Now for some exclusive ideas from none other than Anna Kossakovskaya.
"I like to combine the different materials to add more textures and depth to a project. Fabric can be another awesome material for stamping! I often need something special, and stamps give us this opportunity – to create unique patterns for special projects. Linen canvas is a great surfaces for this! It adds a warm and cozy texture, that will make you look at your projects in a whole new way."
- The linen canvas is great material for stamping, but before you start to work with your project – test your inks on the small piece of fabric. Notice, that ink colors will look softer on the linen, than on the paper.
- For making the embroidery effect take a piece of linen canvas and draw a circle using the frame die cut. This is will be our working area for stamping.
- Then stamp some flowers and even the sentiment. After this, fussy cut the fabric using the circle as the guideline. Cut inside this line, the resulting circle should be a little bit less than the embroidery frame die cut.
- To make the naturally looking embroidery frame use few layers of die cut pieces. Adhere them all together to get the stronger detail. Emboss the top layer with clear powder to get the wood texture.
- The linen canvas can be used instead of the traditional wrapping paper. Stamp the pattern directly on the fabric with inks. Wrap your gift with this fabric, add the twine and the embroidery frame as embellishments.
- For the card take four inches square card base and a square piece of linen. With a needle, remove several threads from each side of the square. Such cozy will be a great background for the card. Then adhere the linen to the card base with the tape and add the embroidery frame.
- You can add even more textures to you project with using more materials. The felt is such a warm material – add some leaves or other small details die cut of the felt.
- STAMPS: The Sweet Life, Stitched Sentiments
- INK: Melon Berry, Spring Moss, True Black
- PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Rustic Cream, Kraft
- DIES: The Sweet Life, In Stitches
- OTHER: Linen Canvas, Rustic Cream Twine, Clear Embossing Powder, Embossing Supplies, Spring Moss felt
- Now it's your turn! Create a project featuring a die-cut frame backed with stamped linen . You can choose to re-create the exact project from Anna above or design your own using the same concepts. Your project must also incorporate at least one Papertrey product.
- Post your project on your blog, in your gallery, Instagram or on any other photo-hosting site (such as photobucket or flickr).

I love all of the tips that Anna shares in her video here. So helpful! The idea of pairing paper and fabric together by backing a die-cut frame with the alternate material is genius. Especially since she used the embroidery hoop die and stamps, such a clever pairing there! Do you think you might make up a batch of tags like this for the holidays or just build up your stash? Or maybe create them to add to card fronts? Would love to hear some of your ideas even if you aren't getting crafty and look forward to seeing your projects!
