I have been waiting for this day for so long. Why, you ask? Because I finally have the opportunity to share with you a stamp set that is especially close to my heart.
Before I continue though, I have to thank my amazingly generous, especially kind and supportive, best friend… Wendy. Mazel Tov is compiled solely because of her. I wanted to design it FOR her since it is her faith, and she has always had trouble finding Jewish themed images that she liked. I also couldn’t have done it without her. She helped me compile lists and do research. She looked at dozens and dozens of drafts. Offered critiques and praised what she loved. She let me in on many things that I never would have figured out on my own (who knew there would never be a Star of David on a dreidel?). Mazel Tov is as much her as it is me. It was a total collaboration and I am SO grateful. This set is one of my proudest moments, and I hope the meaning & thought put into this project speaks to many of you.

Even if you are not Jewish yourself, if you are anything like me, you have always been a bit hesitant to send anything specific to your Jewish friends for fear that you would offend them or you just didn’t know what was appropriate when. I can’t show you quite yet (because it shows all the stamp images from the set, and we want to leave you with a few surprises!) but I have compiled a very detailed reference chart that you can print and utilize as a reference when using this set. It tells you what each image is, what it represents and when it should be used. It even includes the specific dates for each of the holidays coming up in the next 12 months! For the first time in my life I am REALLY excited about sending Wendy beautiful creations appropriate for each of the holidays that have so much meaning to her!
……………………………………………………………………………….
Mazel Tov is a year-round Jewish themed set, containing images & sentiments that will carry you through all the major holidays & events surrounding this beautifully symbolic religion. It contains 32 images and will retail for $24. There is also an add-on mini set that will be available (Mazel Tov Additions) that will expand your options even further. It contains 9 images and will retail for $5. Both sets will be released on September 15th.
The first project I wanted to share with you using this set is a little something for Hanukkah (or Chanukah, whichever you prefer, both versions are in this set!). It’s always fun to do special things during the holidays for the children in your life. How about edible dreidels? Wendy told me about these, as she used to go to her children’s school each year and have them make these as a project. A regular-size marshmallow with a thin pretzel stick inserted in the top. A simple powdered sugar & water frosting brushed around the outside of the marshmallow and rolled in chocolate sprinkle. Just a dab of frosting on the bottom to serve as “glue” for the Hershey’s Kiss at the bottom. How fun is that!

If you were to make these as favors for a party, little gifts for neighborhood friends and family or the children at your synagogue, cute packaging would just have to be a must! I started with one of my favorite images from Mazel Tov. It is my interpretation of the Flower of Life. It represents good health and a connection to the higher self. The interior pattern is very popular and found in many areas of the Jewish faith.I stamped it on our new Night Sky Shimmer cardstock with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with my new FAVORITE embossing powder. It is called Filigree and is the most amazing detail embossing powder I have ever used! All of the images in Mazel Tov are very detailed, like the image here. And these detail powders work AMAZING with them. They capture every detail beautifully! I obviously used the silver with the Flower of Life image. Isn’t it SO pretty! And you guessed it! These powders will be available on September 15th at Papertrey Ink. Gold, Silver, White & Clear!

I discovered that two of these delectable treats fit perfectly inside one of our small frosted bags. I cut a topper for the bag with the Petite Oval Nestabilities from our new Silver Shimmer Cardstock. I then ran it through my Cuttle bug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I cut a scalloped mat for the topper using the Scalloped Petite Oval Nestabilities and more of the Night Sky Shimmer cardstock. The Flower of Life pattern was punched out with a 1-1/2 inch circle punch. Two small silver star brads were used on either side fo the image. The dreidel was colored with Copics and cut out, adhered in place with a foam dot for dimension.
……………………………………………………………………………………
Some of our new Silver Tinsel ribbon was tied around the middle of the topper, holding a tag I made using the Tag Trio. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed with the same AWESOME silver Filigree detail embossing powder.

I haven’t commented in a long time, but this post took my breath away. I kind of wish everyone I knew was Jewish so I could bless them with these beautiful things you’ve made!! This is absolutely the most stunning Hannukah set I have ever seen anywhere and your art is absolutely stunning. The edible dredles are incredible too!!! Thank you Nichole!!

Nichole – this is a beautiful set from what you’ve shown us so far, can’t wait to see the rest. I think adding the sheet that explains the stamps/symbols and when to send what is so great – I have many friends that I am sometimes afraid to send a card to for fear of offending them or not getting something right, now I will be able to – THANK YOU!!!

