Tanja S. says
The best pet I ever had was my dog when I was a child, named Sam. when we went bushwalking/camping, he would always run around and check that we were all there, especially when we had broken up into two or three groups.
KristaT says
My favorites are elephants. I had never given them much thought before, but then I visited an elephant orphanage and also saw them in the wild. It was mesmerizing to watch them up close.
Susan P says
The best pet I’ve ever had was my cat Darla. She was with us 13 years and blessed us with 14 babies! She was a black long-haired cat and loved to be cuddled. She died about 2 years ago and I miss her still!
Cheryl Nussbaum says
The best pet I ever had was a dog named Duke. Our “first” Duke was adopted when I was only 6 months old so I literally grew up with him. Such good memories!
Becky says
One of my most lovable pets was a Persian cat named Puff. At the same time my brother had a bird named Mr. Miller. The two were great friends!
StephClapper says
Not only was TC (the cat) our favorite but our neighbor’s too. He greeted them each morning on his ritual walk-about. 🙂
Vicki Finger says
The best pet I’ve ever had is one I have now. I grew up always having at least two dogs in the house and right now I have two as well. But one of them is the sweetest and best dog I’ve ever had. Her name is Holly Noelle and she loves to wake me up in the morning by coming up to me and putting one paw on each side of my face and then she licks my face until I wake up. You just can’t wake up in a bad mood when that is happening. Holly will be 4 on Halloween this year, but she is still very much puppy and loves to play. She is a momma’s girl!
Karen Walker says
Our first dog, Sam, was the most wonderful pet ever!
Pat Quinet says
We had a cat named Andy. He chewed up my living room furniture, but I still liked him. He loved to play “I want in the house, I want out of the house.” That could go on all day long?
Allison T. says
Max! Our four year old Brittany spaniel is a bundle of energy and so sweet!
katevdp says
My best pet was a lovely brown burmese cat, Zoe. When she was 8, she went missing from a cattery while we were on holidays, approximately 7 km’s from our home. We grieved her terribly. 2 years later, she meowed at the back door – she had found her way home. She looked wild, and unlike herself, but she never let the house from her sight again. She lived until she was 18 and is still missed!
Lisascreativeniche says
Oh my gosh I’ve had a lot of amazing pets through the years… The hardest one I’ve lost was mine and my husbands first dog together… She was truly a sweetheart and a wonderful dog to have when the kids were babies! Miss her still
Lisa Schenck says
My favorite animal is the elephant. I love watching them at the zoo!
DebbyH says
I love all my animals – the cats, the rabbits, the chickens, the fish and the finches 🙂
Karen L says
My best pet was my black lab Daisy. She was equally loved by all family members and is still sorely missed! ❤️
Lori B says
Oh dear, this is a tough one. We’ve had many lovely pets over the years. We had a dog named Maggie, who was so good, patient, loving with our boys when they were little. They could do anything with her & she’d still be the happiest little dog. She was so sweet & smart-miss her.
Deborah Rose says
Her name is Gigi and she’s sitting in my lap. We got her as a birthday gift for our daughter who is now grown and serving in the Navy. She is such a good and sweet little dog. The best gift we ever bought for someone else turned out to be the best gift we ever received.
Luanne Ford says
My miniature schnauzer, Heidi. She came into my life after my first husband left. I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to have unconditional love from her during that difficult time! She’s been gone over 10 years, but I still think of her often and how much I loved her!
Melissa S. says
I have only had one pet, and that was a kitten we named Bones, because he was so skinny and scrawny. I picked the sickly runt out of the litter it seems. I only had him for about a month before he died. Funny thing was that I was more scared of that cat when I finally got a kitten than I should have been. The story is too long to put in a comment box. I still like cats, but we can’t have pets because of family allergies.
Leigh Penner says
The best pet I ever had wasn’t really mine. It was Lucy, a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever that we dog sat for years. Seriously the best dog ever.
Tammy says
My best pet was my Cocker, Falkor. He was part human. It broke my heart when he died but I have his gift of great memories.
JAIME ALDRIDGE says
The best pet I’ve ever had is my current dog, Maverick. He’s a 5year old Rottie and the most lovable, smart, playful, loyal, obedient dog I’ve ever owned. Right from the start he attached to me and has been a big mamma’s boy ever since. He follows me around the house. Right now, he’s laying by my feet as I type this and drink my coffee. He loves going for walks, car rides, swimming in the pool and playing fetch. Never had a dog learn commands as fast as he did or listen as well. Best dog ever!
Mel H says
My best pet was my childhood dog Snoopy-a Sheltie mix who was an amazing dog. He lived to be 14 and never missed a photo. He always photobombed every family photo. That dog knew a camera and came running.
Natalie Winterstein says
We had a dog growing up named Princess. She was goofy and fun! 🙂
Jona says
I cannot pick just one because right now we have the best dog and cat that I have ever had. I have owned dogs and cats all my life but our cat(Shamu) and our dog (Kobe) Are like no other. Kobe is the biggest snuggler and does not leave my side – he is laying right outside my stamping room door as I type this. His favorite thing is the snuggle with you and wrap his head right around your neck – so sweet. Not only is his sister Shamu beautiful,l but she has more personality than any cat I have ever known. People are always commenting about how friendly she is. When people come to visit she has to come running – she even comes to greet any new dogs that come to visit – her best friend was a dog named daisy who, used to come to visit and play. Every night she goes around the house on my husbands shoulder winding the clocks with him – too cute!
Annette Hindes says
I really loved Penny! She was a small lab mix who liked to keep me company while I crafted. She was a great snuggler when it got cold. Still miss her
MelissaE says
My best pet was our golden lab, Maggie. She was incredible with the kids and followed my husband everywhere.
AnitaR says
We had a Scottie we called Duncan. He was much loved by all the family.
Suzy Girl says
A dog is man’s best friend and that couldn’t be more true with my lab named Bear. She’s about ready to turn 13 and she’s still running around chasing squirrels. I have a lot of medical issues and she is always by my side and knows when I’m in a lot of pain and will always comfort me. They truly are the best!
Lisa S. says
My best pet is my cat Bella. She sleeps by my head at night and follows me during the day. She’s a sweet furry friend.
Kimberly Rendino says
This question is toooo hard! I’ve loved all my pets so very much. My cat Chip – my first pet as an adult, will always hold a special place in my heart though. He was my first “fur baby”!
Barb Kirkwood says
Swallow was my first dog. Named by the vet that was nursing her back to health. He kept saying swallow girl, swallow. She was an English Setter and the Best. Her black and white coat looked especially good when my Mom dyed her pink for a Christmas party! The drinkers thought they were seeing things when this pink dog appeared!?
April Z. says
I only had outdoor cats growing up, which I loved, but my parents bought a poodle when I was in college who was like a child to me. Even though she wasn’t technically my pet, she was my very favorite and I still miss her
Amanda says
My dog, Max. I got him when I was 5 and he stayed with me until just before I left for college. He let me ride on his back like a horse, he ate everything except pickles, and he was always happy.
Adele Holcomb says
Muffin is not the first dog we ever had, but as we retired and had time to devote to her, we have enjoyed her the most. We adopted this sweet rescue as a puppy and not only is she beautiful and smart (probably part border collie), but she has a sweet disposition and is the best friend of everyone she meets. Walking our new neighborhood with her made us many new friends. Now that my husband passed away, she is my sweet companion, and taking care of her and trying to make her life interesting helps me get through every day.
Diane Schwartz says
My husband and I have had 3 dogs since our marriage 25 years ago. While I love them all, our ivory lab, Pearl, will always have a special place in my heart. She was gentle and loving; the best dog I think I will ever know. Thanks so much for the chance to win and offering such great inspiration!
Susan says
Once upon a time I met a Cairn Terrier named Myra and she changed my life. She was practically abandoned by her family who hated and ignored her. I was wandering in a nearby neighborhood and went by her driveway where she lived pretty much all the time. She came down to the end of the drive, rolled over and asked me for a belly rub and I fell in love. Eventually they let me adopt her and she inspired me to get involved as a volunteer in Col. Potter Cairn Terrier rescue and I am still volunteering there and often have a house filled with crazy, lovable, wonderful terriers. All because of Myra…
Isabel Z says
I’ve never had a pet but I do love dogs so I would say that they are my favorite animal.
Dolly (scrapthat) says
I think our ferret was one of the “funnest” pets I ever had…it’s kind of like asking which child is your favorite so I went with funniest because that Ferret would keep us in stitches! 😀
abrash says
We have a sweet little dog Emma who we rescued. She is a sweetheart and loves to be the star of the family!
June K says
Michi was our loving black lab. Needless to say she was a bit spoiled since she was our little (big) baby.
Manda says
I’ve never had a pet but my favourite animal is the penguin – not likely to be a pet in the future!
Kristie Goulet says
When I was little we had a beagle! So much fun as a child.
Iris Shubert says
Our cat, Frankie, she has given us such sweet and funny moments in our home, we love her 🙂
Lenore says
My best pet was a chocolate lab named Indiana. My husband and I got him right after we got married. He went to Germany with us when we were stationed there and the Germans loved him. He was beautiful, sweet and much loved.
Sandee says
My best pet was our German Shepard Cady. She was the sweetest and smartest dog. Our family healer – we all spent time with Cady when we needed a hug or someone to talk to – she knew just how to make us feel better.
Claire A says
The best pet I had was a stray cat which we called Snooky – after several years we found out she had actually escaped from the local cattery which had been destroyed in a fire.
Terry M says
My best pet ever was a dog I was given by my brother. He and his family were moving to Florida and the Vet recommended that they not move their dog “Freeway” to Florida due to heath issues. Freeway was 10 at the time and the Vet said he would not do well in the heat and that wouldn’t be the best place for him tho spend his last few years.
I adopted Freeway and he he became my “Best Friend” for the next 8 years. He has been gone for along time now but he still holds a very special place in my heart.
Kathy D says
We had one dog when I was in elementary school (I have since discovered that I am allergic to house pets!) – a tricolored collie named Ginger. She was lovely!
Karen B says
My dog, Barnie, is my best pet. He weighs 10 pounds, but thinks he is the size of a rotweiller.
Suzanne Fink says
Dixie, our Brittany, is the best dog ever. Not only we say this, but many others do, too. She is sensitive to our feelings and is a great comfort when we need that. Yet, she knows how to run and play with the best of them. She is gentle & obedient & is a real sweetheart.
Amy Cooley says
Growing up, my brother and I had two American Eskimo dogs. They were named Jessica and Celtic (after the Boston Celtics). Obviously my brother picked that second name!
karen h says
My favorite pet is my cat, Stormy. She died about 9 years ago. She was so docile and loving. I miss her all the time!
Bobby says
Growing up I had a beagle named Judy. She was the best dog as I remember, and my kids had a little black Cocker Spaniel name Kizzie who was a sweetheart.
Stacie W says
My first and only pet is a yorkie-poo named Bayley. She’s 11 years old and the sweetest little dog ever. She never barks, is friendly to everyone, and loves to cuddle.
Laura Gaechter says
My best pet(s) are our two Wire Fox Terriers, Penny and Sophie. They keep me company and laughing during the day when the kids are at school. Don’t know what I would do without them.

