Today we are diving into the year 2011!
An estimated two billion people tuned in to watch the televised wedding of Britain's Prince William to Kate Middleton. But the relentless media coverage of the "greatest and grandest" royal affair since Charles and Diana's wedding didn't begin and end on April 22, the day of the ceremony. In breathless around-the-clock coverage, frenzied fans and critics have scrutinized every aspect of the young royals, including the royal portrait, Kate's dress, and a Lifetime film about the couple.
After 25 years, countless nuggets of wit and wisdom, tens of millions of dollars worth of "Oprah's Favorite Things" giveaways, and a star-studded farewell concert, The Oprah Winfrey Show ended on May 25. The "brave" final show starred no one but the Queen of Talk herself, as she thanked her viewers for their support and extolled a few final life lessons. Winfrey signed off by saying, "I won't say goodbye. I'll just say until we meet again." Year of Flowers Collection – You loved them large and now you can enjoy them in a much smaller scale as well. Our Year of Flowers series has now been reduced by about half the size and combined into a single set. This smaller scale opens a whole new realm of design possibilities and allows you to create coordinating items with ease. This new version is also a great way to try the flowers out, pick a favorite or two, and purchase the full-size versions of those particular sets. I absolutely love the winter penguin set. I have used it to make calendars, Christmas cards, and even a set of number magnets for my preschool class.
I also use the seed packet die all the time for gift cards. It’s the perfect size!
I have a lot of stamp sets from 2011 but none of the illustrated ones although the year of the flowers collection is on my wish list. I use Inside and Out Birthday all of the time and then Nativity Silhouettes for my Christmas cards a lot.
I love my winter penguin set and use it all the time. No dust on him! He has taken center stage on birthday cards wearing a little party hat, graduation cards with a little diploma tucked under this wing, and of course Christmas cards. He still makes me smile.
I have both the Year of Flowers and Garden Variety. Today’s post is inspiration to dust them off and get them back into stamping rotation!
Tremendous Treats is the only one of these sets that live in my home, though two of the others just found their way into my cart. Tremendous Treats: Valentine needs no dusting off! It was on my counter yesterday. I guess it will be coming right back out today.
Year of Flowers Collection was my favorite set of 2011; it has so many wonderful images that have so many applications–cards, seed packets, jewelry (using shrink plastic) to name a few.
I have a 4 year old grandson so I love all the Boy Basics sets especially Out of This World.
So many great sets released that year! My favorites are Ad Sense, Hanging Out (my favorite baby set) and In the Meadow
Garden Variety would have to have my vote today for my favorite set of the year. I love to spend time in my flower beds and this set reminds me of the joy I receive from working in the yard.
I had to have “Year of Flowers” at the time, but I rarely use it. I do not know why. Thank you for the inspiration. I especially like Andrea’s card. I will try that.

I was thrilled when you released the Boy Basics groups and Grunge Me! These stamps filled a huge hole in my collection, and are still my favorite to use for cards and tags for my boys!
There was lots to love in 2011, but Rosie Posie takes it all! Other favourites are Bells & Boughs and Mehndi Medallion. And you’re making me all nostalgic for inked edges; they made everything look better! 🙂

The whole April release of Boy Basics sets and masculine sets were my favorites as well as Tag its sets, friendship jar fillers, daydreamer, and the Christmas sets release. I bought a lot of stamps in 2011. Too many.
I feel like I’m a broken record saying friendship Jar fillers so I’ll switch it up and go with an awesome stand alone set, Harvest Berries! There are so many great sets in 2011. It’s hard to pick!
Garden Variety is an all time favorite!! Also have the penquins! Now I need to stroll through the memories of year 2011… to see what I have loved and what I still need, HA!
2011 is the year I finally got to order from PTI! I cannot tell you how excited I was to get that box in my hands – after following the DT for what seemed like *forever*! 🙂 BB: Newsprint is my absolute favorite background. It is a great classic.
My favorite stamp set of 2011 is Mehndi Medallion Mini. I love the techniques like emboss resist that can be done with this set!

