It’s always somewhat sad to see the holidays come to a close. But on the other hand, it is always nice to get back into a normal routine! I’ve received several emails from those of you who were lucky enough to get a Papertrey gift certificate as a gift, wanting to know what my favorite, must-have Papertrey products are in order to help you narrow down your wish list! I thought the question was deserving of a blog post, so here it goes!

How do I love thee, let me count the ways! This set is never very far from my reach when I am stamping. It pretty much lies right next to my adhesive and paper trimmer, really, it’s that important! Not only do I have six different polka dot styles at my disposal, but the set is also fun & super easy to use. In fact, there are very few projects where I don’t use one of the images! If you do not have this set in your collection yet, you are missing out!!!
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Another basic that I turn to quite often. (Just in case you missed the original introduction to this set and the tutorial on the easiest way to use it, you can find it HERE).I love using the individual elements as focal points since they coordinate so easily with a 3/4″ square punch. I love using it to create custom backgrounds for each project. I guess I just overall love discovering new ways to use this amazingly versatile set! Every time I pick it up I am able to create something totally new and different. Anything that provides me with variety like that is worth every penny of its cost!
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
Recipe Box stamp set & Recipe Cards
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
I think this is one of my favorites just because I am so passionate about cooking & organization, and this fills a need for me in both areas. I’ve already used the stamp set to create my own recipe organization system along with several little gifts. And of course, the organization system wouldn’t work nearly so smoothly without the coordinating box & recipe cards. I love that I can permanently use the same style & size recipe cards without having to change mid-stream. Having that continuity will really help me to maintain my ever growing collection of recipes, and I seriously need all the help I can get!
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
This is my absolute favorite color that we released this year. It is SO incredibly rich and so much more versatile than I intended. It is deep enough that it can be elegant an go so well with many earth tones and all your favorite deep colors. But on the flip side it can be made to look bright and cheerful by pairing it with brighter hues. I could seriously just eat the Raspberry Fizz ribbons; they are just so yummy!
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Love, love, love these. In a way, they have really changed the way I paper craft. I always used to pick up interesting candy & other small goodies, thinking I would one day come up with some interesting & clever packaging for them. And there they would sit, because let’s be honest! Coming up with packaging templates on your own can be really time consuming and such a trial by error kind of deal! Now that Lauren’s printable templates have been introduced, I have been pulling those tid bits & treats out and just deciding which one of the Timeless Templates would be the perfect fit, then click & print! It’s inexpensive, easy and in the end provides such a wonderful first impression to the recipient of the gift!
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
This was one of my favorite image based sets that we released this year. I love the versatility of the size of all the cute little animals. The larger images are big enough that they work well with paper piecing, yet small enough that they are not a chore to color in. The bitty versions of the images are perfect to use on nugget labels, adorn envelopes, embellish ribbons and so much more. And I myself have used the set in its entirety for so much other than baby projects.. The images a perfect for children of any age when paired with the right sentiment. The bunny will even work well on spring and Easter projects in the next few months!
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
If you are in need of a basic floral set and do not yet own this one, I highly recommend it. It is neutral enough in it’s basic design that it can be utilized for a multitude of styles and looks successful. Whether it be vintage, modern, rustic, clean & simple, these images can take on whatever persona you wish. And as I said earlier, versatility is a characteristic I find to be very valuable in my craft space.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
This is my second favorite color release this year. I love Ocean Tides paired with so many of our other colors… Ripe Avocado, Aqua Mist, Spring Moss, Berry Sorbet, Dark Chocolate and so many more. It is a color that has no gender boundaries because it can be made to look either feminine or masculine. Ocean Tides is one color that I am constantly restocking in both cardstock & ribbons!
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
Quilter’s Sampler & 3/4″ square punch
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
This was probably the stamp set that I felt the most excitement about releasing this year. (If you missed my introduction of Quilter’s Sampler, you can see it HERE). I love this set because of many of the characteristics I have outlined above with other favorites. Versatility, since I can use it for feminine, masculine or gender neutral cards along with almost any occasion. I also like that I can use the quilt blocks as either a focal point or background. The blocks are easy to punch out with the coordinating 3/4″ square punch, so I can create quilts of any size or shape I desire. And most of all the set really quenches my ongoing desire to quilt with fabric. It’s like I get to participate in this long lost art, only in a quick & easy format that I am already familiar with.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
So many people have asked me over the years what I use to adhere paper or cardstock to the outside of tins without having trouble with it coming off down the road. This extra wide Scor-tape is the PERFECT answer and something I can’t live without when it come to any alteration projects. Because it’s so wide, it takes less yardage to get the job done. Many of our smaller tins are about 1.5″ high, so one strip of this tape with hold any paper permanently in place. I prefer using this tape to liquid glues such as Mod-Podge because it is cleaner, easier and there is no drying time required. And no matter how thick the cardstock you wrap around a tin, this tape with hold the best. One roll will be enough for dozens of projects! I highly recommend it!
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
I hope you have enjoyed a few of my favorite things. Enjoy these last few days of the holiday weekend and be sure to try to get some stamping time in for yourself!!!