My sweet Charley is curled up in my lap right now, purring with contentment.
Kristii says
Our best pet is our sweet little Ruby girl. She is a Yorkue Maltese mix dig and she has the sweetest disposition of deny dog I have ever known. She is a mere 4 lbs but she can climb the highest mountain. She has been known to go on hike over 10 miles long. She is the best friend I’ve ever had!!
Dianne says
The best pet I have ever had was our dog named Kelsey. She was cross between a springer spaniel and a chocolate lab. She was the sweetest, smartest, most gentle dog we have ever had. Even when you told her it was time for her medicine, she would jump on the sofa, go to her corner and wait for you to give her the meds.
Diane Anthony says
Our first dog, Jessi, was the best pet I have ever had. Still miss her “talking” to us and the tilt of her head.
Kelly Kuharik says
My dog Sweetpea, the first dog I had as a puppy and for her whole life that we had to let go a few months ago, she was a great family member!
Tracy L. says
I had a apricot toy puddle named April. She was very cute, but a little on the wild side!
kellyv says
Louis! He is at my feet as I write this and he is a big, loveable, teddy bear of a golden retriever. Couldn’t imagine a better dog and can’t imagine life without my sweet boy!
Karen says
Oh our little Hazelnut has been our best pet. She was a darling little hamster who was happy just to sit in your hand. We’ve also loved and lost our other hamsters, Tiny, Domino, and Lucy. It’s crazy that we get so attached to these small critters. I’d love to see a hamster stamp set….
Really nice release, as always. Hard to choose what to get.
Karen
Lori Hefner says
We had a Yorkie named Charlie. He showed up on our porch, hair all matted. Nobody claimed him so we took him in, cleaned him up and enjoyed him for two years. He was an amazing little dog:)
Patt H. says
Our wonderful black lab, Duchess, was the totally awesome! She was our neighbors dog & they decided to get a divorce & couldn’t keep her so we ” took custody”.She was the sweetest dog we ever had & followed my husband around anywhere he went. Sadly, she is gone now & truly missed. It took me 2 months to even wash the patio doors after she passed so we could keep her nose prints.
Sarah T. says
My favourite pet ever wasn’t actually ours, but my Uncle’s. It was a boxer named Sherry who seemed to enjoy our visits as much as we did. She would wag from her head to her end.
Mary W says
I’ve had many dogs in my 71 yo life and currently have a tiny dog (first one) which I really love. She keeps me company all day and on our evening walk, I have learned to act like a dog. Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer, suggested we try to experience it as a dog, smelling deeply, watching for any movements, listening to every sound and feeling the breezes. I was amazed at all my senses gave to me and have taken the daily routine to a new level – saying my prayers and praises to God each night during our walk. I have truly grown due to my sweet companion.
Dawn@Petals.Paper.SimpleThymes says
Although I’ve never owned a pet, summer days in my perennial and herb gardens are filled with with birds nesting, birdsong, butterflies, bees, squirrels, bunnies, and a family of very hungry groundhogs. (So cute, but they think my flower beds are their personal ‘salad bar.’) It feels like a ‘garden party’ here every day. I’m never alone when I’m in the garden! ♡
Silke Ledlow says
My best pet is our boxer Luke…he is so smart, loving and he is definitely a ‘momma’s’ boy! Boxers are such great family dog!
Valerie C says
Our yorkie is really a one person dog and I’m his person. He’s so protective of me. I just love him! He’s also sassy. LOVE that!
Karen Ramsey says
I have had a cat or two practically my whole life and while some have been sweeter than others, they have all had a place in my heart. Through no fault of our own, however, right now we have 12 cats, down from 16. Two indoor cats and ten outside. I think that the word is out that this is a good place to live. We have them all fixed, feed them well, and even if they won’t let us pet them, we love them just the same. Crazy cat woman, indeed!!!
Regina M. Hamilton says
I’ve never had a pet, but my favorite animal is a Hawk. They are such beautiful birds of prey.
S. Molinari says
Really great release. Your best this year! We had horses growing up that I loved, but my favorite pet had to be my dog Sam. He was a real companion and always there for me.
Marianne says
I love all of my pets, past and present, but our Barba was very special indeed. When he was found by an employee from the animal shelter, he was sharing a cardboard box with 2 or 3 kittens, so everyone assumed that he was a she. When the employee discovered the truth, he named him Barbapapa, after the character from the children’s book/cartoon.
Our Barba took care of one of our own kittens, after the mother abandoned her because she couldn’t feed her anymore. Sadly, Barba was killed by a car shortly after. The kitten is now the proud queen of our pet household and will be turning 8 next month. Her mother was last seen last September. We’re afraid she’s gone for good.
Vickie D says
The best pet I ever had is my current dog, Mac. He is so lovable & loves to cuddle in my lap!
Louise Spiden says
Buddy….our dog that past away a year and a half ago. He was so full of energy and just wanted to be near people 🙂
Sue LD says
We had a dog when I was a child named Princess. She and I were best buddies. As an adult I had a favorite calico cat.
Carol b says
Tyler, he was our best pet! Tyler was a wonderful, rescued greyhound. He was gentle and so full of love, always by your side, especially when he knew you needed comfort. I fondly remember him staying by my mother’s chair all day, when she was dying from cancer. We lost Tyler seven months after Mom. We didn’t know he was sick, (with cancer). It was as if he held on to help my Mom through her suffering. I can still see him with his quirky tilt of the head when I came in the door.

Beth Stiver says
Several years ago our Haflinger pony went to horse heaven. We owned him for ten years and enjoyed him immensely. He was a Houdini at getting himself out of his padddock and letting the other horses out too! He was always so good with children. They would leap-frog onto his back and he never even flicked an ear. He loved the kids to braid his mane and tail. He would neigh every time he saw us and beg for treats. He left a big hole in our hearts when he left this world.
April says
My favorite pet I have ever had was a dog named Gideon. We bought him on a whim from a flea market of all places!! He had a lot of energy, but was a good companion and so much fun!
Kelly says
No pets here (too much of a neat freak), but I LOVE penguins.
Karen Bryan says
Bogart, or “Bogie”, my black/white big, hefty, tuxedo cat. He didn’t live long, but as my hubby says, “he healed you”. After a 2 month hospitalization, and being on life support, this kitty was my salvation. I loved my big boy, he was such a character.
Brenda C. says
I once had a Maine Coon Cat named Toby who was just the coolest cat ever! He once set his tail on fire when it came into contact with a lit candle. I burned my hand putting the fire out, but he was fine–he had so much fur on his tail that he didn’t even know he was on fire!
Donna Gourley says
Best pet(s) would be our dogs…they’ve come in all shapes and sizes (and personalities). Some have loved fireworks, some were afraid of storms, some fought snakes, and all loved our children. It would be impossible to say which one was “best” over the years though.
Annette P. says
My favorite pet is my dog, Oreo. Also my favorite cookie.
Jo Ann Mooney says
The best pet I ever had was my Saddlebred horse, Cherry (Instant Cherries Jubilee). Not only was she beautiful, but she was so smart. You could teach her to do something one time & she would do it just to please you when you did not even ask her to. She was so loving & loved to cuddle with me. I miss her very much & will never forget her.
Cindy H. says
So many wonderful dogs through the years but my favorite was a black lab who was so lovable that even people who were afraid of dogs were not afraid of her. She had the sweetest disposition of any dog we’ve ever owned. We still miss her.
Lisa G. says
Our cocker spanial named Trixie. She was a rescue who loved going for rides in the car with my dad. Everyone in the drive thrus knew her and always had treats for her. I miss her.
Deborah Rikard says
I had a little yellow parakeet named popcorn. I never knew birds had their own personality till we had her. She was a lot of fun.

