Betsy's here today to push the creative envelope again, in the way only she can. We so love it. She's breaking out her brayer and impression plates to create some amazing backgrounds. Hope you'll join us this week in our challenge.

Great card and technique! TFS 😉
One question: Is Betsy running the inked brayer over the raised embossed side or the sunken debossed side? I can’t tell from the video. Just wondering how there can be no ink on the raised design if that’s the side she’s working on.

Betsy rocks. Seriously.

Such a simple technique for such a stunning result! 🙂

Diana – the PTI Impression Plates give a debossed impression, which is a little different from most other embossing products out there. I am running the brayer over the front side of the cardstock after it has been run through my machine with the Impression Plate. This is the sunken or debossed side…it gives it that kinda neat negative look. I hope that makes sense!

I’ve never seen this impression plate before and am wondering if it is raised or depressed. Could you do this with an embossing folder.

Betsy…thanks for reminding me I had a brayer! Ha! This was just the kick I needed to get some quick, easy and elegant cards done for the college kids care packages at church. Thanks!

Love your card, Betsy & enjoyed the video. I too hadn’t used my brayer for ages (probably years!), but managed to find it. I used an embossing folder & inked the raised side, so I hope my card is eligible for a chance at the drawing. Thanks for the inspiration!

Whew–got another one made inking the debossed side, so I’ll enter it. I like the other one, too, so now I another Christmas card made!
