Too much fun! Can’t wait to see what each month brings to the paper doll product line. Not only can I create great gift sets, I want to make a set that will have shirts, pants, and shoes in all the PTI colors. What a fun way to try out color palette ideas for cards…mixing and matching different combos on the paper dolls! I already want to start creating winter scenes with magnetic penguins with the previously released Winter Penguins. Oh what fun it is to….play with paper dolls!

My four year old granddaughter is a very girly-girl and I know she would love a set of paper dolls and accessories to play with as much as I did when I was younger. Paper dolls were one of my favorite toys as a child of the 50’s. I had an older cousin who was very artistic. She used to draw paper dolls for me and outfits. I would color them and cut them out and play with them for hours. I liked the hand drawn ones better than the ones I had that were store bought. Wow, what a trip down memory lane! I used to spend hours making paperdolls as a little girl, whether they were pre-made ones from a kit or booklet…or hand-drawn. My paper doll wardrobe was ten times the size of my real one and I had the best time designing my doll’s wardrobes. Now I have a 5 year old granddaughter who just got her first book of paperdolls…and I will definitely be checking these adorable stamps set for her.

This post sent me digging around in my nostalgia files, where I have plenty of memories of spending time with paper dolls. To be honest, I think I really enjoyed cutting out the various pieces more than any of the play. After all that practice, you would think that my skill with fussy-cutting would be impressive, but that has not been the case. My enjoyment of card making increased exponentially when dies started becoming available!

The dolls are cute, but I don’t have any kids. However, I can think of all kinds of other stamp sets and images that would be great to build magnetic kits to mix and match – cupcakes and icing and candles and decorations, snowmen, building blocks, etc. I’ll definitely be getting a couple of the tins and magnet sheets.