I guess I have to say the dog we have now…our first indoor family dog…a Weimaraner named Mr. Gronkowski. Named by our Patriot-loving son:) Beautiful release!!!
Julie says
our first pet came late in life – a little striped kitty. my husband is housebound and she keeps him company while I spend long days at work – they are super tight 🙂
christal mclean says
We are animal lovers in our house but the first pet I loved as a child was a Dachshund named Snickles. She loved to sit on the first step in our swimming pool and keep cool. She also had an oversized dog house that was just right for a dog and kid (me) to cuddle in. We had a tight bond as I would sneak Dad’s oatmeal cookies to share with her and I ate some of her dog food (ugh!) to seal the deal. She lived 17 years and we buried her under the flowers where she loved to lay in the shade.
MJ Geltz says
My best pet was Sara Lee, a Lhasa apso. She and I became Pet Ambassadors and went to visit people in hospitals, assisted living facilities and schools. She also participated in a reading program for children. She truly was an angel who gave love to many!
Annie Whitmore says
I have been blessed with 15 and a half years (and counting!) of superb companionship with the most precious Apricot colored Malti-Poo. Tinkerbelle has been the ultimate in Unconditional Love and my life has been so enriched having shared so many years in her company.
Nels says
Budda (a Maine Coon with king-like Attitude)became Budda-Pest in short order and ruled us all like staff,he was our favorite form of entertainment for 15 years.
Debbie P says
How can you pick a favorite as they are all beloved pets! My current dog, Sam, is a 3 yr old border collie. He is energetic, loving, fun, energetic, obstinate, playful, and did I mention energetic! We love him!
LindaCC says
My first Briard, Cinnamon! She was my first show dog, owner handled Champion! But more than that, she was my shadow and protector while traveling.
Diane Oliver says
My best pet was my dog Haji.
I got to name him and my family moaned about the Name… “Where in the heck did you come up with that?”
I had no idea, perhaps on a cartoon??? ..but I really wanted to pick it. As much moaning that went on… I stuck.
I still use that name as a password sometimes! Hugs.
Diana K says
The only pet I’ve ever had was Krusty The Cat. He was extra fluffy and needed to be shaved every summer. DS stole him when he left home. 🙂
D.Ann C says
Lookout pocketbook, I have a lot of this release that I have to have RIGHT NOW!! : )
My best pets were our three: Widdle, Puddy, Tats (yes, those were their names and how we hollered for ’em!) We always knew when dad was half a mile away as they’d come running! Then we’d all take a walk through the orchard before supper. I don’t know if they were looking forward to the walk, or supper afterward. lol! Good memories!!
Rebecca F. says
Dachshunds are my favorite! We had a red mini, Fred, that was the best! He brought us joy and love for 12 years. When we decided on a new puppy this year, we knew we wanted another dachshund. Short on legs, but long on love!
AllysonA says
We had a husky puppy when I was young, his name was Teddy. I remember how pretty and fun he was! My favorite animal right now is a koala bear. Thank you for a lovely week of beautiful inspiration! Can’t wait until my new supplies arrive.
Melanie Ann MacKenzie says
My best pet was a yellow Labrador Retriever named Teally. He was a rescue and the love of my life. He had the most unique personality with lots of funny little quirks…like…he did not like to walk on wet grass or tall grass…loved to be brushed and would lie there for hours while you combed him. It utterly broke my heart last May when I lost him to cancer. He is buried here on the farm where I live with a small statue of a dog marking his grave.
carol says
For years, I was ‘mom’ to my two miniature schnauzers – Casey and Squirt. Casey lived to be 12 and Squirt, my hardy little girl, carried on to a ripe age of 18. The joy they brought to my life every single day is untold. How I miss them…how I love them, still.
~carol
Victoria h says
My best pet was also the only one I was allowed as a child and was a goldfish that I won at a fair. The goldfish was named ET because my mum suggested it should be named after the biggest film of the year. Surprisingly ET lived for many years as fair fish didn’t tend to last long which is why they stopped giving them away at fairs in plastic bags.
Jennifer Williams says
My loving pet is Piper. She is a Shitzu-Poodle mix and she is AWESOME. Smart, cute and so very loving. All she wants is a hug and a belly scratch but she gives joy to the entire family! 3 cheers for Piper!!!
Kari D says
It is impossible to pick my best pet, each has been SO special in their own way. BUT my current little blond girlie, Decker, is my constant companion and my ‘supervisor’ for all things work related and crafty! No matter the time of day or night, she is right by my side giving all kinds of support. I am truly blessed by her unconditional love. #meandmyDo
Cheryl says
My best pet was a lab mix named Abbie Cakes. She showed up in my yard 3 days after losing my previous dog. She helped me through my grief and was the most intuitive dog I have ever had. She really was my angel dog. Sadly I lost her after a valiant battle with Osteosarcoma. I tried everything to save my sweet baby. I miss her everyday. She was my once in a lifetime special dog. I have had many pets and currently have 3 dogs whom I love dearly.
Paula e. says
Our beagle, Queenie, was my favorite dog growing up. My dad took her rabbit hunting and the rest of the time she played with me and my siblings. Great memories!
Carol Blaisdell says
Growing up on a farm, we had many dogs and cats. Some were even dropped off by people no longer wanting their pet. But the best dog ever was an Airdale named Patience, Pat for short. Best. dog. ever.
Jan metcalf says
Stella is our rescue Straffordshire terrier/pit bull and we adore her!! Smartest and most loving dog we have ever had!
Lori O says
The best pet I ever had was my border collie named Cowboy. He was so smart. I could teach him to do anything!
My second favorites are our pair of ducks named Nip and Tuck. They are domestic ducks that blew in with a storm. We don’t know where they came from as no one around us has ducks. They live happily on our tank and greet us every morning at the door when they hear us leaving for work. When they hear us entering our drive in the evening, they waddle back up to the house to greet us. They love to swipe our dogs food and irritate the cats. We call them our guard ducks!
sano says
The best pet I ever had is Founder. I was out walking and out from the bushes came this little kitten from under the lily of the valley plants. There are no homes anywhere near so I knew someone had dropped her there. My Vet named her Found-her! She is the best little love ever. What a gift!
lauradlc says
I’ve loved so many pets over the years, but my current dog Snoopy is very special. Despite being rescued from an abusive home, he’s the most loving and cuddly pet ever. He loves children and walks me past the elementary school bus stop every morning so he can wait for the kids to notice him and gather around. Can’t start his day without hugs and pets from all his friends. Snoopy, I hope you know how very special you are, and how much your Mommy loves you!
Dana Kirby says
I have a cat that I love!! Thank you for another great release, I can’t wait to order tonight!!
Chris Cross says
Hard to pick a favorite pet. We have had many over the years as we live in the country where they have lots of room to run and play. I will pick my last as my favorite, as we are missing him greatly–Gus. He was a yellow lab that at his biggest hit 165 lbs. with a 42″ waist. Big yellow giant with the most loving heart.
Charmaine says
I never had a pet growing up. My brother had a stray dog that followed him home from school, but that became his. We do currently have koi fish in a pond in our backyard. I suppose they wouldn’t be really considered a pet because you can’t play with them. But they are a joy to watch, they have all been named, and you are just as heart broken when one of them dies.
Christina S. says
I’ve only had one pet my whole life. She was a super cute Chihuahua, named Yoda Princess Butterfly. My sister and I got to name her. She never really barked and she liked to snuggle with us. Unfortunately, someone stole her from us, but I’ll always remember her wet little nose and how lovable she was.
Pat Ackley says
Maggie, a mixed breed puppy we adopted from the Boyne City shelter, was the sweetest dog I ever met. We bonded on the snowy ride home, and she became our first pet that was really my own. And we both knew it!
lisa m says
our dog buddy was the best, gentle dog, a mix of lab and german shepherd he lived for 15 wonderful years, we now have a lab puppy who is very sweet and becoming a great dog for our family.
Bev S says
My dog Riley Mae. She is so special a great dog. Got her at age 13 from a family that couldn’t keep her. What a blessing!
L. Sunn says
My best pet was my dachshund Ginger. She was the sweetest thing and had such a fun personality!
Meg Crawford says
I would have to say the two rescue dogs we have now are favorites for sure. Dillon and Dakota love hanging out with us and are such sweet girls.
Joan VanCourt says
My dearest pet was our dog, Darby. We had him from puppy, until his passing. He was 14 yrs and 8 months old. What a loving companion. I don’t think any other dog could ever heal the loss.
Rae Ramses says
My best pet I ever had was a dog named Ariana. She was named after the little girl who co-starred in the first ‘Jurrasic Park’ movie and boy did she live up to her name! She didn’t like to be separated from me and only tolerated some of my roommates. I miss her dearly everyday. She’s been gone for 4 years now and I haven’t gotten another pet yet. I’m sure I will soon because I miss having a dog to come home to when I walk through the door. Thanks for such a wonderful release and the opportunity to tell you about my dog.
Aunt Min says
Although I can’t pick a best pet, since they were all awesome, I can tell you a pet best story. Years ago, in a matter of minutes while I was unloading the car, our 3 year old son wandered into the thick woods behind our house. Our little chihuahua dog followed him. I found him right away because I could hear the dog’s collar jingle.
Janet S says
My favorite pet was Tatiana. She was a huge black Great Dane. She was so smart! If I sat down in the kitchen and put my tennis shoes on the floor, she knew we were going for a walk and she would start prancing around! If I took her to the front yard so I could work with my flowers, she would stand for a good fifteen minutes, looking around and then would lay down right next to me. At night, she slept right outside our door. She has been gone for 13 years and we are just now thinking of getting another dog. We know she will never be replaced. We loved her dearly.
Chris L says
My favorite pets are cats, with dogs being a close second! I don’t know if I can pick a favorite–so I’ll just say my two kitties (brothers) that I have right now are super sweet and we all love them!
Debbie Johnson says
Gosh, hard to pick the best pet. We’ve loved many. I guess I would have to say our dog Kona. She never leaves my side and seems to forever be a puppy at heart.
Thank you for this give away. Love all the new releases!
Denise Bryant says
I think you have outdone yourselves with the June release! Fabulous stamps and dies… so many that I want!
My first Siamese cat that I got when I was 5 years old was very special to me. Her name was Cosan.
Steffany says
The best pet I’ve ever had was a black lab/rot mix named Zeus. He was so playful and fun. Miss that guy..
Lisa Smith says
My favorite pet is my sweet little Belle. She is a black toy poodle. She is so funny, loves balls of any size and can say “I love you”! We all fell over when she started saying it to us for treats. I have been saying it to her since she was a puppy hoping one day she would be able to say it and the men in my house just laughed at me. My oldest son bought her a little pool filled with little balls and for 2 hours she said I love you to the balls until we almost went crazy! She is one very happy and smart girl! Thank goodness for pets!
Mimi R says
My puppy Kona is my favorite doggy ever! He brings us so much sunshine and happiness. Just a sweet bundle of sunshine everyday, you can’t ask for a better dog!
Elizabeth Garcia says
The best pet I had was my dog Shelby who passed away last summer. He was sweet, quiet, and funny. A close second is my currently dog Basil, he’s super cuddly and sweet, but loves to bark, so we’re working on his quiet skills :).
Amy Vitriani says
My best pet was my cat Smudgy!! He was just the sweetest cat and he was always by my side.
Niki C. says
The best pet I ever had is the one I have now. Her name is Alexandria Canexia von Kantpronounce & she is an 8 year old boxer. Never have I ever had a critter with such a vibrant personality and expressive face. She’s a little overprotective of my 12 yo son, but loves people in general and is a great snuggle buddy 🙂
Becky Green says
Our best pet was “Cherokee!” She was an Australian Shepherd & was given to us as a puppy by my sister. Cherokee was SO LOVING & PATIENT! The kids enjoyed playing with her. Once covering her with flour, & another time, cinnamon. She was sneezing with that one. I was selling Pampered Chef at that time & the kids LOVED my kitchen tools. LOL I remember once cooking & laid a stick of butter on the stove & went about my work. Turned around & the butter was GONE! I thought I had forgotten to lay the butter out. Later, while cleaning, I found the wrapper….. LOL Then, I KNEW what had happened. Another time, she began barking as we were loading the truck to move. I looked & our son had made his way to the edge of the road. She KNEW he wasn’t to be there & had alerted us! I miss her! Old age took our Cherokee. She was our BEST PET!!!! 😉
annheidel says
I’m not really a pet person and didn’t grow up with any, but we recently got my daughter a Holland Lop rabbit named Mabel to help her with depression and anxiety. She’s quite sweet!
Nancy Ward says
I am a lover of dachshunds. My first dachshund, Jenny, lived to be 16 years old. Number 3, Molly, is a dachshund rescue and my current best fury friend. I am retired and live alone, so there is nothing like the unconditional love of a dog!!!!
Joyce says
I was over 40 until I got my first pet, now I have 2! And they are my babies! I said one day that if I ever had a pet it would be a little white dog I could easily carry. Of course it wasn’t long until my husband took me to a huge farm to see this sweet little 3 pound peanut that I just couldn’t leave. There was no way this little guy was going back in that big barn, it was awful! I truly feel I resucued him from that awful place. I never really understood puppy mill until that day! My little 9 pound Maltese with an attitude will always have a place in my heart! But I gotta tell you we scored big time when my daughter saw Roxie on fb. I knew she would be coming home when we went to see her. She is the sweetest most loveable thing ever! Unlike my first who I’m sure had to fight for food, and I’m a bit Leary around kids, Roxie I have no concerns. I’ve even talked about making her a therapy dog because she is so good with people. I love my babies. My daughter who is 25 even calls them brother and sister and talks to them on the phone!
Wendy says
My best pet is the dog we have now. Hera is the sweetest, smartest, most loving dog and at 10 she still has the energy of a pup. Luckily we live on 5 acres and she has the run of the yard. She has formed a special bond with the mailman too as she races him down our property line daily as he drives down the road. What a hoot to see! I think this dog is part human as I really think she understands everything we say.
Janelle says
The best pet I ever had…well I have two dogs and they are like my children, so I can’t just pick one as my favorite. They are both the best dogs ever. Their names are Carly and Piper.
Lisa R. says
Sammy, our short-haired Dachshund is a wonderful and loving companion.
Tosha says
Smokey was the best pet we ever had. She was a “nurse” cat. If you had a pain of any sorts she knew where it was and would lay on the spot to warm it. All was good unless you had a headache:)
Nancy Penir says
As of today, I think we’ve had just about every domesticated animal, farm or wild. All have or became ‘pets’. Did you know you can make a pet of a tree squirrel? But my favorite was a dog that came to live with us because his young owner was going into the armed service. Dutch was a golden retriever. Trained on command, he was a perfect companion around small children and farm animals. He seemed to feel what I wanted before I spoke! It was almost as though he could read my mind. He was part of our family for 12 years. And a part of my heart to this day!
Tema says
My dearest pet was my chocolate Labrador.Affectionate , funny, smart, cute & human like we’re some of her qualities. After fifteen years of loyalty the pain of not having her anymore still exists.Too bad are pets don’t last forever!
Rosemary D says
Have had lots of pets through the years and every single one of them was wonderful, but the best would have to be our girl, Jezebel. She was a Doberman/Rottweiler mix and she was the sweetest dog ever!! We recently had to say goodbye to her and she is dearly missed!
Jane C. says
I worked for a vet in high school and ended up bringing home the cutest little wire-haired terrier puppy–Fritzie.Since that time I have had Newton, Cooper and presently Petey. All terriers and all well-loved. Couldn’t possibly pick out a favorite as that would be like picking a favorite child.
Sheryl Knoop says
My best pet ever was my cat KC whose fur was wet with my tears through each of my children leaving the nest, my son’s many deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, my divorce, the death of my mother, and on and on. He was my ‘fuzz therapy’!
Melanie P says
My best pet ever was our black lab Sammy. We should have called him shadow because he was always by your side. He was extremely devoted and faithful to our family. It has been a year since he passed away and I still miss him. Thanks for the chance to win.
Kristina says
We had a dog a few years ago. My hubby never wanted a dog but we had a son who was desperate to have one. So for Christmas one year we got him one and our kids fell in love! When my hubby would work in the yard our dog was right by his side. We only had him for five years because he got cancer. When my hubby found out he cried the most out of everyone.
I’m so excited about the products this month! ANOTHER Great release ladies.
StephH says
Out of so many great dogs in my life, one was especially close to my heart, my beautiful Tri-Red Aussie Shepherd Lucy. Truly the smartest, sweetest dog ever, and lovingly protective of me. Though she’s been gone 5 years, I still miss her every day.
Kristie H says
My best pet was my Sheltie named Tasha. She was sweet, smart, and always at my side. I took her everywhere I could and she gave me boundless joy in return. Pets are amazing!
Sharon Wentz says
Never had many pets, but when my son was 16 he came home with a lab pound puppy. Ended up an outdoor dog because he never got past the puppy stage and tore up everything. He would never sleep in his doghouse, but slept on top of it! Tore up every blanket he ever had. Good thing we have very mild weather here! My son took him to obedience school and he peed on the leg of the instructor!
Maureen P says
We didn’t have pets exactly, but my dad had 2 horses that were on friends’ land. I remember he would take me and my friends to ride on my birthday…that was pretty cool way back in the day 😉
Darla S. says
My daughter had a cat named Tigre, she was the most gentle and sweetest cat ever!
Angela Lemmons says
Sadly, all of my childhood pets either died or ran away, but my favorite animal is the giraffe. They are so gentle and graceful and majestic!
Beccy says
My daughters dog, Samson. He was a rescue puppy and didn’t like me for the first 6 months we had him. I now work from home and he has decided that I’m not too bad and is my constant shadow. He has the sweetest smile and is content to “listen” as long as his tummy is rubbed.
Peggysue says
My cat right now, Nutmeg, is the best. She was a great mouser in her day. When anyone in the family is sick she is right there lying beside them for hours and hours to keep them company.
Marilyn G says
My first pet Lightning (a black/white husky, one blue and one brown eye). I got him after buying my first home and of course had to prove to my parents I could to take care of myself and my dog. I think he thought he was human.
Flo says
When my children were small we bought this puff of puppy and called him snowball. Great pet.
Vicki Achzet says
I have had numerous cats through out my life. I have four kitties now. Cannot say I have a favorite, I love them all. One of the more recent cats was Thumper. We did not have her very long, she had to be put to sleep when she was two. She had a disease called FIP, it has no cure. She was a Maine Coon kitty, with a beautiful feather tail. I still think of her often…
JanetB says
I’m a dog lover, and have had dogs all my life, so it is hard to chose my favorite, I’ve loved them all! The most memorable was Chloe, my English Setter, a very sweet, gun shy hunting dog that loved to run in the hills and mountains where we live. My husband and I still tell stories about her and laugh.
Karen Schaefer says
I had a cat named Bonzai who seemed to love only me and tolerate everyone else. When I came home from work each night, she would coming running when she heard me car and meet me at the front door.
Linda Lander says
Since I have had pets my entire life…and I am getting up there in age…it is very hard to choose just one.. Not telling my current, Havanese, named Khaki, I will have to say Razamataz, a Bichon that lived to be 14…
Still miss that little guy.
Debbie Archer says
Our best pet is our African Grey parrot, Rascal. She was hatched on August 2, 1992 and will be 25 years old this year! Rascal was named by our children, then 4 & 5 years old. We know that she’s female because she laid an egg when she was 20. Rascal always entertains us with her ability to talk. She has developed quite a large vocabulary and will often speak appropriately – like when it’s time for us to go to bed, she’ll start saying “night, night”, or sometimes when the phone rings she’ll say “hello” and then carry on a conversation usually ending in “okay, bye” then making the clicking sound of the phone being hung up. Also, she loves to dance to music by swaying back and forth while bobbing her head. She’s not just a pet, she’s a member of our family!
Natasha Trupp says
I’ve always had a pet cat, so over the years I couldn’t pick just one favorite. They were all unique. My first cat, Deena, was older than I was, and she was a wise Siamese that loved the outdoors. Gizmo was a shy, but happy fluffball. Sammi was a farm runt tabby that acted more like a dog. Jessie was technically my sister’s, but she still enjoyed the whole family. Sadly they are all gone and dearly missed, but they all lived quite long and full lives.
When I moved out with my now husband, he already had a cat, Rocco- a beautiful silver tabby. He’s smart, but that also means he’s sometimes a bit sassy. We adopted Iggy most recently and he’s a lovable chubby sort of cat. We hope to rescue a third this fall/winter.
Susan Beauchaine says
MY sweet baby girl Abby. She was a English Springer Spaniel. She was THE BEST DOG EVER! That is not hyperbole! She was also GORGEOUS!!! We adored her. At 14 last September we had to put her to sleep. VERY very hard. LOVE her forever.
Judy S says
My dog Sarge was the best listener ever. Whenever I was upset he was eager to be my walking companion. He never judged or disagreed with me . A great therapist.
Susan G says
I guess my favorite was our dog, Mickey. A gorgeous German Shepherd. The most loving, loyal friend. There aren’t words.
Mary Peacock says
My favorite pet was two baby lambs, my Uncle gave to my twin sister and I. We called them Pat and Mike and bottle fed them as they were orphaned by the mom. They followed us around the yard, loved those little guys!
Arianna Barbara says
The best pets I ever had were my dogs when I was a child! Now, I haven’t a dog and I miss it more than I thought I would.
Annette Snyder says
My pet fish nemo.
Deb Hudson says
No offense to the many pets I have had (cats, birds, dogs) but I will say my Australian Shepherd cross dog. At the time I shared with her I did not realize one trains a dog. She stayed close on walks and trail rides with horses. She was great with all people and other animals. The perfect dog!
Veronica Allen says
I have never owned a pet. I do love birds. Currently I have a bird feeder for the hummingbirds that frequent my area. I love to watch them.
Marianne M says
Growing up on the farm, I had my choice of pets. My favorite was a beautiful 59-variety white dog that I loved. He seemed to understand me when I talked to him and helped me move the cows. Cried when he died and missed him sorely for a long time.
Ruth Gauss says
As a junior high aged girl, I watched the momma kitty that adopted our family give birth to a litter of kittens on leap year day. One of the kittens was Lucky. She had short black fur, yellow eyes, and the slightest bit of white fur on her chest (thus the name – she wasn’t a completely black cat.) She was the first cat that was mine. She was sweet and patient with my teen-aged self and because we had just moved to a new home, she was one of my best friends while I was getting used to a new school and a new life after my parents’ divorce.
Susieq says
My favorite pet was serendipity…Serena for short. He was a green-cheeked conure. He was on my shoulder almost everywhere I went. He was a classroom pet, a traveling companion, and friend. I miss him a lot.
Amy Young says
The best pet I’ve ever had is my cat Oreo. He’s a big tuxedo who just turned 12 years old and he is the coolest most chill cat I have ever known. He loves to snuggle and get belly rubs just like a dog. I love him so much!
Kim says
We have a cat, Wall-e, that is very smart. I use a walker and wheelchair, and he is always sitting or lying in front of me. I have learned many stunts just by trying to get around him, he always knows what I’m about to do and runs ahead to be in my way.
Mary-Anne V. says
My best and only pet I had was a hand reared cockatiel.
Liz says
My best pet is my rescue dog, a cocker spaniel named Julep. I got her after taking care of my Mom who had Alzheimer’s. I missed my Mom so much. She keeps me company. She is such a sweet dog. She rescued me!
Linda K. says
I have had 8 dogs and I think dogs are like children….you love them all and can’t pick a favorite. The most unusual pet I ever had was a rooster. I received him as a baby chic for Easter. Unfortunately when he grew up and began to crow I had to get rid of him because of zoning laws.
Laurie Page says
I’m a cat and dog lover and so enjoyed Tammy the cat and Lucy the dog when the kids were little. They were so protective of the kids.
Peggy Nickeslon says
My current wonderful dog, Buster. He is a shih tzu and he is such a comfort to me. I have had two organ transplants and he has been my buddy through I all. Even though he is full of energy he senses when he needs to be gentle with me. I am grateful for his loyalty.
Deborah Rosenow says
All of my pets have a special place in my heart and no way to choose the best, but my “Kittie” is the most amazing four footed friend. My family adopted her over fourteen years ago from a cat rescue facility when she was two years old. She is now sixteen and in her golden years. Love her to pieces!
Noreen says
We’ve only had 1 pet. I’ve always found elephants to be fascinating.
Colleen says
My best pet has always been a dog, they steal my heart. My soul mate dog was a black mix dog…she was there for me during difficult times…She and I walked miles and she was such a good listener! I think she agreed with everything I said and gave me the unconditional love I needed! Miss her still, my Nikki!
Jess S. says
Lovely release! The Humming Along stamps are amazing. My best pet is a long haired cat named Mittens. We got her from a friend who couldn’t keep her anymore. She’s the first lap cat I’ve ever had and likes to sit with me when I read in the afternoon. I have to watch her closely in my craft room though, as she likes to eat ribbons. 🙂
Teresa Currie says
No pets growing up, but 2 dogs and a couple of cats with my husband and my children.
My favorite was a miniature poodle named Molly. (Or, as my daughter and I used to joke, PMolly, the P was silent.)
Molly was very funny and could tell a pretty dramatic story!!
🙂
Sue in Grapevine says
We had a shelter dog named Honey. She was obedient & adoring of her humans. She traveled well & many of our friends & relatives wanted to steal her from us.
She died unexpectedly in 2006 & has been sorely missed.
Julie C says
My best pet was our pug growing up. He was the chillest dog, acted like he was the boss, and the neighbors called him the mayor of our street. He had the greatest personality!

