I am introducing TWO stamp sets today.  Both of which are some of my very favorite basics from the March release. The first is the second addition to the Fillable Frames Collection by Heather Nichols. (If you missed the original announcement about this series, you can read all about it HERE.) This month's set has a touch of whimsy with artistic brushstrokes used for many of the accents.  This style coincides with many of the sets we are releasing this month in addition to several other Papertrey sets you may already have in your collection!

The details.

  • Fillable Frames #2 will be available for sale on March 15th.
  • It will retail for $5.
  • Fillable Frames #2 contains a total of 6 stamps (1 frame and 5 companion sentiments).
  • All of the sentiments in Fillable Frames #2 are interchangeable with the frame & images found in Fillable Frames #1 and all future Fillable Frames releases.
  • There will be a coordinating frame die available, retailing for $6.

To begin with today, I thought I would show you a few quick and easy projects I created using Fillable Frames #2.  This entire concept and collection is one of my personal favorites from 2010 and I am eager to expand my collection!

Thinking of you card
This first card is super, super simple and could be created in a variety of color schemes to suit the recipient.  You could even create a whole collection of these to give someone as a gift.

Black stamped frame
I started by die-cutting the frame from Stamper's Select cardstock.  I then stamped the die-cut with the frame image using True Black ink.

Thinking of you closeup
I stamped the sentiment (also from Fillable Frames #2) within the boundaries of the frame, slightly off-center to allow room for the floral image to the left.  The small daisy is from Beautiful Blooms II and is stamped in Pure Poppy.  I added a small black rhinestone to the center of the flower as a finishing detail.  Pure Poppy Grosgrain ribbon is looped under the frame to help echo the red found in the daisy image.  I used a black pen & ruler to draw the double frame around the perimeter.  The frame helped to ground everything without the addition of another layer.

Get Well Soon card
This second card proves that a project doesn't need to be complicated in order to be pretty.  Also, keep in mind that all of the Fillable Frames can be applied in conjunction with images other than the sentiments included in the set.  Here, I used the frame to outline a pretty floral image from Beautiful Blooms II.

Stamped leaves
I stamped the frame with Enchanted Evening ink onto Rustic Cream cardstock.  I then added the leaves to the center of the frame using Ripe Avocado ink.  The flower is stamped with Enchanted Evening as well and is die cut using the coordinating Beautiful Blooms die.

Flower close up
Just by popping the flower up on a foam dimensional and adding the strip of Enchanted Evening Bitty Dot ribbon, I am able to create a nice flat, mail friendly card.

Now onto more with Heather's Mini Scrapbook Series!  I challenged the entire team to use this new collection of products in a variety of different manners.  Some people created scrapbook projects, some made paper crafted projects and others even were able utilize them with card making.  I opted to create a 3D organizational item that I look forward to utilizing in my own space.  Not only was it fun to create, it is a "green" project since it reuses the stamp boxes you might be saving from your past purchases!

This & That Portfolio
First of all, do you not LOVE this color combo?  I am just head over heels about it!  It's so fresh and reminds me of the ocean!  Now, the project itself isn't half bad either, if I do say so myself!  I wanted something that could allow me to file away all the inspiration I collect from magazines.  I cut out pictures, rip out pages and create sketches based on what I find within the pages of the 20+ magazines I subscribe to each month!  I've tried binders in the past, which are good for long term filing, but I really needed something short term, where I could stick things immediately while they wait to be organized in my binders.  This portfolio style organizer fit the bill perfectly.

Side view

As I said earlier, this project utilizes the boxes that Papertrey Ink stamps are packaged in.  I used the the large "two-sheet" boxes.  If you don't have any of these on hand, they are also available for purchase in our store HERE.  Three of these boxes are adhered together using Scor-tape, which creates a really sturdy organizational piece.

Tabs closeup
The tab border images from Heather's stamp set along with the coordinating die provided the perfect labeling system for the various sections of my portfolio.  The 24 tab titles included in the set cover a variety of categories from organizational themes to scrapbook topics and occasions.  The double sided nature of the tabs make them extraordinarily sturdy and professional looking every time.

This & that closeup
The front of this portfolio was decorated with a title from Take Note, a wonderful companion set for this new scrapbook collection.  Notice there's a bit of the new Hawaiian Shores felt utilized as well.  The textural accent this adds is just fabulous!

I put together a little video to showcase how my project was put together.  I hope you enjoy!

Now, wasn't that fun?!?!  I hope you are ready to buckle your seat belts, because now you will have the opportunity to scroll through each of the Design Team member's blogs to see what THEY have created with these amazingly versatile products!!!!