My favourite set released in 2011 is Garden Variety, which, ironically enough, I only purchased last year!
I do have lot from 2011..and also Garden Variety and Year of Flowers Collection and also background Basics Newsprint!
They are all SO well used the dies too..!!
I love this going back in time..such a GREAT idea..makes me want to take them out and start playing with them for sure..i am so happy with all my PTI stamps … LOVE them ..they are SUPER!!!

Mega Mehndi Medallions is my favorite set from 2011 and is one of my favorites any time! I love doing Emboss Resist and Emboss techniques using this set!
2011 I was adding to my collection at a steady pace I think I’ve collected every love set possible.
My favorites from 2011 are the It’s a Jungle Out There set (I have such a soft spot for animal stamps), Harvest Berries (this one was so unlike any other leafy line art that I had seen at that point), and Rosie Posie (with the mix of bold floral and geometric shapes this one is an amazing staple)
After seeing today’s features, I think I may pull out the Year of Flowers Collection. I own it, but am not sure that I’ve ever used it!!
I bought Garden Variety and it is still one of my favorites!
For 2011, it’s a toss up between Modern Basics and Harvest Berries. Opposite ends of the spectrum, but the images in each will always be useful.
I’ve always loved the cards made with Year of Flowers and the Year of Flowers collection – and those are my favorites today. Of the 2011 sets that I have (none of the 5 featured though) my favorite is Peaceful Garden.
I really like the year of the flowers collection since you can customize the card to the recipient’s favourite flower.
Ack, these picking favorites posts are so challenging! I narrowed 2011 down to Autumn Acorns and Bells & Boughs. I use both of these sets frequently. I love how many different shapes of Acorns there are (and the patterned tops are fun). The Bells can be used for so many different occasions; and the greenery is perfect for adding touches to any card.
Garden Variety. I didn’t purchase it right away, maybe not even for a year or two, but once I gave in and had it come live at my house, I never regretted it. Love the versatility of this set, love making shakers with the seed packet. I have lots of other sets from this year, but Garden Variety is my favorite.
While I have Year of Flowers and enjoy using it, my favorite of 2011 is Mendhi Medallion, One of the best sets ever!
Garden Variety is such a beautiful set, and is still a favorite of mine to this day!

My favorite set from 2011 has to be Friendship Jar Summer Fillers. Friendship Jar Summer Fillers was the first set I bought from the jar series & I was hooked on them after that. Placing objects in that cute jar is just so much fun.

There really was a lot of fabulous releases in 2011. I loved the ginkgo leaves in the Harvest Berries set, the wonderful wording and style of Simple Sentiments and all the detail in the Mehndi Medallion set.
I have the Tremendous Treat Valentine set of those shown today – love the tiny images with so many ways to use them! of 2011 I also love Boys Basics Truck it, Happy Trails, It’s a Jungle out there (love the 2 stamp stamping with this fun set and the dies!) Harvest Berries (beautiful images) and one of my all time Christmas favorites – In the Meadow along with the dies!
Tremendous Treats Valentine is one of my all time favorites. So many ways to use it and it’s so fun to play with!

I’m surprised how many of the 2011 stamps I have in my stash! My favorite is the Bells & Boughs stamps and dies! I’ve made beautiful cards with them; am also planning on making some Christmas tags.
Love the gardening set…someway I missed that one when it was released… Again, I hate to keep saying this, but this release is just plain fun…I look forward to it everyday..
I find it funny that there are so many sets of PTI I still have never even seen. The penguin set is one of them. It is just absolutely adorable! Garden Variety was one of the first PTI sets I had to own.

I think Rosie Posie and Think Big series were two of my favorite from that year.

I discovered PTI in 2011 & have quite a few sets from that year including Year in Flowers Collection. Very hard to pick a favorite–love Tiny Tags, Rosie Posie, Harvest Berries & the other sweet little floral sets I have. Fun looking back & now I want to use all my stamps!
2011 was a great year of releases. Think Big Favorites, In The Meadow, Nativity Silhouettes and many more fantastic sets. How can I pick just one favorite?
Just had to quickly chime in that the wedding date for William and Kate was actually April 29th (not the 22nd) – I remember it well because I married on April 30 of the same year.
I adore that winter penguin as a favorite, but really loved some of the “boy basics” sets released that year as well!