It
is so hard to decide on my favorite release of 2008–because I love so
many of the Papertrey items. I look so forward to release day every
month! If I have to pick just one item, it would have to be paper. If I
had to pick just one color, it would have to be raspberry fizz! I used
it for cards today, paired up with dark chocolate and kraft. It was a
lovely combo!
Congratulations to both Kay and Sandye! Please email customer service with your email address to have your $50 gift certificates sent to you! Enjoy your little Papertrey shopping splurge! And thanks to everyone else for playing!

I was lucky enough, that Santa shops at Papertrey =),so I have the recipe box, cards and stamps to get me started. It really meant a lot to me that he liked them and he thought it was great that I got this set to make cards for them.

Hmmmm Hard choice! but I really liked Rustic Snowflakes this year.
Carol B says
Hands down, I love the Boards and Beams set. It is fabulous. Every other house stamp or set out there is just too cutesy for my tastes, or there is the other “heavy” extreme of the Thomas Kinkaid house images. PTI’s houses are “just right”! Keep up the wonderful work you do! Wishing you a very successful 2009!
chris says
Fresh Fruits by far was my favorite set released this year!! i would love to see Becky do another set {hint, hint}. best wishes to you and PTI in 2009. >”<

I can honestly say that I love everything I have ever purchased from Papertrey. I just love the quality of all of the products. The stamp sets are amazing, the cardstock is awesome and the ribbons are luscious. AHHH! A cardmakers dream!
Thank you for the opportunity to win a gift certificate…my Wish List is sooo long!!
Happy New Year!

I’m fairly new to Papertrey (just since September), but my favorite set since then is probably Warm Happiness. I love it so much more than any coffee/beverage based set that I’ve seen before. And it’s so versatile, too, since the words are easy to change out based on your hot bev. of choice. While I didn’t receive a gift certificate for Christmas, this post was quite timely as I’ve been planning to spend my Christmas money on Papertrey products. So helpful to know your “must haves.” And thanks for the opportunity to win a gift certificate! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Do I really have to pick only one favorite? That’s absolute torture because I have soooo many PT favorites. If I had to choose one it would be the recipe box stamp set and cards. For years I have been wanting to preserve my mother-in-law’s recipes–the ones that make all of us remember family gatherings and times spent together. This set will enable me to make a recipe box for each family member and it will also help me organize the many many recipes that are scattered about on recipe cards that are too small, clippings from the newspaper, recipes scribbled on little pieces of paper…. So this set is at the top of my wish list!!!!
Carolynn F says
My favorite is Bitty Baby Blessings. It is so sweet, simple and versatile. You can really change it up with paper piecing and different colors and there is never a shortage of need for baby cards!