Have you ever thought about creating an idea/tutorial book or even a catalog? There are so many wonderful ideas created by you and your design team that I would love to have them in a book form!

This is fabulous! Even though it’s not my faith, I often thought there was not enough products in the stamping world! What a wonderful collaboration! I can’t wait to see the set!

When I opened your blog this morning, hoping to see more of that Menorah sneak peek maybe, I had no idea this is what I would see! I think I probably stared at my computer screen with my mouth hanging open, and my eyes got teary as I read your posts.
THANK YOU so much for this set! And thank you to Wendy who shared her faith and customs with you to come up with the most perfect jewish set ever! Papertrey’s gorgeous elaborate designs (and attention to details) are a perfect match in my opinion for beautiful jewish symbols, but still I can’t believe you actually did this!!! *happy dance* I am particularly appreciative of all your research to have something in the end not only beautiful but also “accurate”!
And the fact that this set covers all major jewish holidays and special events too really makes it a must have!! There was NOTHING like it on the market!! Can’t wait to see the whole set! 🙂
When I saw the new night blue shimmer cardstock and the silver ribbons I instantly thought about Hanukkah, this is such a beautiful holiday with all the lights, I was happy to see you used them in your beautiful Dreidel projects.
Thanks again for bringing this set to life, it sure means a lot to me!♥ 🙂

Fabulous!

WOW – Thank you! I make cards for Hanukkah, Rosh Hashana, Passover, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs for members of my synagogue and it is hard to come up with beautiful designs due to the limited choices – until now!! I am so glad the colors this month are the blue and silver as those are the colors I generally like to use for the Hanukkah cards. Can’t wait until Monday.

Beautiful! our stampers club is always commenting on how few nice religious jewish stamps seem to be available … well, we won’t be anymore … we meet tonight and I’ll make sure to let them know to stop by and check out this set. Thank you. PS the dreidels are amazing – what a clever idea!
Alyson says
thank you soooo much for this set! I am Jewish and it is so hard to find Jewish stamps. I can’t wait to see the other stamps in the set and to make the dreidel treats for my son’s Hanukkah preschool party.

Just wanted to let you know that these projects and this set are breathtaking!
Keep bringing us elegant and versatile sets!

I am soooooooo happy that you have designed this set!!! I married into a Jewish family and it has been soooooooo hard to create appropriate cards and gifts for them over the years – the dearth of attractive, elegant Jewish stamp images has been so depressing. I can’t wait for Sept. 15th. My niece has her Bat Mitzvah in November and I can finally make something appropriate. Yipppeee!!!
Laura G. says
What can I possibly add that everyone else hasn’t already said. Everything about today’s post is fantastic…the images, the projects and most of all, the sentiment behind all of it. Thanks so much, Nichole, truly from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful projects and your stunning designs!! hmnn..not to be greedy, but how about a holiday set in Spanish? then I can die happy 🙂 LOL!! I am SO impatient for Monday to come!! Amazing!!

Nicole – All of your stamps and PTI products are amazing but this one is uniquely fabulous. I don’t spend a lot of time on-line but what I’ve seen on the market is ‘ordinary’& I was never comfortable that it was accurate. For fear of offending my Jewish friends I just sent a pretty but generic ‘holiday’ card. It will be very special & great fun to use your set this year & for years to come. PTI really listens to what everyone is clamoring for – that is what makes you & PTI so special.
You are already a great success!
Kerry Fitzpatrick says
I’m soooooo glad that you are offering these Jewish stamp sets!!! More Christians are getting back to the “roots” of their faith and these symbols have meaning to lots of us. I can’t wait to purchases these and hope that you will continue to add more symbols in the future. THANK YOU….
Monica says
I am sooo glad someone who is Jewish has helped create these stamps. It’s hard to buy stamp sets that have awkward wording in them or wording that makes no sense for a holiday, due to lack of knowledge (It’s not that they didn’t mean well). Thanks again. I’m marking this day on my calendar.
Jessie says
Yay and thank you! I grew up in a Catholic and Jewish neighborhood and still have many Jewish friends including my best friend since I was two who is Jewish! I can not wait to get my hands on this set and make things for her and her family! Thank you! Jessie

I recently ordered both the Mazel Tov set and the add-on set and I can hardly wait for them to come!
Thank you so much for taking the time and having the initiative to do this! There are so few stamps for Judaica, and especially now, with all of the Christmas stamps filling large displays in the stores and prominently featured in the ads that clutter my in-box, this is an absolute breath of fresh air to those of us, like me, who live a Jewish life in a Christian world. Thank you hardly seems adequate.