I must say that I am SO enjoying this “look into the past” of PTI stamps, and I am spending WAY too much time on the computer looking at all of the samples. Most of these stamp sets are “new” to me because of having my head in the sand, BUT my favorite would have to be Garden Variety, and the sweet touch of Melissa!

This was a great year for the stamp sets as I think I have them all… I’ve used the year of the flowers collection several times for so many occasions and any of the tiny and tremendous treats are fitting as well. Sooo cute.
Oh my goodness…AGAIN! 2011 was a VERY good year! I have a lot of the sets. But when I saw Rosie Posie…hands down my favorite of the year. Love that set! I’m busting it out for the challenge!
I think this was the year I started stamping and one of the Papertrey Ink stamp sets that caught my eye was Garden Variety. The design did such lovely things with this set and I was impressed I started ordering from Papertrey Ink.
Garden Variety is at the top of my favorites list- always surprise myself with how nice my creations looks using this set!
My favorite of 2011 is the Harvest Berries set. I like the unique leaves which always adds additional interest on a card. In going back and looking at looking at all the releases a couple more sets have been added to my list…both of which were featured today. Thanks for giving us time to look back…I really appreciate having no release this month and focusing on what has come before and what we can do with what we already have.
My absolute favorite, hands down, from 2011 is Mehndi Medallion. It never leaves my craft table, its so great for classy, elegant cards for birthdays, sympathy, thinking of you…
So hard to pick a favorite but my most used is probably Tremendous Treats – Valentine. Love that set and I have used it for different occasions, too.

I do have the Background Newsprint set which I’ve used many ties for baby and birthday cards, but now I see other ways to use it too.
I also have the Valentine stamp set, which I had forgotten about, h’mm could have used it yesterday, darn!
I also have the Garden set which hasn’t seen too much use, but will after seeing all of these adorable cards the team has created.

Year of Flowers was a set I ordered almost the second it came out. It was one I just had to have.
My favorite set of stamps/dies form 2011 is Rosie Posie! The flower images and bouquet arrangement designs create such classic and elegant cards for any occasion you can imagine. I constantly reach for that set, it’s timeless 🙂
I have always coveted the Year of Flowers series. I didn’t realise there was a whole set of mini versions. Another thing to add to my “wish list”! Thanks for the trip down memory late to review all these past beauties.
I think 2011 is the year I really started my obsession with PTI as I have many stamps from that year. Couple of favorites: Rosie Posie, Daydreamer, Harvest Berries. I guess it’s more than a couple.
The tiny treat valentine set is fantastic and one I have really used a bunch
I have a few of these sets but I really love Background Basics-Newsprint. It’s great as either a subtle background or a focal point and especially useful for men’s cards.
I have so many stamp sets from 2011 it’s hard to choose. I think my favorites are Boy Basics and Congrats All Ways. I still use these stamps today!

My favorite stamp set from 2011 is the Inside and Out Birthday set. I use this set often and I love it! It’s great to be able to stamp a message inside the card. Thanks for all the great inspiration for all of the older stamp sets.
The Tag-its series is my favorite from 2011. I reach for those little images all the time to add a special extra touch to a card.
I loved the Tremendous Treats Valentines and the Winter Penguin stamps, and have used them to death! Terrific stamps!
March 2011: Tiny Tags Stamp set is my favorite. Another great example of why PTI is…tag your it…the best in the business.
My favorite set released in 2011 was the Modern Basics set – I loved Maile’s style right from the start & this set is so versatile & fun to play with.

The winter penguin is one of my all time favs. I own the matching die, too, and I use these items very often.
I just love the Tremendous Treats Valentines! I have used it every Valentine’d Day since I bought it. My boy is moving on to 6th grade next year and exchanging of the valentines has come to an end. (Having a bit of a pity party right now!) I will not give up this wonderful set though. So many of the images are wonderful for other occasions.
No question about it – Harvest Berries is my favorite from 2011. I use that set all the time!

Definitely the Love Lives Here Holiday stamp set is my favorite for 2011. I love the “homey” down to earth feel of it. Especially for the Christmas season.

