Welcome to the June Countdown, here at Papertrey! We're bringing you a wide variety of products this month, including everything from classic new basics you're sure to reach for again and again, as well as some fabulous new themes you may not have seen in stamp form before! It's going to be another great month, so sit back, relax and enjoy!
Coloring isn’t just for kids! The What the Doodle series was inspired by the current coloring craze. Stamp these intricate images over and over and color ‘til your heart’s content. Use your favorite medium – markers, colored pencils, pens, or watercolor. Or go for a completely different look and just stamp or heat emboss the outline images and skip the coloring! The images in the What the Doodle: Sun set are perfect for sending a bit of sunshine to brighten someone’s day! Collect all of the What the Doodle sets and create your own coloring books to give as gifts, or enjoy for yourself!
The Details:
- What the Doodle: Sun will be available for purchase on June 15th.
- It will retail for $5.
- What the Doodle: Sun contains a total of 8 images.
The sun measures 2-5/8”. The large cloud measures 1-3/8” wide and 7/8” high. The small cloud measures 7/8” wide and just under 5/8” high. The “sunshine” sentiment measures just under 1-3/4” wide and 3/8” high.
- A coordinating die/collection will be available for sale separately, retailing for $13. This collection includes a set of 8 dies. Solid and details sun (2-3/4 x 2-5/8”), large cloud (1-1/2” x 1”), small cloud (1” x 5/8”), circle (3/8”), ray detail (7/8” x 1/4”)
Betsy has also designed a paper collection that draws from the images found in the stamp set, which can be colored much like the adult coloring books that have become so popular lately! Color these pages in, add a stamped sentiment and you've got a card front just waiting to be added to a card base! Have fun coloring these images in, and when you're finished, you have something beautiful that can be given away!
The Details:
- What the Doodle: Sun paper collection will be available for purchase on June 15th.
- There will be two styles offered, Watercolor Sheets printed on high quality watercolor paper, and Coloring Sheets printed on Stamper's Select White.
- What the Doodle: Sun Watercolor Sheets will retail for $9, and the Coloring Sheets for $8.
- What the Doodle: Sun paper collection contains 18 (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") sheets, 3 sheets each of 6 designs.
Splits: Way To Go is the fifth in a monthly series of stamp sets featuring a “splits” focal image, each with their own handcrafted look and theme. Each month will include a different sentiment that is interchangeable between any of the “splits” frame images. The sentiments will be sized just right to snuggle into the space provided within each frame stamp. A coordinating die will also be available to make cutting, stamping, and mounting them a breeze. A lot of mixing and matching fun to be had, you’ll want to be sure to collect them all!

- Splits: Way To Go contains a total of 6 images. The frame image measures 2 1/2" x 2" and the "Way To Go!" sentiment measures 1 3/8" x 1/2".

Breathe new life into your existing sentiment collection with the addition of this versatile new stamp set! Pair these skinny sentiments with nearly any other large sentiment from your collection, to add more detail and interest! Change up a basic “Happy Birthday” you may have been using for years, by adding one of these skinny companion sentiments to it, such as “Soak up every moment of your big day”! Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
For my first project I couldn't wait to play around with the new Splits: Way to Go. There's just something about the sketchy lines and the geometric shapes that just speaks to me!
I thought I would use it in a pretty straight forward manner to begin. I stamped the frame in True Black and then went back in and added some of the solid shapes in a variety of blues and greens.
The small star cluster from Congratulations is added around each of the solid areas in the same color. The sentiment (also from Congratulations) was a perfect fit and stamped in True Black.
On my next project I decided to experiment with using just the top and bottom portions of the frame separately to create a border down the length of a card.
Using a whole rainbow of colors I alternated between the bottom and top images from the frame. I really like how this came together and can see myself doing it more often, even with some of the other Splits sets.
I just adore all of the sentiment in The Skinny. They can pair up with nearly anything and really help to communicate exactly what you want to say. Here I paired it up with the "so sorry" sentiment from Signature Greetings II. That was stamped in Charcoal Palette while the companion sentiment (which is masked) is added in True Black.
You could really pair this border look up with nearly any sentiment, which makes this Splits set even more versatile!
One of my favorite things from Betsy's What the Doodle collections are the watercolor sheets. It is SO relaxing to sit down and watercolor away and have a completed card front when done. It makes things fun and easy, yet practical too!
The sentiment, from What the Doodle: Sun, is added right inside one of the sun rays. I like that I could add it there and keep things simple and uncluttered.
I used various hues of orange and yellow to color in this gorgeous watercolor sheet design. I love to go outside of the lines a bit and make everything look more artsy!
The completed watercolor sheet was trimmed down a touch and adhered it to a Orange Zest card base.

Big Basics word dies are so lovely. The size is perfect and the font will be timeless. The doodle sun is gorgeous and I can’t wait to try it out with copics or watercolors. The hot wheels are just cool and perfect for my nephew who plays “parking lot” with his hot wheel collection, sorting and “parking” his cars all over the living room floor. The skinny sentiments will see a lot of ink. What an inspiration-filled first day!

I must respectfully disagree that “Sunshine is the Best Medicine” (sunshine is not good for you when you’re on certain antibiotics). I just returned from a 9-day stay in the hospital, and I would argue that “Crafting is the Best Medicine”! I have all my die-cutting supplies on hand within easy reach, and look forward to creating some fun cards to help to speed those healing hormones to my wounds while I recuperate. Prioritizing this release is going to be so hard! I love the splits series & your use of the images down the side of the card is fabulous! But I also adore your sun card, so that’s got to go on my wishlist! Love the word dies & that’s something I don’t have as many of, so may be able to justify purchasing them–haha! Oh my goodness! I have to say that the peony color is gorgeous and I’m interested in seeing the new scallop dies in more detail!