Our 16 pound orange tabby cat, Wesley was a character. Lovey one minute and feisty the next! He was loved.

One of my college professors had Vizsla puppies. I was graduating and getting married so he gave us a puppy for a wedding present! Her name was Brandy and she was an awesome dog. She was 7 years old by the time we had our first child. I was a little worried about having young children around an older dog but she loved our boys so much!
Kim Heggins says
I’m not really a pet person, we had dogs growing up but they were my dad’s hunting dogs, so I guess they were not really much of a pet. I do love Joyce’s dog Sherlock, he is so sweet and gentle. I look forward to seeing him every year when I visit.
Megan Carroll says
We used to have Chihuahua….he was the best!!
Kathy Mc says
My family had a black cat named Gabby that I barely remember from my childhood and also two chihuahuas, Zorro and Pepper. They were both lovable lapdogs but barked at everything. Never had any pet I could call my own!
Kathryn A says

Michele says
My favorite pet was my first cat named Angel.
Donna Coffeen says
I have a little rescue dog named Sami (Samantha Louise). She is a Lhasa Apso I got at the shelter 2.5 years ago. I have never had a little dog or a dog in the house before. She goes to school with me every day as our classroom therapy dog. I work in juvenile detention and the teens just adore her and she loves school so much. She is my little shadow and I adore her.
merryf says
My current pet is a corgi-Jack Russell mix named Humphrey. He makes us laugh every day He’s our first dog and we had no idea what we were getting into when we adopted him. But I wouldn’t change anything!
Jen Carter says
After being married for a year my husband and I adopted a rescue dog from the pound. I was so worried we wouldn’t get her first and so the day she came up for adoption we were there really early. We got her and named her Chauncey. She was a good dog to us for a number of years!

Kailash says
My favorite animal is the lion, growing up in Sourh Africa, I was fortunate enough to see them in their natural habitat. They are absolutely amazing to look at from a distance of course:-))
Pat Whitley says
My favorite pet was a Dalmatian, Aphrodite, that we got from my brothers frat house. She was so smart, except for her fear of storms and never learned that barbed wire fences can hurt you. But, she was loved by all.
Leslie Scholes says
My best dog was Turbo – a Boston Terrier. My husband has passed away about 7 months earlier when I had the opportunity to rescue this 2 years old Boston and he quickly became a mama’s boy. I think we rescued each other. I know dogs follow you around the house and he did, but if I stood still for even a minute he would sit or lay right next to me – touching. When I sat on the couch he would sit right next to me, touching – to the point of pinning my clothing under him. And sleeping with him (don’t judge :-)) was hysterical. He couldn’t get close enough and would pin my jammies to the bed – under him. I now have his son, Dozer, and we both miss Turbo very much. He was just so sweet! I apologize for the length – didn’t intend to write a novel… 😀
maura says
My best pet is our dog, Elvis – we had Elvis for 14 fabulous years and he won our hearts from Day 1!!!
Sandy S. says
Only real pet we ever had was our Lakeland Terrier, Crouton. He was sweet, but more like a cat than a dog in having an independent personality. He loved kids and their sporting equipment, because he lived to play ball!
Meagan says
The best pet I’ve ever had is our cat we have now, Penny. We rescued her from under our deck a couple winters ago and she is the sweetest most loving animal I’ve ever been around. She even comes to you when you call her name.
Greta H says
A truly wonderful release, once again! Oh boy–picking a best pet is like having to pick a favorite child–haha! I’m a doggy person, through & through. There’s something special about your first dog as an adult–the one you picked rather than your parents. Erich was amazing, but I’m going to have to say my current guy, Fritz, is the best! He’s the 5th Standard Schnauzer we’ve had & I loved them all! However, he is the first one that will stop barking when he hears something or someone comes to the door. The others wouldn’t believe us telling them it was OK. He also has his doubts–haha–but he does stop barking & it’s so wonderful!
Emma S., says
The best pet I ever had was a papillion named Yayou. She was so petite and would follow me everywhere. If i was working on the computer she would lay in my lap, on the couch she would nestle on my shoulder. She trained SO Fast. We only had her for 4 short years but she is so missed.
joybells says
I have had four Samoyeds (white dogs that look like polar bears) at one time. There is only one 13 1/2 year old left. They are all my favorites! All different personalities — sweet, outgoing, serious, loyal, funny, and very loving.
Sandy Dayhoff says
I never really had a pet as a child, but I enjoy my daughter’s pomeranians. She rescues them, and always has at least 2 or 3 around!
Amazing release!!
Craftyfield says
I never properly had a pet but have had several cats come and live with me for a while… My favourite was a female tabby that adopted me and, unlikely for a cat, put up with my games (I was 6 at the time) and followed me everywhere. Just remembering brings a smile to my face…
Donna Kay says
I got my first pet when I was 49, Des was the perfect dog she was a Miniature Pincher, whenever I received a package in the mail she always got the box, loved watching her rip into the box, she was an amazing dog.
Andrea says
I love all my pets but my current Yorkie Gracie is really special. Gracie is the best little buddy and so smart….she waves bye bye, plays hide and seek, knows all her toys by name and gives lots of kisses. Gracie is pure love and has brought more joy into my life than I could ever have imagined.
Carolee McCaslin says
We have a little Westie(Maddie) who is 16 years old. When my son was in 5th grade he was diagnosed with a bone tumor in his leg. After going through numerous surgeries and treatments he had a long road to recovery and had to spend a lot of time inside. We got Maddie to be a companion to him and she was the best medicine as she was always by his side and gave him unconditional love!!! She is the sweetest dog that anyone could hope for:)
Suzanne A. says
My favorite pet is my West Highland Terrier that I was given for my birthday, almost ten years ago. His charming ways bring us so much joy and laughter!
Charity Chamberlain says
Can’t wait for this release! I have so many things on my list but that humming bird with the fushia stamp set is at the top! I have had a lot of animals due to loving animals and rescuing them so it’s extremely hard to pick just one as the best so what I will do is tell about the one I had the longest which was a dachshund. His mama died while giving birth so I became his momma and bottle fed him from the moment he was delivered. I had him for over 17 years and he was such a funny lovable and loyal dog and meant the world to me!
Mary Parker says
We have been blessed with so many good pets over the yrs. A FEW hold special places in my heart.
My husband wasn’t an animal person; I was. It saddened me to realize I wouldn’t have another dog. Before our 1st anniversary, he surprised with a part Doxie named Ralph!
Daisy Dog, (part Jack Russell, part jackass) grew up with our granddaughter. She was always happy! Her tail wagged all the way to the rainbow bridge
We drove over 1000 miles to get a real flirt & clown Quincy Jefferson, a double-dapple Dixie fr my best friend aka adopted sister, fr high school days. He was a piggo, true to a Doxie nature, eating anything in sight. He got into something he shouldn’t have. By time we found out, it was too late.
We were terribly upset with their passing. DAISY always had a buddy so we picked Lucy Belle out of a pickup truck at a Swap meet. She’s our almost all, wire haired midi-doxie. When Daisy passed we were going to be a 1-dog family. I am Lucy’s human. She went to work with me, sat on table beside me in craft room, and now if anyone gets too close, she lets them know. But like us, she was moping around over Quincy, they were playmates, and then, the Old One, Daisy passed. She was too distraught without another companion. WE all were. My husband came home one day, said be found a surprise for me, and handed me a paper…he found Sir Rusty Wiggles Dude at the local animal shelter. He had been there right as he arrived and was 1st on the adoption list. Rusty is our long-haired Doxie. Poor guy was severely underweight, full of fleas, and we believe abused. As if that wasn’t enough, this was when the economy tanked, he was either abandoned to the streets or locked in room a room somewhere. He barks horribly whenever my husband, and some guests, leaves room. He also ate poo constantly when we got him. That is a sign of being starved. He has tons of hair. It’s really soft, even the vet comments on how soft he is. He wiggles all over when talked to or pet. When he got his 1st bath, I cried when I saw him soaking wet. Under the fur, he was skin & bones. He is dumb as a post, but is now a happy boy, so loveable. Even though I have to fight him for my pillow at night…thanks to our granddaughter. He will not climb stairs; that’s good for a Doxie. I have a chairlift. He jumps on the foot rest of that and rides up & down with me. He has adjusted to our house just fine, gained 11 lbs. He was hurt in ribs sometime, so we have to warn people to be very careful when they pick him up.
I have 2 very special ladies in my life: Karine & Candice. (Sbe introduced Candice & I TO Papertrey.) I have many memories with these ladies. I cannot do as much as I used too, but I appreciate these 2 so much! Should something happen to us, Karine gets Rusty. She helped name him and is his girlfriend. He simply loved her most fr the 1st time he saw her. Candice, gets Lucy. I think Lucy likes her almost as much as me! She massages Lucy’s ears.
1 Doxie is great. 2 Doxies, aka my Lucy Belle and
Sir Rusty Wiggles Dude, are a little bit of Heaven on earth. They are comedy as it should be on TV! I thank the Lord daily and ask him to watch over and bless the friends I love & consider my family, my husband, and The Weiners. I am truly blessed.
Elise Smith says
The best pets I’ve ever had, I have right now. Growing up, we always had cocker spaniels. My parents still have one and I love that breed, but when I got married my husband and I got 2 Bassett hounds, Daisy and Duke. They are the absolute sweetest dogs in the world. Daisy is a daddy’s girl and Duke never leaves my side.