Oh, yea…..my favorite all-time EVER craft project were the Garden Variety peat pots from Jessica Witty (and by the way…still miss her immensely!). I made decadent brownies rather than cakes and served them up at a backyard “girl” boutique party for my friends. Gotta say “WOWED” them all! Thanks to Jessica and the PTI products…so fun!
Now we have arrived at the time where I started stamping. I have so many of these sets. What a treat to pull them out again and see them in use.
Grunge Me is definitely my favorite from 2011 and I still use it quite often. It makes masculine cards so much easier.
I love the seed packet stamp set, they are just lovely! However, the newsprint set is one I bought after the release, because I just so want to have it badly, LOL!

I didn’t discover PTI until about 2 years ago so I don’t have any of these sets. I really love Garden Variety. That would be a great addition to the flower stamp sets I do have.
Everybody always talks about Tremendous Treats and I don’t have that set. Never gave it much thought actually. But now I can see it has lots of uses and it just may be mine someday soon.
Garden Variety has my heart though. Paired with Year of Flowers and it’s the hands down winner.
The Boy Basics sets have been great. I have a son and lots of nephews so I get a lot of use from Frog Hop, Game On, Out of This World, Rock On and Skater Dude!

Tiny Treats! This was a great release for me and I remember using a gift card I received for Christmas to purchase it. I have used it on many projects besides just Valentine’s Day! Can’t wait to pull this one out again!

I love the Friendship Jar stamps as well as Bells & boughs…I use that a LOT for Christmas as well as the Tremendous Treats Christmas, which has been seen on a lot of tags over the years!
Harvest Berries from August is a special favorite of mine. The leaves are so graceful and elegant..it mKes me happy just to look at them!

I think I have all of the 2011 showcased sets today 😮 it was obviously a great year and makes it really hard to choose a favourite. But if I have to I will go with Tremendous Treats Valentine – the images are adorable and versatile for so much more than just valentines.
I am adding a lot to m wish list Love the Garden Variety set. I have the Harvest Berries and need to use them more.
Loved Button Boutique so much! Always have to mention Christmas sets, too, like Love Lives Here Holiday and In the Meadow!

I think the set that gets the most loving from 2011 is the Friendship Jar Spring Fillers. I use those little stacked hearts every year for Valentine cards & still love, love, love those tulips.
I have always enjoyed the Newsprint stamp. It can be used in so many ways. I love it for announcements. When it first came out I thought it was such a clever stamp.
Garden Variety is my favorite and I started shopping on line in 2013 so I don’t have any products from 2011. Very happy I found PTI when I did!
My favorite from 2011 is Simple Sunflower! I LOVE that set! Part of it is that I am a Kansas girl and sunflowers are so beautiful to me. This set made creating with them so easy!
I love winter penguin & Year of Flowers Collection. Both are fabulous sets! This is so fun going back and see what was released and the great card samples!
2011 was a great year. Many favorites… In the Meadow, Shape up Snowman, Winter Penguin, but I love the Boy Basics stamp series!

I love Garden Variety! But how can I leave out Harvest Berries, In the Meadow, and Year of Flowers and Friendship jar fillers? I’m enjoying the past and present examples presented each day.
My favorite from 2011 besides the Friendship jar fillers is the Year of Flowers. I love using them in birthday cars.
Background Basics: Newsprint is it for me. Anytime I’m not sure what to use for a background, I reach for this, tone on tone, it’s subtle and I love it!!

I too have a lot of 2011 Papertrey Ink stamp sets, in fact I own 4 of the 5 that were showcased today. I love the Garden Variety stamp set. It is always a great go to stamp set.

My favorite set from 2011 is Star of Wonder. I loved both the images and the sentiments and still pull it out every year for Christmas cards.

I have used that Winter Penguin so much -I should probably get a new one. It will never go out of style for my winter projects!!
I love the Think Big Favorites — they help to bring a card together so quickly. When making cards away from home, I can just grab some of them & be ready for most any kind of card.
I don’t have anything before 2012 so these are new to me. I think basic newsprint would fill in a hole in my stamp categories.
The question to ask me is not do I own all 5 of the sets featured today, but which sets released in 2011 I don’t own. Hint – it’s one less than the 5 featured here today. That’s right 144 of the 148 sets released in 2011 are happily residing in my craft room. Five years in to this trip down memory lane, my count is 406 sets owned of 444 sets released. PTI fever in full force! Winter Penguin is absolutely a favorite. I love the Think Big Favorites and Flower Fusion series (huge shout out to Melissa Bickford!) Also special recognition to Lizzie Jones who I’ve been following since she won the opportunity to help design a stamp set for PTI resulting in the Rhythm and Soul set. It’s so much fun to revisit all of these designs.

