry Patch as my favorite for the year. Gorgeous images and the mix of solid & outline make this a favorite for me.
I love todays look back, i am pretty sure i have most if not all of those cards pinned.
My very favorite 2012 set is the Happy Hexagons and cover plate. I love the quilted look and also use the hexagons for cards made with bees for a honeycomb look.
My second favorite set which is on my wish list is the Beautiful Butterflies. Love the heart to heart sets as well. Thanks!
my most favorite set from 2012 is definitely simply jane! another set that I absolutely love!!
There are SO many 2012 stamp sets that I like. The Heart-2-Heart mini stamp sets are such fun sets. However, my most favorite 2012 stamp set has to be, the On The Farm set.
