Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!

Thank You Card

For my first project I thought I would use the new Cover Plate: Butterflies die, but cut away the frame allowing me more flexibility in how I turned and positioned the butterflies.  This also allowed me to cut away a portion of the front cover and allow the butterflies to overhang slightly.

The butterflies were colored with Copic markers after they were die-cut and trimmed.

I used Banner Sentiments to add the sentiment towards the bottom of the card, letting the notched end overhang the edge of the card.

I love how this turned out and imagine it would look beautiful in a variety of colors!

Rainbow Butterfly Birthday Card

This project uses the same cover plate again only with the color added behind the die-cut.

I impressed the Cover Plate: Butterflies into white cardstock just to give me a rough idea where to color with the Copic Markers.  Note the details I added to the wings with a white gel pen.  I then cut the die from Smokey Shadow cardstock and adhered all of the exterior pieces over the white colored base, allowing the rainbow to really pop against the dark background.

To mix things up a bit, I added the sentiment strip vertically along the left edge.

Rainbow Birthday Card

This was a really fun one to make!

Fly Card

I've always loved sets like the new Bitty Butterflies set because it's like all of the design work is done for you, but at the same time the versatility is there if you want it.

I cut small squares of colored cardstock and laid them out on top of each butterfly on the cover plate so I could cut several at once.  I stamped each butterfly and then adhered it in place in the cover plate frame using just a few dabs of glue in the center so I could pull the wings up a tad.

The cover plate leaves the perfect opening for a sentiment from the set, so I picked one of my favorites.

Just imagine all the color schemes you could cook up just with this particular layout!

Blessed Butterfly Card

I have one more card for you today, this one using Enclosed: Butterfly.  I opted to use the main die to create a stencil.

I sponged ink though the opening of the homemade stencil, then stamped the details with the coordinating stamp set in ink a shade or two darker.

I trimmed the word "Blessed" from the butterfly frame using the Gold Foil Adhesive Sheets and a little gold paper clip helps to add balance overall.