Easy question…my lab has been the dearest pet to my heart. I love all my animals, but my lab, Hootie, stole my heart. He passed three years ago, but he left his imprint on my heart forever. I miss him every day. He was the best dog I’ve ever had the pleasure of sharing my life with.
Jodi C. says
So hard to choose which is the best, they are/were all irreplaceable for specific reasons. Though…. I am disabled after multiple back surgeries since age 12, along with other chronic pain issues and our 2 cats definitely know when I am at my worst and try to comfort me, they have done this since they were tiny kittens. I don’t know what I would do without pets in my life ???
Caitlin Rebecca says
My first dog as a child Misty will always be my favorite!
Karen B. says
My two dogs right now, they’re rescue dogs and very sweet.
Vikki H says
My favorite pet was Freckles, a childhood cat who lived a long life of being spoiled by all.
Angela W says
I could write a book on the best pet I ever had, who was Frankfurter, my wiener dog. He just passed away in May and we all miss him terribly. He was smart. He learned when he was very little to push the button on the door so the window would roll down in the car and he could stick his head out! He had the sweetest, kindest spirit. He definitely had his own personality with his own likes and dislikes. He loved his family dearly. I would give anything for a little more time with him. He was the best.
Katherine says
My cat Hobbs is the best pet! He is a little crazy but lots of fun. Almost like a dog (in a shelter for a year) he will fetch, shake hands, sit! He is so sweet.
Mary K says
I have the sweetest little rescue mutt named Zoe. She demanded to come home with us from the shelter, and we’re all head over heels in love with her. She’s smart, full of amusing antics and a real beauty with gold eyelashes. She may be small, but she’s a fierce little hiker and rock scrambler.
Dawn M. says
We’ve always had pets of all kinds from a chinchilla to seahorses to dogs, cats and chickens. I love animals! If I had to pick just one it would the first dog I adopted from a shelter. A little silver poodle named Licorice. I was at work and saw a listing for the shelter that listed dogs whose last day it was before being euthanized and when I saw this little dog I had to leave work early to go get her. She was so sweet, smart and so grateful to be here.
Sheri Elmont says
First was our family dog, Frisky. She was a very good dog and a good listener to all my childhood woes. Second is my current dog Sassy. And she is every inch her name. She pretty much runs things around here, is high maintenance, and keeps me laughing all the time. She’s a Bichon, so that’s her job!
Carol Doggett says
I am the proud owner of 4 mini red dachshund boys! My first two have passed…but my original baby was my most favorite. Franky was an incredible dog! I love them all and miss the missing two everyday. My current boys brings us all a load of happiness unless they get muddy and drag it through the house! 😉
Mary says
My favorite pet was our dog named O.D. (Our Dog)
Michelle Michael says
Love all the cats I have ever owned! Have 2 now that are quite special. Best dog was a Border Collie named Bella.
sallie says
No pets…but 3 grandcats that I enjoy baby-sitting. Two are “I want to be where you are” personalities and one likes to find his own quiet place. I enjoy them all.

I haven’t ever had a pet, but I adore elephants and peacocks being a close second. They are both such regal creatures!
Shirley rea says
Our Springer Spaniel Chipper loved his family with every breath. We have such wonderful memories of this precious animal.
Lori Lehanne says
My childhood cat, Nacho was the sweetest cat ever. She lived with us for 18 years! My sister and I spoiled her with all sorts of food. We thought she needed at least 2 dry foods to choose from each day as well as canned wet food, peeled raw shrimp and even chopped up raw liver sometimes (eck, I still can’t believe I’d do that for her). Her food spot looked like a kitty buffet everyday.
Margaret Fitzke says
Her name was Zippy, she was a Blue Healer dog that stole my heart. She has been gone 3 years and I still miss her every day.
Dennisonka says
Tough question because all of my pets have literally been the best. But to focus on two highlights: I have had an amazing collie named Chaucer (we got him when he was ten; he passed at fourteen; I have never met another dog like him – he was an amazingly sweet, gentle, and loving dog) and an amazing cat named Darcy (he picked me out when he was a kitten – started climbing on me when his fellow kittens hid; he was mischievous and about as naughty as they get, but so full of love, joy, and genuine affection; a piece of my heart died with him). Sweet, sweet memories of these furry loves … I have been blessed.
Reva Brightman says
Best pet–I have had 4– all rescue dogs. So loving, so forgiving of their life before they found me. Rescued dogs truly are appreciative and they give back in so many ways. All of mine were and are special.
Marianne says
A West Highland Terrier named Scruffy that lived to be 18 yrs. was the greatest pet we had. He never met anyone he disliked. We always felt he would welcome even burglars into the house. Still miss him!!
Janet Schlagel says
The best pet I have had may be my current dog, Dolly. She is a powderpuff Chinese crested toy. She is a sweetheart.
Marty M says
Miss Kitty, my favorite cat of all time. I rescued her from a campground in Big Sur, CA and loved her for 21 years.
JeanMarie says
My best pet ever was a Yorkie named Spanky. We had her 11 years. My kids had left home by the time we got her, so she was my everything. My kid, my baby. She went everywhere with us. One time we went to look at some furniture at someone’s house. We left her in the car. I didn’t know my husband left the keys in the car when we locked it. We got her real excited thru the window, and she danced around and stepped on the unlock button to unlock the car. She was a great dog. I miss her.
Victoria Nelson says
I’m a cat person through and through. I’ve had several cats throughout my life, but my current cat Augie is like no other cat I’ve had. I got him when he was six weeks old and in the seven years since then I’ve watched him grow from a timid, wide-eyed kitten to a big, confident, “I rule the roost!” cat! He’s a combination of sweet, loving companion and a ferocious, calculating hunter. He always waits for me to get home from work and usually wants me within sight or earshot the rest of the time. He’s my best kitty pal!
Nancy M says
I’ve never had a pet because of allergies. The one animal I wish that I wasn’t so terribly allergic to is horses because I would love to ride.
Maddie Mc says
Sierra my schnauzer as a child will always be my favorite:)
Tracy says
I have loved all of the dogs that I have ever had. Our current is a hound mix from the shelter and he is the sweetest thing. Dogs are nothing but love! Another great release.
Wanda M. says
Our current cat, Oreo (yes, he is black & white). I never had a cat as a child. He use to go hide when family or friends would come but now he joins them. He knows this is his home and they will eventually leave. He is such a lovable fur baby.
Tammy W says
My favorite pet(s) would have to be our current dogs, Roscoe and Rylee. They both love to snuggle with us when my husband and I like to take an occasional mid-afternoon couch nap. Roscoe always lays in the bend of my knees when I lay on my side. lol And Rylee squeezes her way behind my husband’s back to hide.
lainey says
I never had a pet but I do like cats, especially kittens. So cute!
Ashlee Diane says
I have had many wonderful pets through the years so I can’t choose a favorite. I will say I am a dog lover 🙂
Diana B says
All my pets I consider wonderful. However, my current and only pet, a cat, has been a gift from God. I adopted her three years ago after my former adopted cat passed away from mammary cancer. It was heartbreaking and after 15 years of life with her, I didn’t think I had room for another. Seven days to the date of her passing I adopted Zoya and when I ended up in the hospital for many months, it was she who kept me going. Even now, a year still in recovery, she continues to be the reason i fight to wake up each day. Truly a gift from God.
Karen cash says
One of my favorite animals is the HUmmingbird. My grandmother always had several feeders, and we would sit and watch them for hours. It’s a great memory for me, and I love to stamp all things HUmmingbird to this day!!
Diana B says
Bless you for giving these dogs a second chance.
Candi says
I can’t wait!!! Anxiously looking forward to 10pm! I’ll be snuggled up awaiting the time with my 3 cats, who collectively are my very best pet… two of them are rescue sisters and they have given new life to our grumpy ol’ man cat who now runs and plays like a kitten with his adopted sisters 🙂
Sharon D. says
Growing up we had a schnauzer named Lily. My brother worked part time at a pet shop. He brought her home for a visit & she never left. She was the sweetest dog.
RedGem says
I have never had a pet, when I was working I felt bad that any animal was at home all alone! Once I retire I would love to get a dog, maybe a German Shepard.
Sandy Vincent says
We had a giant 120 lb. dog named Tilly. She was my son’s best friend when he was growing up. She was a great dog and all our friends loved her too. I miss our sweet girl.
Deanna Morgan says
I’ve had dogs all my life (until now). I’ve loved each and every one of them–and I’d consider each one as my favorite. So I’ll tell you about Joshua, a black and white cockapoo, who was such a sweet dog. People always stopped to ask if he was a young English Sheep Dog because of his coloring. He was such a great pet that when he died and I got another cockapoo, I couldn’t even think of another name to give him except Joshua, Too. And, he became by favorite for 14 years. Now he’s gone, too.
Linda M says
My favorite pet was our first family dog, Winston, a doberman. He was the best mannered, well behaved dog anyone could ask for. He would monitor the cats across the street without leaving the yard, ever! He would check on our babies as we brought them home, give them the sniff test if someone else had held them, then later remained calm and content as they climbed, sat and played with him. If too many people came over he would walk off to a quiet place and relax. He had a great life and we enjoyed every minute with him.
Lisa P says
My best pet was our dog while I was growing up, named Pooch, original I know! Her unconditional love helped me through a lonely difficult time.
Leslie Bass says
My daughter wanted a kitten of her own. Her and her Dad found an ad and went a chose a small grey feral kitten from a couple who had found them in their yard. She was so tiny and scared. We named her Ophelia. Today she is the best at we have EVER owned, very intelligent, loving and beautiful.
Teresa F. says
My wonderful Labrador named Louis! Such a sweet dog and loved everyone! If I could have cloned him I would and have him back again 🙂
Patty says
When I was little, my family had the cutest kittens, named Checkers (she was black and white) and Blackie (all black).

I don’t have a pet but I do love animals at the zoo, like elephants and zebras.

The best pet I have ever had was our Black Lab, Jesse! We rescued her from a horrible home life and fell in love with her immediately! On Memorial Day 2008 Jesse had a massive seizure (first one she ever had) and we took her to the vet to stop the seizure and find out why she had it.
It was a good news, bad news scenario. We were told that she would probably need to be on medication for the rest of her life to help with them. We were also told that we were going to have grand puppies soon! When we asked if carrying the puppies and giving birth would make Jesse worse they said that it would be safer for to do that rather than doing surgery to stop the pregnancy. Luckily she only had a couple seizures during the pregnancy and in July on the hottest day of the summer she came and lay down on my lap and proceeded to give birth. She was unsure what to do when the first puppy arrived so I showed her how to remove the sac from the baby and to stimulate it. Sure enough, when the second one arrived she knew just what to do! Over the course of several hours she gave birth to 8 black puppies and 2 yellow pups. When she didn’t have any more after another 3 hours we thought she was done so we went to bed. Early the next morning we discovered one last puppy had been born. Sadly, she didn’t make it.
Over the course of the next few years Jesse was rapidly aging due to the seizures getting worse and lasting longer. In 2012, even though the vet argued against it, we made the hard decision to have her put to sleep because her quality of life was getting less and less after each seizure. She also became aggressive right before a seizure came on and would attack our little Pomeranian, Mandy. We were afraid that she would try to attack one of our grandchildren or us also.
We brought her home and she is in her final resting place in our backyard. We miss her every single day and when I am having a particularly bad pain day I swear that I can feel her leaning against me and licking my hand or cheek. We now have another black lab and there are times that we will see Jesse running towards us in Aussie’s body! There is a certain look in his eye that looks like Jesse at those times! She will always have a place in our hearts!