All the best for 2009…and keep those great new releases coming!

My ‘go-to’ set just has to be the original Out On A Limb set–inspirational, versatile, and all-around uplifting messages to blend with the various seasons. It has seen a LOT of use since I got it this year, and I need to get the newer editions to complete the arrangement.
Although I am not a “blue” kind of gal by nature, the Aqua Mist card stock and ribbons seem to get the most use; but all the colors that have been introduced have made their mark on me. A truly great find for me in 2008. Thank you Nichole, and Papertrey INK.
Sandy

It’s hard to pick my favorite, but I think the set I use the most is limitless labels (along with the candy tins). You make gift giving so unique and fun. Thanks for the list.

Nichole,
To choose a favorite is really hard. The sets that you have released this year are wonderfully fun! Since I have to choose, I would say polka dot basics, since it is so versatile.
Happy New Year

Without a doubt, the Raspberry Fizz collection was my favourite release item this year. I am in love with this colour!!! If we’re talking stamps, I’d have to say that Teacher’s Apple was my favourite. As a teacher myself, I can imagine so many ways of using this set. I will also have a blast this June making year-end thank you gifts for my sons’ teachers. Can’t wait to see what Papertrey comes up with for 2009!
Tiffani Hughson says
I don’t have this set, but I LOVE the Polkadot basics set. The thought that goes into each Papertrey set shows, so it’s really hard to choose a favorite. Thanks for providing paper crafting inspiration!
Jeannie says
I love the Spooky Sweets II set. I love Halloween and this set rocks! I also love, Out On A Limb Sentiment Set. Great for all sorts of cards!
Really I LoVe all your stuff and what great ideas you and your design team come up with!

my favorite would be the new line of colored papers. I can’t tell you how my old favorites have become paper for the kids to play with now. They don’t get my PTI paper, but other card stock is up for grabs.

This is really hard. I have admired all the stamp sets for so long. Just when I think a set can’t be outdone, the next release comes out and I fall in love again! I really like the garden, flower and birds sets. I guess my favorite is Wise Owl.
Kathy Mc says
What is there not to love? Everything is so well color-coordinated with inks and ribbons. Think the Raspberry Fizz color is probably my favorite. Could find plenty of use for the Polka Dot Basics stamp set also. Great website and lots of useful templates. Happy New Year!

By far my favorite release has been TEACHERS ALBUM. For years I have looked for something unique to use for those special people we we call teachers. They do so much for our little ones that they deserve something extra special. With this release you made it that much easier. THANK YOU.

It is so hard to decide on my favorite release of 2008–because I love so many of the Papertrey items. I look so forward to release day every month! If I have to pick just one item, it would have to be paper. If I had to pick just one color, it would have to be raspberry fizz! I used it for cards today, paired up with dark chocolate and kraft. It was a lovely combo!
Laurel says
My favorite set from this year was First Fruits! I actually used the pineapple to make 150 favors for a military wives club luncheon in here in Hawaii and everyone just loved them! The set is beautiful – yet so easy and fast!
Barb says
This is really a tough one. I like everything that PTI has to offer, but if I had to pick just one stamp set it would be Made of Snow (or Floral Frenzy-I can’t choose). As for colors, berry sorbet seems to be my new “go to” color. I used to be a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and swore that I would never like clear stamps. I even tried CTMH’s clear stamps and was not impressed, however then I stumbled on PTI’s website and placed an order, and I have been hooked ever since. I actually quit being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and have only purchased PTI since then. Thanks for wonderful products and excellent service.
Valerie says
I already had 2 snowflake stamp sets (Papertrey & Stampin Up) so I didn’t think I needed another one. But I just loved Snowfall and had to get it. It is so versatile and I love working with it.

My top 2 pics are Polka Dot Basics and Guidelines, ironically your two top pics too! I also love the Timeless Templates! Happy New Year!