Garden Variety is one of my favorite sets of all time.
I have a tie for my favorite sets from this year. Stitches and Swirls is a wonderfully sweet set that I love. It was one of my first PTI sets that I bought when I found PTI in 2015. I love how delicate and versatille it is. I also love In the Meadow which is hands down one of my favorite Christmas stamp sets. It is also super versatile because the solid images lend themselves to so many different techniques. There are dozens and dozens of beautiful cards on pinterest made with this set. It was another one of my first sets that I got from PTI. I don’t regret that for a second!
Bells and Boughs is a great set! It’s good for Christmas, but also much more. I use the Bells for wedding cards, and the bow for many things. If you stamp the flowers in other colors, they don’t have to be poinsettias.
I loved the Flower Fusion and Tag It series. My favorite holiday stamp sets, though, are In The Meadow and Winterberry.
I started with PTI in 2010 but I seem to have quite a few sets from 2011. I love the Winter Penguin. I have used this set to make winter/holiday themed cards as well as birthday cards. Very versatile!
Oh my gosh! Looking at all of these sets from 2011 makes me realize how many I would still like to order! I love the variety of mini sets. My own favorite is Out of this world. I have made cards for my grandsons with this set. Thanks!

2011 was the year I found PTI. First order… September. Haven’t missed a release since! It’s been such fun to remember each sweet set and the joy they’ve brought to so many! Thank you for allowing us to celebrate with you, and with each other! xxx

I loved the Basic Backgrounds: Newsprint images! What fun! While I would want to use them for backgrounds or vintage elements, I absolutely loved what Lizzie Jones did with making it into packaging! That was wonderfully creative!
Oh, my goodness! ‘Garden Variety’ plants so many ideas in my heart. Gardening is my passion and I just can’t wait until springtime to tend my perennials and herbs! I adore this set from 2011. ♡

I recently purchased Postmarks and it’s quickly become a favorite. I love the vintage feel of the images, which it completely outside my usual style.
For 2011, my favorites are Postmarks, Bundle of Love, Hanging Out and Bells and Boughs (a very recent acquisition). Also need to include Happy Day that I just used with Tremendous Treats Valentines.
The tremendous treats sets are all so fun to create with. Those sweet little images are great for tags, note cards and envelopes!!!
In the Meadow is one of my favorites from 2011. It makes really pretty Christmas cards and can be used for winter scene cards too.
Door to Door is my favorite 2011 stamp set because it looks so fun to stamp with.
Hands down: Simple Sunflower, for me. In fact, this is quite possibly in the running for all-time favorite in my book. Love, Love, LOVE this sweet little sunflower stamp set! I have had so much fun with it over the years, and it always makes me smile when I pull it out to use it.
My favorite from 2011 is the “Happy Trails” stamp set. I love how the images compliment the sentiments.
Harvest Berries was one of my favorite sets released in 2011.
The only set highlighted today that I don’t own is the Tremendous Treats: Valentines stamp set though I own the Tiny Treats version. I have so many favorites from 2011: In the Meadow, Stylish Sentiments: Holiday, Peaceful Garden, Love & Marriage. But my absolute favorite HAS to be Rosie Posie.

Winter Penguin is not just my favorite PTI stamp set of 2011, it’s my favorite PTI stamp set ever! I’ve used it every single Christmas from 2011 to 2016 – if not for cards then at least for tags. Every Christmas I make a special monogrammed tag with the year added on there for my son with the penguin image. I love the combination of cute penguin and pretty snowflakes, and the price is great.
My favourite stamp set from 2011 is Harvest Berries. I have this set and its still in my top ten I reach for and I have a lot of stamps.
My favourite from 2011 was Boy Basics. Out of this World – such a fun set.
So fun to revisit these older sets! My favorite is the Winter Penguin, I just used that set to make my holiday thank yous for 2016 and some winter birthday cards. LOVE!

