With the April release comes the introduction of our new Distinguished Designer who will be staying with us for a two month rotation. I am very excited to bring you Kelly Lunceford, a true artist in every sense of the word, someone that captured my attention many months ago with her signature look and meticulous attention to detail.
Kelly's creative journey began when she was just a child. She says,
"I was fortunate to be raised in a home where creativity was encouraged and embraced."
She first began scrapbooking in high school and then became more serious about the hobby after her wedding and subsequent birth of her son. Scrapbooking was an addiction with a sweet subject to occupy her time.
Kelly delved into the stamp world like most, through a Stampin' Up! workshop. She truly has a knack for using ink & paper in such a way, one would think the finished piece could be purchased in a boutique as an amazing piece of art to permanently display. The layering and dimension she includes in each project is like a carefully orchestrated symphony that always gains her a standing ovation. She incorporates amazing detail with style and grace. Each and every thing she creates looks almost as if it would have it's own story to tell, like a fine painting or sculpture.

Kelly is most well known for her tenure as a member of the Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen Design Team (May-October 2007). Many fellow stampers fell in love with not only her signature style, but her kindness and the way she seems to embrace all aspects of life with patience, love and understanding. After her Splitcoaststampers term, she decided to start her now popular blog, as a special way to continue to share herself and her designs. She posts regularly, participating in some of the many challenges that are available around the web. The inspiration that can be found there in color combos, layouts and overall design are truly mind-boggling! If you haven't taken a close look at her blog yet, what are you waiting for!

Kelly has also made a name for herself by contributing to several of the TweetyJill Publications Idea Books. She is currently a member of their design team and showcase their beautiful vintage products in her own special way. Kelly can also be found in other publications such as Paper Crafts, Paper Trends and Cards magazines. I truly believe that Kelly is just beginning to take the first steps of a very, VERY successful career in the stamping industry!

Kelly and I are the same in that we both enjoy dabbling in other realms of the craft world. She enjoys other pastimes such as sewing, embroidery and cooking. In fact, she even highlights some of these projects using other materials and talents on her blog occasionally. So be sure to keep an eye out!
Because Kelly has made such an amazing first impression on me, not only is she now joining us as a Distinguished Designer for the next few months, she is also permanently contributing to the Timeless Template idea downloads that are included with all of our printable templates. This month, along with her regularly assigned projects, she will be providing you with some sneak peeks into what she has been creating with Lauren's templates! I am beyond thrilled at the prospect of seeing Kelly's use of our images and know she will bring all of you so much inspiration!