Sorry, I didn’t mean to write a novel in my comment! LOL
Barbara DeBose says
We had a cocker spaniel named Brandy when I was in high school. She was such a sweet dog! When I had my son and went to visit my dad, she was so curious around his bassinet. We let her see the baby and after that when he slept in the bassinet, she would sleep underneath it. Miss that sweet dog!
Stacy Simpson says
Our first dog. He was a Shiba Inu. My husband and I got him as a puppy after we had been married a year. He lived to be 17! He was such an easy-going dog. He was so good with our boys when they were little. Our whole family misses him.
Crystal M. says
My best pet was my budgie named Jazzy. She liked to sing along when I practiced on my flute in middle school.
Donna K says
My best cat was my first cat – Abbie. She was 1 when I got her and she lived to be 18. She didn’t leave the house until she was 15 and had to go to the vet with a bladder infection. Otherwise she was so healthy. She was never a minute of trouble and left the world that way too. I came home from work, fed her and went out to rake leaves. When I came back in 30 minutes later she had passed away – probably a heart attack or stroke. Best kitty ever, although I love the 2 devils I have now too.
Michele F says
Sadly, both gone – but our best pet[s] were litter-mates, diabetic [yes-insulin dependent] and the best buds a guy and girl could ask for, for 18 years… miss them always: Calvin & Hobbes!

We had a beautiful Anatolian Shepherd. He was massive, but gentle and sweet. We happened to live in an 800 sq ft house at the time, the dog took more space than we did! Appropriately, he was named Samson.
Jan Pufall says
Our girls grew up with loving golden retrievers. When the dogs are young they are playful and attentive. As they matured, they were devoted members of our family. When our last one was near death, my husband told her to hang in there, through the holidays, so our grown daughters could see her one more time. She passed away the day after the girls left. Family.
Rachel W says
Oliver was my favorite (and how I got my screen name). He was a greyhound mutt that we got from the shelter. He was a part of our family for 15 years. Not the smartest dog in the world and would chew something up when mad or left alone too long. But Oliver was calm and loved to be loved. He died of bone cancer three years ago. I don’t miss the hair in the house, but I miss my little friend.
Monika Davis says
My family always had cats and dogs… but I have never had a personal pet… my step-son had a black cat named Onyx a long time ago who was the best cat… so loving and just awesome… unfortunately he got out one day and he never came back.
Angela TX says
My daughter won a goldfish at a school carnival when she was six. Swimmy was part of our family for six years. We arranged fish sitters for her if we traveled, she survived a harrowing trip into the garbage disposal, and she traveled from NJ to TX in a bowl when we moved. I’ve never had a traditional pet and could not believe how upset I was when she died. Now my daughter wants a dog 🙂
Miriam Prantner says
Well, I feel like I can’t quite answer this question. We’ve had two beagles, Geronimo and Oshie and they are like our kids, so we love them the same.
Dianne S says
Our childhood dog, Popeye, saved our grandmother’s life. When we moved we had to leave him with our grandmother. He used to accompany her to her daily morning mass and sit quietly outside the church until mass was over and then walk with her wherever she went on errands after mass. He alerted my grandmother to a fire in the neighborhood and she was able to get away in time. Sadly, in the chaos of that massive fire which burned down many houses, he must have run away. But we always remember Popeye, our hero.
Holly Havnaer says
Great release!
Ugh, this is a hard question. My husband and I don’t have kids, but we bought a little kitty, Luna, before we got married. Then 2 years after we got married, we got a sibling set of Dalmatians, Dee Dee and Dexter. They were the BEST, cutest and sweetest animals ever! They were our children. Unfortunately, they all passed within the last 10.5 months. It’s been devastating. Our kitty was 16, Dee Dee was 13 and Dexter was almost 14. They gave us so many wonderful happy years.
Jean R-T says
My best pet was the Dachshund, Max, I had when I was a little girl. He kept my brothers and me company and was so fun to play with.
SherryG says
Our favorite pet was a white schnauzer we found playing with her siblings in a playpen at a farmer’s market. Our entire family fell in love with her immediately and named her Beauty.
Nita K. says
Other than fish, I’ve never had a pet. My kids are now at the ages where we are considering a dog. I would love to have a sweet dog in the family.
Tammie Koehnen says
The best pet I ever had was an old fashioned extra large German Shepherd that we got from the humain society. He was the most loyal dog we ever had. ? Fabulous June release!!!!
susan hatfield says
My best and favorite pet was Mousse, our golden retriever. She was so sweet and loving and we had so much fun with her throughout her 17 years. Pets are family members aren’t they?
Jeni says
My best pet I ever had was my cat “Max”. He’s no longer with us though & I miss him everyday. He was never much of a lap cat but he was always there when you really needed him. He was also good about “meowing” when something wasn’t right either. He was our protector 🙂
Leslie Deering says
This best pet we had was a beautiful German Shepherd dog whom alerted us when my little boy had his first seizure
during the night . That was seventeen years ago and he was Jacob companinon and therapy dog for 14 years. He would go up on Jacob’s wheelchair and make him laugh when he was upset ! Such a blessing !
Lauren Yoder says
Best pet is my current one, Ruby! She is a 6 month old Fox Red English Lab and she is such a bright, loving, loyal girl. She is our first puppy ever and is so much fun (and work!).
Tiffany R. says
I have had so many pets, this is hard. I think my favorite is my first. My parents got a cat when I was born. And she would watch over me. As I grew, she would always be near me. As soon as I could sit she was on my lap, and there she stayed. Her name was Taffy and we lost her when I was 10. She was such a good kitty.
Steffi H. says
I´m coming from a cat loving Family, and I´m a cat Person myself. I think, black kitties with White mittens are cutest, but I would love all meow pals. My latest cat is called Sweetie, her brother is calles Bully (both black with White mittens).
Sharri R says
That’s a really hard question. I’ve had a lot of animals is my life including the 2 precious Yorkies that I have now. But, the best one would have to be a big, long-haired yellow cat named Troy that I had as a child. He was born in our barn on Easter Sunday, and my brother and I got to watch the birth. He was so laid back you could pull him across the floor by his tail and watch the static electricity spark from his body. He loved it!
Unfortunately, he disappeared about 6 years later along with our new German Shepard puppy while we were gone to a funeral, and I never saw him again.
Caren C. says
Best pet was my dog growing up, Duchess. She was so awesome!
Kelly Schirmer says
Can’t choose a favorite, but dogs are the pets for us! Our sweet black labs Olive, Pearl, we love our pups 🙂

I have the best pet ever, a Welsh Corgi! Hes going to be a year old on the next release day! Hes a diabetes service puppy and is a huge help 🙂
Julia Muscari says
My only pet (and my favorite!) was Duchess, a predominantly toy collie (with about an eighth of something else). She was so loving–when I got home from school, she would run up to greet my and plant her paws on my chest and slater kisses!
Karen B. says
Our parakeet Buddy was awesome. He could talk and was very people friendly. I like dogs and birds. 🙂
Cindy Hanson says
My favorite pet was my Golden, Biscuit. She could talk to us, as my boys can attest!
Karla says
The best pet (I) ever had was a collie mix that we called Shep. My brother found him on the day that I was born. We kept him at my grandparent’s farm. He would let us use him as a pillow. 🙂 He was a protector of all the farm cats.
Laurie Hunt says
The best pet I ever had is every pet I’ve ever had! For me this question is like asking a mom which child is your favorite. GeeGee was my first. Toy poodle as you may have guessed and truth be known she was probably my mom’s pet more than mine but I loved her just the same. Then came Cotton, the American Eskimo. She and I had a special bond and were very simpatico. We understood each other like no other. Then my Keeshond, Dagny. She was the devil dog! Impish until her last day! Now I have Britt and Lana my Cavelier King Charles Spaniels. They are the best behaved of the lot and can be represented with one word. Love. Both girls are pure love but each in her own way!
SentSue says
We had a chocolate lab named Duke. He was the best dog with our kids growing up. Gentle giant at 150 lbs.
MaryAnn N says
Best pet ever was my daughters dog. , Kramer. We have the pleasure of dog sitting the best dog ever, we called him our grand- puppy. He was the best trained dog we have ever met.
The most friendly, lovable, energized chocolate lab ever. Kramer was 13 when he passed on the day before our granddaughters first birthday. He is sadly missed by the whole family.
Brenda Kuder says
My cat “Baby” is pretty special. She is 19 years old. She likes to sit in my lap and be petted. She is so sweet and loving.
Cynthia L Clark says
Our only pet growing up, a dog named Tippy. He was supposed to be our younger brother’s dog, but I think he liked our Dad the best.
Cheryl B. says
The best pet I ever had was a miniature poodle named Snowball. She was quite a lady.
Well behaved and beautifully house trained. The craziest pet was my wire haired fox terrier named Montgomery. Absolutely insane. We were never able to make him behave. People said,”Well, he is a terrier!”. I think they meant “terror”!
Rachael Burdick says
That’s a hard question. We had a wonderfully sweet dog named Belle that we lost just under a year ago. In December we got a new dog, Maggie. She’s also super sweet. I love them both so much, it’s like asking me who my favorite child is.
Kristen says
I have to say that every “pet” has been the best for all different reasons. From my SCOTTISH TERRIER who sat and listened hours upon hours as I went through my divorce; to my son’s fish who survived his “little 3 year old “I was just feeding them mommy”, when he dumped a box of cream of wheat into the fish tank. CASSIE my cat in college who ran around the apartment encouraging me as I studied and TINKER my dachshund who was with me through so much! I could go on, much to your chagrin, I’m sure, but you get the picture, those fauna who are part and parcel of the lives we lead and add so much to living.
Shawn Wenrich says
I’ve loved all of my pets of course but the most memorable would be my dog Butch. He was 100% my dog and followed me around everywhere. I will always remember him fondly!
Liz mcallister says
Nearly every per I have had has been wonderful. Like children they have both good and bad. Rodney was as smart as a whip and would run to get my keys from my purse if asked hi if he wanted to go in the car, or get a leash if I said the word walk. My childhood dog Sam was the most gentle soul. Soft and cuddly, he adored my dad. We had a friend that Jared dogs who offered us any amount if we would let him keep Sam when we were moving. We had a boat in a small marina and Sam would jump into the canal and swim across to see Art, the man who detested dogs. They fell in love. ThAt brings me to Gracie, we got the mini
An doodle as a puppy. She is the most loyal non alpha dog I have ever known. She just wants to be around the people she loves. She will snuggle on the couch and if to pat your shoulder she will snuggle her muzzle against your shoulder. There is no such thing as my favorite dog. They are all a little bit of heaven!
Martha says
My favorite pet is my niece’s dog, Leo.
He is so adorably sweet.
Patti says
Tagalong! It was a cat that “followed me home” from the movies : )
Thank you for the chance to win!! wonderful new release – as usual!

Laura Buehler says
My current dogs, Stormy & Sky are pretty wonderful, but my best dog was Indigo, a beautiful, long-haired German Shepherd mix. She was sweet and friendly, but also protective of me. She liked to sleep in the doorway of my bedroom, facing the hallway. It was clear she planned on stopping any possible intruders, even though there was never a threat. It was great knowing she planned to protect me.
Christine Nixon says
the best pet we ever had was a Collie/Shepherd mix we named Scout. Scout was the best watch dog and most loving dog I could have asked for. I knew my kids were safe as long as Scout was with them and he was always with them. Loved that handsome boy!
Candice L. says
My favorite pet was a long hair Chihuahua I had in college. We went everywhere together including classes, and sits on my shoulder when I drove. The calmest, quietest, and cutest dog I have ever had.
Dana Nelson says
I haven’t had a pet in over a decade, so I’d have to go woth my very first pet as a child: a cat named Oscar. My sister and I went to the store to by diapers on behalf of our mother and came back with a kitten instead! We were magically allowed to keep it until some time later when it was discovered my sister was allergic. 🙁
Dana Nelson says
Ack, my spelling is atrocious! Spellcheck BEFORE posting!!
Ang says
We had a black cat named Cuddles and she was so sweet. She was more like a dog. Followed me around a lot and sat faithfully by my side purr purr purring away. I really miss her.
Kelly Flaherty says
We had a beautiful Siberian Husky at the time my husband had his first stroke. She was just a pet, well trained and very loving. Three weeks after he came home from the hospital she came running down the stairs barking, howling and jumping on me. She had never behaved like this before so I followed her back up the stairs and my husband was in bed struggling to breath. I called 911 and after he examined by the doctors, we were told his aortic valve was disintegrating and needed to be replaced immediately. Had we waited another day or two he would have died. She saved his life and mine as I could not be without him. He is the love of my life and Mya saved him for me. Although she has since died, her pictures are everywhere, the grandchildren that never met her, know all about her and she will always be our special girl.

We were fortunate to spend 9 short years with Duke a golden retriever. He was the most wonderful dog, he knew just what each of us needed every day- a walk, a paw to hold, a game of tug or a long walk in the woods. We are blessed to share Charlie’s life currently, also a golden. He is perfect in every way, and honestly he is the happiest pup I have ever seen!