hands down my favs from 2011 were the boy basics collection since i have a boy and was/am always on the hunt for boy stamps!
From these sets, my favorite is Winter Penguin. I have passed it down to my daughter because her love for stamping and card making/crafting has grown!
Tremendous Treats: Valentine is one of my favorites because I actually use it year ’round!
So hard to choose one favorite. I love that I can combine sets – like Year of the Flower Collection with Garden Variety. I have used images from Tremendous Treats Valentine on numerous projects and I still reach for it!
I am not a color-er nor a gardener, so I choose Tremendous Treats Valentines from today’s selections. I loved almost all the cards featuring that set, and it is pretty versatile.

I have so many stamps from this year! How does one choose a favorite! LOL! But since I am an avid gardener I will choose “Garden Variety”! I just love all the sweet gardening scenes I can create with this set and the other PTI sets that go so well with it!

Usually I just choose a favorite from the sets featured in the post. Today I had some time for browsing, and so I looked at all the 2015 sets. I absolutely love the quilted sets. They are fabulous, and I hope eventually to own them all.

2011 started the Think Big series! I have a bunch of these and use them all the time. They are so perfect for just about any card.
I loved the tag-its series; I collected all of them. Postmarks is still a great set.
I didn’t get to buy it till later, but Gratitude Journal is a favorite, so versatile.

The Newsprint set is so useful for great backgrounds, and now that we’re into grandparent years, all the Tremendous Treats sets will get more use. Favorites from 2011 were Stitches and Swirls and grunge me. I just bought Stitches and swirls last year before it went in the vault and I love it. It is so Me if that makes sense. I make a lot of masculine cards and Grunge me is perfect for them.

Stylish Sentiments: Holiday Stamp Set is one that has proved to be timeless. Love pull it out every year for more Christmas tags & cards!
I just started to learn about PTI in the later part of 2011 but in 2012 and beyond I fell hard. Easily my favorite stamp company!
Garden Variety, Background Basics: Newsprint, est 1776, Button Boutique, Postmarks, Wildflower Garden, Year of Flowers Collection and Autumn Acorns would be my favorites. I am a gardener and so I do love flowers, but I love sets that expand on flowers too.
This was the year I discovered PTI and started stamping in earnest … until now, it had only been something I dabbled in. This year and PTI changed how I viewed this hobby. So, I have to pick only one favorite???? Sorry … I just can’t pick one. So, I will pick a bunch. It is a toss up between Daydreamer, Happy Trails, and Mehndi Medallion. Love Papertrey and the great products and inspiration you regularly put up!
Rosie Posie and Think Big Favorites are my favorites from 2011 but there are many others that I love too!
So many favorites from this year! Garden Variety and ALL of the Year of Flower sets that go with it come to mind as some of my most loved stamps of all time!

Friendship Jar Summer is my favorite of 2011. Oh that Hydrangea!!! I’ve painted it dozens of times and still love it! Simple Sunflower also has a special place in my heart.
The Year of Flowers Collection is my favorite for 2011. I don’t have any of the large flowers and this set was a good way to enjoy all of those flowers but on a much smaller scale. This set can accessorize a card rather than be the focal.
The Boy Basics – Rock On and Game On sets were awesome – love the options for teen boys…and the Mehndi Medallions – a very different set – but oh, so lovely and detailed – were awesome too!
$5 Stamp Sets are my favorite and I have lots of them. Complete sets of Tag-Its and Flower Fusion.
I have created lots of cool seed packets with Garden Variety over the years- definitely a classic!
Year of the Flowers are the best sets for playing with coloring or painting, so fun!
My favorite set is the Years of Flowers, so beautiful and so much creativity with this set. Love the DT examples too.

A close second, and probably my most used from that year is the Tremendous Treats Valentine – I never get tired of those images, especially the cat and dog!
Absolute firm favourite for me this year is Year of the flowers. Just beautiful and so versatile.

I have to say, all the Tremendous Treats sets are wonderful. Stamp & cut a pile of them. Then let the kids have their way with the markers. Put each die cut on a card to Grandma and BAM, your kids have just made a card that will brighten someone’s day.