Auggie, the sweetest Toy Fox Terrier. Love her to pieces. We run together, & cuddle together. She stayed by my side for comfort when I had pneumonia. I love buying her play toys.
Rebecca B. from FL says
We have always enjoyed all our pets equally so it is hard to pick a favorite. Great release this month, PTI!
Sandy C. says
It’s hard to pick a best or favorite. All my pets have been wonderful and have provided me with great memories thru out my life. I only have one pet now, and since he is the one still with me, he must be my fav. He is Altivo, a sweet Paso Fino horse who is now 29. I have owned him for 27 years. He safely carried me many many miles. We had so much fun. He is retired now and I still take him for walks most days to keep him fit (and me too) and interested in the world.
mary t says
my favourite pet is Ray – a friends rescue dog (old, blind, deaf, broken jaw etc) but Ray was the best cuddler in the world.
If i had a bad day at work, i popped by, took him for a short walk and lapped up all the affection he offered.
R. Hill says
I’ve had dogs all my life, and I guess our best dog was (tough choice here!) either Rosie our Queensland heeler or Seymour our blind yellow Lab. They were both absolutely wonderful and loved everyone; never had to worry with kids or strangers. We still miss them both terribly!
TracyK says
I’ve never had a pet – just not a big animal person. My sisters have had dogs, and I’ve enjoyed them. Only one dog left now, Peanut, who has a fun personality. She’s part beagle and the rest, well, who knows? She’s every dog.
Loly Borda says
I’m not an animal person myself, but being the 5th among 6 animal lover siblings, I grew up surrounded by all kinds of pets. My favorite were two that belonged to my mother, one was a toucan and a German shepherd called Cling because he was always following us everywhere in the house. Thanks for the chance and for the opportunity to bring back sweet memories
Heather Mills says
My best pet was my sweet kittie, Adonis, that I just had to put down last month after having him nearly 18 years! He was very lovey and snuggly, not standoffish like cats can be, and he would have been perfectly happy to sit in your lap or lay on your stomach ALL day long. I miss him. : (
Ann. Bin. says
My pet was “Amanda”. A lovely cat who (sometimes) forgot that she was a cat and behaved like a loyal dog …
Carmela says
The best pet I have had was our German Short Haired Pointer. Very faithful and great companion for my two boys. We were sad when she died a couple years ago.
Cynthia says
Due to family/roommate allergies, my first pet was a goldfish when I was by myself for the first time in grad school. I named her Fluffy and set her up in a bowl with turquoise gravel, a fern, and a castle. She was white with an orange circle over her face, and she offered soothing company in stressful times! She looked quite similar to Cleo in Pinocchio!!
Beth M. says
My puggies- they were my babies and I miss them every day.
Jan says
Maggie, the dog, actually belonged to my daughter and her family. She had a sweet disposition and always greeted us with excited enthusiasm and unconditional love. She’s gone now and their house still doesn’t seem quite right without her.
LindaM says
That’s a hard one since I have had pets all my life. However we adopted a 7 year old collie lab mix from the humane society and he was the most gentlest, well behaved dog we ever had. He was a very gentle soul.
Magme says
We’ve always had dogs in our home. Currently a miniature Golden named Happy. He is a real character and my new favorite. I do miss my little dogs. 40lbs just isn’t a good lapdog.
Es em says
My cat Bao is so affectionate and sweet. He loves to be cuddled and pet. We love him.
Catherine Milne says
Our best pet was Sparky, a basset beagle mix. EVERYBODY and I mean EVERYBODY just loved him. People would ask us when we were going out of town as they wanted to pet sit him. He went lots of places with us and was an excellent traveler, great with other dogs and well-mannered on outdoor patio restaurants. It’s been several years now since he died. He was one great dog.
Karyn S says
I cannot pick a favorite. I have had many cats and each one was so special in its own way. One I miss is Buddy as he went to live with someone else when he was still fairly young. Miss him and all of them.
Cherie says
I’d have to say my cat Odin. He was a scottish fold that brought so many funny and memorable moments to my life.
Tami B says
I feel I am betraying some of my pets by choosing a favorite since I have had so many great ones, but my English Springer, Odie, that I had for 15 1/2 years was SOME kind of special.
Barbara Schmidt says
The best pet I had was a black, loving fluffy cat named Puff. As a kitten he would try to attack us as we walked downstairs. You had to really watch your steps!
Mutzy Mia says
The best pet we ever had was a huskie named Maggie. She lived to be 17 1/2, was the runt of the litter and only weighed 40lbs. She loved her walks every day and I loved taking her on those walks. She passed away 5 years ago so now when I go on those walks I bring little dog bones for all the neighborhood dogs.
josiane says
Like many people of Chinese descent, my favorite animal is the panda. So adorable! I really like penguins too – something about black and white animals? 🙂
Amy says
I’ve had so many pets- each special in their own way.
Connie G says
My favorite pet was a dog named rusty. He was a stray and walked into our yard and right into our hearts. He was a Weimaraner. Great release guys!!!
Becky P. says
The best pet I have ever had is my cat Ellie. She is the sweetest thing. She talks to us every morning, is so patient with my kids and really takes care of all of us.
Sue L says
My kitty Penelope was the best pet I’ve ever had. She was a stray who wandered up to my house when she was just a few weeks old and I had her for 17 years.
Penny J says
A year after we were married my husband bought us a Papillon. I wasn’t even sure I wanted him or liked him. He was such a scrawny little thing with big ears! What a cutie he was though and so small he fit in the cup of your hand. He was the best gift my husband ever gave me!! Such a sweet little thing with a great personality all his own, the easiest ever to train, so loyal and loveable. Not hard to tell he stole my heart! For 15 years the two of us were together pretty much 24/7. We lost him to kidney disease 7 years again and he is still missed every single day. At the time, my husband had a customer who was an artist and the year we lost our little doggie he asked if she would paint a picture of him. It was my Christmas gift that year delivered at 6:30pm on Christmas Eve and still wet! Second best gift my husband ever gave me!! I bawled like a baby when I saw the painting.
Peggy S says
I loved all our pets dearly, but our dog Kiku was extra special. She was always loving and good natured.
Hlee says
I’ve never had a pet, but I keep telling my husband that someday he’s going to walk into the house and be a proud owner of a Siberian Husky. I think huskies are beautiful. I can’t wait to get one, but I’m slowly trying to convince him.
Lorraine says
Best pet is our little chihuahua Rosebud! She’s little, but she’s got a huge personality. Loving, sweet, and naughty at times, LOL. Cutest thing ever. Can’t imagine life without her.
Linda E (uncbballfan) says
The best pet I’ve ever had I still have – a Maltepoo named Toby. He’s my little heart-mender and my joy-bringer. He’s able to sense when I’m sad and puts on a show with his antics until I’m laughing helplessly. He has helped get me through some of the most terrible times of my life.
Pauline T. says
I used to cat sit a sweet kitty named Sophie. She was grey with white socks and pink paw pads. She would come when you called her.
Mary Sue Bancroft says
The best pet I ever had are my Mini-Schnauzers. They are 11.5 and are amazing. They are litter mates and have never been apart. One is totally blind but she doesn’t let it stop her from doing whatever she wants. And, her sister likes to talk alot. Highly recommend this breed to anyone who wants a hair free home and hypoallergenic dog.
LaFaunB says
Not a pet or animal person, but baby animals are the cutest!
Kay says
That’s a hard question as I am an animal lover. I would probably have to say my little Cockatiel that I had for many years. He loved everybody! Loved to take a shower and just sit in whatever room you were in and chatter away.
Thanks for such a fabulous release!
Anne B says
The best pet I’ve ever had is the cat I have currently. Her name is Tortie and she’s a former stray who adopted me several years ago. She’s been with me through some of the toughest transitions in my life, including my Mum’s death 5 1/2 years ago, and I couldn’t have done it without her!
GinaEgg says
I currently do not have a pet, unless dust bunnies count. 🙂 But, when my husband and I were first married, we had a litterbox-trained bunny named Bart. She slept on my pillow, would come when we called her – and was the sweetest little thing! I would have another bunny as a pet in a heartbeat!
Carolyn says
My best pet is the sweet little puppy we recently welcomed into our home. She is a more rare and unusual breed in the US called a Russian Tsvetnsya Bolonka or just Bolonka. Her name is Kaya. She is little, affectionate and nice to have around s plus she does not shed and is hypoallergenic.
Leah says
Timely question, our family just had to put to sleep our beloved Sharpei, Mudslide, just yesterday. She was the sweetest! She grew up with myself and 3 of my sisters and her favorite thing was smelling our wet, freshly showered hair. I know that’s silly but still a wonderful memory! Thanks for the chance to share!
Leah
Carrie in IN says
I had to give up my cat when my mother remarried. A year later they gave me a kitten at Christmas. I was 10 years old. We grew up together and she even stayed with me during college when landlords would allow it. I loved that she could stay with me forever when I graduated, and she moved with me into my first home. She was by my side through the pains of dating and would comfort me whenever I was upset. If I took a nap on the couch, she would curl up right on my back to nap with me. I could go on and on about her. She was the best cat ever and I will miss her always.
Gay Ferland says
The best pets I had were two Manx cats. April & Pebbles. They were unique because they were born with no tails. I love those two, they always slept with me on my bed.
Paula Fuller says
I have had many dogs throughout my life and loved them all, but my fondest memories are of Samantha. She was a rescue, and always seemed to know it. Our kids were teenagers when we got her and Sammy was still with us after the kids had moved out. Sammy and I were closest after I retired and we had the best walks together. She was the largest dog I ever had and the most gentle. We were best friends in every way.
Michele W says
My favorite pet was Rags, the dog we got when I was 16. She was a mutt but you couldn’t ask for someone with a better temperament to add to out large (I’m the oldest of 9), rambunctious family. She was so patient with the little ones no matter what they did to her and when one of my brothers died unexpectedly it was as if she knew and she did her best to comfort all of us. She was a beautiful creature with a huge loving heart and I will never forget her.
craftingwithfriends@gmail.com says
I’ve had so many pets…from goats, ducks, chickens, turkeys, cats, dogs, it is hard for me to pick a favorite. I guess I would have to say my current little dog is my favorite right now.
Jessicak says
My first pet is still my favorite one. little Chinese hamster, Hammy (very original i know). He loved snacking on popcorn with me and cuddling up on the table to watch tv.
LeanneS says
Love this release too. My wishlist at PTI is always full. Wish I could buy to my heart’s content.
Love dogs though I was bitten by one. Had a pet named him Bruno as he was brown, but soon I had to move for further studies & my mum gave him away as she could not look after him.
Pati L says
My best pet was my dog named Sissy! She was always ready and excited to go somewhere, a walk, a hike or a drive. She got me outdoors. On cloudy, chilly, rainy days she’d run outside then turn around like “you coming out?” Or she’d stand beside me looking out the open door then look up at me like “you going out there?” If I started to close the door and it was obvious I wasn’t going out, she’d come running back in. But if I headed out, then alrighty, let’s go! She never got the idea that “fetch” meant bring it back (or did she). Her game was to run to it then try to get me to come get it too so she could play keep away with it. 🙂
Audrey says
My favorite animal is a dog, they are so loyal and make wonderful companions.
mary lewis says
My favorite pet is my current dog Teddy. He is the most loving sweet and smart dog I have ever owned. He is my little side kick, he follows where ever I go. I just love him to bits.
Rema DeLeeuw says
The best pet I’ve ever had is my Jack Russell Terrier Cosmo. He is almost 16 years old and I love him dearly. He truly is my best friend.
Maria C F says
I don’t have a pet but I love dogs.
Susan from Colorado says
I’ve had so many pets in my life and my best one is always the one I have right not. He is a fun, full of energy, wild and crazy, cuddly-snuggley mini Schnauzer name MR. Darcy. I love every hairy inch of him and I know he loves me back. He fills our lives with joy!
Kylie Z says
For some reason, I love pigs!
Rebecca Ednie says
My best pet ever is my cat Jesse. He wants me to pet him so much that even when he is hungry in the morning, I give him his food, he’ll ignore it to snuggle with me! He’s more like a dog than a cat!
María Alba Negrón says
This one is so difficult for me, because I am not a pet lover. Don’t judge me I was born this way! However i have photos when I was a baby toddler holding in a blanket a small
white chicken ( we called the in Puerto Rico Quiquiriqui. And my Mother told me that I used to sit in a rocking chair and sing to it. However they had to take him away from me because I would place him in a blanket and smother her and when Mom came to see what I was doing, she lifted the blanket and the poor thing was almost dead!
I think that is the reason, however I don’t harm them and don’t let anyone harm them.
I prefer to spend time with humans!
Sharon D says
The best pet I ever had was a sweet cat named Toby. He was a stray who showed up, and he was the best cat I have ever known. I loved him, and he loved me. He followed me everywhere and brought me daily joy and love and laughter. I grew up having cats, but my husband did not–but Toby won him over.
Jane says
My black labrador retriever named April Sunshine. I trained her to come to the front window and bark when my husband fell out of his wheelchair when he was outside. She was very sweet and concerned about my husband and became his constant companion when I was gone. I miss her and him as they have since passed.
Jill A says
My little Min Pin was the best little dog I have ever had. His name was Zinger–he was my little velcro dog. He loved to go go go and enjoyed traveling with us. We sure do miss that little guy!!!!
Jill S says
We’ve had 5 cats in my adult, married life. I have loved them all but to pick 1, I’d have to say inmate #4 Tiger Lily. Lily is a bit skittish and sometimes schizophrenic, but she is definitely genuine. She has slept next to me every night since the Mister went away to school and is there every morning when I wake up. A true friend.
lisa808 says
My favorite best pet ever is Harry, a Jack Russell Terrier. He is smart and loving.
Dana W says
No way can I pick just one, I have had two ferrets, both at different times and they both have a special place in my heart! I first got Mellie when I was 16 and she was my darling, BUT she didn’t give kisses. A year or so after she passed (they live about 8-9 years) I got Myra, she was a tough cookie BUT she gave kisses! I miss them both and one day when I have a full time job again I will get another ferret (or maybe even two at once) that will steal my heart again!
Sue says
All the amazing pets I have owned have brought such joy to my life. I have had cats and dogs. They love you unconditionally and pick you up when you are having a down day. They are simply priceless members of my family.
sivan fridman says
My best pet is my cat, Tula. She is fluffy and seeet and lets my kids play with her.
Carol Steedman says
Our best pet was a rescued squirrel called Nutkin. Nutkin adored my son who rescued him and eventually we were able to release him back to the wild. He always came back to see us though and could often be seen perched on my son’s shoulder, being hand fed peanuts.
Jessica Monte says
When we moved in to our house in 2000. Our 1st Christmas in our new house my dad coaxed in a dog by feeding it ham and turkey. We weren’t sure if we were going to keep her but we did and it turned out she was the best dog we’ve ever had. In 2003 we had our daughter and she would watch over her like Nan did in Peter Pan. She died 5 years ago. We miss her to this day. I love cats and Dogs.
Noelle says
My mom had a calico cat – Pumpkin – before us. But we got to know her too. She was a smart cat, no litter box, would come wake us up in the am, only had two kittens. She was lovey – but not too lovey. Perfect pet cat!
Holly Saveur says
They all are!!
LOVED them..and still do!
Cindy says
My best pet was my only pet, a dog named Boomer (my brother had allergies growing up, so we could never have pets when I was a kid). Boomer was a treasure and is greatly missed by our family.❤
Susan W. says
A black and white tuxedo cat named Tarzan has been my favorite cat thus far. He was MY cat and followed me everywhere. He knew when I was sick or didn’t feel well and would come sit beside me. Unfortunately, I had to put him down this past January due to kidney disease. He was almost 18 years old. I miss him very much.
Rebecca Attwood says
I was given a goldfish by my Uncle John when I was 4 and we named him “John the fish” (to differentiate from John the Uncle!) and he lived for 5 years which is the longest I’ve ever had any pet in my life. It probably says a lot about my personality that I prefer a pet I can watch rather than touch!
Marilou S. says
The BEST pet ever was our Tricolor Beagle named Daisy. She recently passed and the whole in our hearts is quite large. She never barked or howled (I know you are thinking was she really a beagle?). She never went on furniture or up or down the stairs. She had the sweetest eyes and was so good with all 4 of our kids. She did not have any favorites and would go to any of us that were having a bad day and cheer us up. All of our neighbors wanted a dog just like her. So many would say that she needed to be cloned! We miss her terribly.
Janell Rink says
I like dogs.
Stephanie Anne says
The best pet I have ever had is my dog Kaycee. She is a chocolate lab and a real sweetheart. I can’t imagine my life without her. She was a gift for my sons 8th birthday but she loves me the most since I am the one who feeds her and takes care of all her needs. She is very devoted to me but she likes most people, but not other dogs so much. She is part of our family.
Penny Lindamood says
My dog is Tarheel. He is a soft Wheaton terrier. Such and wonderful and loyal pet! Best ever
Kirsty Vittetoe says
Oh without a doubt, my favorite pet is my poodle named Papillion, he is my best friend!
Cindy Thompson says
My dog Ruby acts like she owns my husband. She will see us hugging and come running so that she can be close to my husband. She will wiggle herself in between the two of us and if she cannot get in she will start to bark. We just laugh and then let her snuggle up against my husband.
Marilyn in Michigan says
That’s like trying to pick a favorite child! Loved them all.
marcy says
Addie, our beagle. She could not help running away at each opportunity because that is what hunting dogs do! We miss her!
Barbara Howell says
My best pet was a cat named Tennessee. We had him for 17 years and he was very loving and cuddly but also mischievous especially opening doors. He could wrap his paw around a round door knob and open a closed door.
JosieDee says
I really only had one pet, a calico cat named Patches. She was very sweet and she loved to climb up on my lap to be petted. I still can remember her deep purring while she sat, so contented to be held!
Lisa K says
I’ve had a couple of pets that are unforgettable. When I was young, my family had a Doberman named Tasha. She has been my one and only dog (once you’ve had the best, you just can’t get another quite as good). The other pet is my current kitty named Josie. She thinks she is a dog. She runs to greet me at the door, purrs like a Harley Davidson, cuddles with me and gives me unconditional love. Just 6 pounds of furry love. 🙂
Kris says
Golden Retrievers Simon and Clayton…12 years each…best dogs ever. Can’t forget the goldfish Gus that the kids won at our county fair who lived for 8 years. What fish in a little bowl lives that long?!?!?
Terri (Blindstamper) says
All of my dogs have been awesome, but as a child, growing up on a dairy farm, we had a short haired border collie. That dog was super smart and very protective of us…plus, we could send HIM out to get the cows in at milking time…and he did a great job.
Susan Nichols says
Wow, that is a tough one as we have had many cats and dogs, nothing more exotic. They were all very close to my heart. So, I don’t know if she was “the best”, but she was unique – Weebles. Weebles was a long haired black kitten that we found abandoned. She was still very tiny and her little tummy was round and hard as a rock. We named her Weebles ’cause “Weebles wobble but they don’t fall down”! I had to bottle feed her until she could eat solid food. I think she thought I was her mommy. She would curl up on my neck and “nurse”. I had the tiniest little kitty hickies!
Marcia Hill says
Brinkley. He’s a Cockapoo and 12 years old now. We’ve had him since he was 6 weeks old and he’s a gem! He has brought SO much joy to our whole family and it’s hard to watch him aging now…just love, love, LOVE that boy!! :0)
betsy l says
Growing up, my family had lots of pets. Favorite was definitely our little shitsu. She was so cute! The little fluff ball is super afraid of the radio but loves watching the TV with us.
keith manley says
a dashound named Mopsey
Cindy C says
Our black lab Digger. We had him put down in 2010 when my kids were 5 & 7. It was the hardest thing we ever had to do. My kids still talk about him on almost a daily basis….he was an amazing dog & protector of my kids!
Annie D says
I have always loved cats and yet married a dear man allergic to them. So my favorite pet was before marriage – a cat named Dickens whom my family picked out as a kitten. My father loved to say “where the Dickens is that cat?” and to sing “here come Dickens…” to the tune of “Here Comes Santa Claus…” I felt special to be chosen by Daddy to hold Dickens in the car when we took him each year for his vet visit which scared the dickens out of him. We four kids sneaked Dickens out of the house to pose with us for a surprise portrait as a gift for our parents’ 25th anniversary. Many years later, Daddy wrote of that portrait being one of the 3 most special gifts he ever received.
Sandy redman says
My best pet was my dog, Daisy. She followed me everywhere and was my best buddy. I’ve been without her for two years now and I still think I feel her by my leg at times or laying at the bottom of the bed. MIss her lots!
Vicki Smith says
The best pet was my beautiful Pekingese dog that was the light of my life. She was the sweetest dog I ever had. We had a fruit and vegetable garden and she would go pick a boysenberry off the bush and eat it. She also liked to eat a carrot after it came out of the ground. She’s gone now but I miss her terribly!
Carol Ann Ater says
First Siamese cat was adopted by my parents when I was 2 years old. We were living in Salem MA during WWII. Cocoa had been the queen of Treetops and all her kittens were seal points. At 6 years of age she was now too old so my family became the proud pet servants. Cocoa was an apple faced seal point with a kink in her tail. She slept with me all the rest of her wonderful 19 years. I had no siblings but Cocoa was my baby all those years.
I have loved 5 more long-lived Siamese kitties and never wish to be without one. Currently, Sterling is reigning after Ming Toy , Ming Too, Ting a Ling, and Cocoa II
Heather says
My best pet was my dog Cinder. He was a collie & shepherd mix; and was super gentle. When I was a toddler, he would just let me crawl all over him! He was always happy to see me; and I miss him. There has never been another.
Stella says
It’s hard to choose which of my pets is my favorite because they’ve all been loved so much. Right now, we have a white German shepherd. His name is Gideon. We have Sugar and she’s also white and a lab and pit bull mix . She’s the sweetest dog in the world. And then we have our chihuahua, Lulu. She’s the alpha dog and quiet bossy. Just can’t pick a favorite, they all all very special.
Janet W says
My best pet? Every.single.one. Choose one? It would be like having to choose my favorite child – impossible. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to share my home with so many wonderful dogs and cats over the years; and although there are a couple that will always be closest to my heart, I am so happy to have had all of them in my life.
Jennifer Thompson says
My best pet was my dog Chevy- a ruby Cockalier (Cocker Spaniel/Cavalier King Charles Spaniel). He was such a sweet dog, and I think he prevented a fire in the house. I had a pan of oil on the stove and got distracted doing something else. Chevy started barking, looking at the stove. My hero dog.
He liked to carry his leash in his mouth. He would also walk my friends dashound, by carrying his leash in his mouth.
Paula Collins says
All my dogs I have had through the years! I loved them all.
Cynthia B. says
I’ve only ever had one pet, Lucy, and she’s sitting across the room from me right now…she’s napping (typical) by the window, hoping to see my son or husband drive up. She’s the sweetest little mix of a dog – part border collie, corgi, some people say Australian shepherd… We found her at the shelter when she was a year old. She started licking our hands, and we knew she was ours. She’s been with us 3 years now, and she’s the best!
Kathie B says
We never had much in the way of pets in the house when we were growing up. So I’ll go with favorite animal. I am a huge fan of moose. I’ve never seen one in real life but I hope to do so some day when I’m visiting northern New England.
Johanna M says
We had a schnauzer when I was a kid. He was a happy fellow, and the only pet I’ve had apart from some fish in a tank.
Christine Page says
Our best pet so far is our cat Greyson. Greyson is an adventurer-loves the outdoors. He would take off for a day or two but always come back to eat and rest. Last summer, however, he took off for SEVEN MONTHS! He just showed up on our doorstep this past February looking no worse for wear! We only wish he was able to tell us about his travels!!
Susi says
Every pet I’ve ever owned has been special in their own way – I’ve loved them all. However, as we recently lost an amazing male Red Irish Setter, my thoughts immediately went to him and all the joy he brought into our lives. We miss him so!
Shelly says
We have a cat now that is a great pet. He only really cries when he is hungry.
Nancy Alletag says
My best pet was a cat named Pup. We called him Pup because he behaved just like a dog. He came when you called and fetched things. He had a powder puff instead of a tail so we also called him Bunny Butt.
Karen Jones says
My horse, Clyde was by best buddie! I still think of him often.
Corinna says
My one and only pet was Sierra Bravo, a beautiful stray cat that transformed me into a cat lover. I named her Sierra Bravo because her coloring was a beautiful sierra color and she was such a strong and brave little stray. I had to leave her in Seattle with family since my move to Orlando wasn’t going to allow me to keep her. I have cried, like I am now, just thinking of all the love and joy she gave me at some of my happiest and loneliest moments. Great Question Nichole!
Michelle Benoit says
My most favorite pet was a black & white english setter my Dad had when I was little. That wonderful dog, Lady was so gentle and patient.
Sue McRae says
We had a tabby cat named Merlin, that we adopted while living in Germany. Merlin got to travel around the world with us and was an amazing kitty!
Valerie D. says
I really loved my orange and white hamster named Pumpkin Butter! I would take him to class with me when I was in college. He’d sleep all day and keep me company at night while I was up studying and writing papers. LOL! I sure miss him!
Mary Lou Kemp says
My best pet I ever had was the sweetest grey cat we called KitKat…..she wanted to be around us all the time and we could love on her as much as we wanted. Anyone who has ever had a cat knows that generally speaking they let you love on them at their convenience and usually not for long. I had KitKat for 18 years….a long life for a cat. Still miss her even though she has been gone for a long time!
Malyssa M. says
I’ve had dogs my entire life and each one was so different and had their own personalities and quirks! So to pick the best one would be near impossible. So I’ll go with my current 2 – a Jack Russell, Maggie & a yorkshire terrier Zoe. We just lost our Mom a few months ago and they’ve been troopers through all the changes we’re going through!
Summer Hawke says
My favorite pet is our cat, Tucker. He is a sweet old guy, and loves to cuddle.
Kim Badelt says
My husband and I got a chocolate Burmese just after we were married and that crazy little boy, who we called Ramses, stole our hearts. He was basically our first child. In his final years all he wanted was cuddles. he wouldn’t take no for an answer. Laptop on your lap? no worries I can fit in there as well! We miss him so very much.
Jennifer L. says
My best pet is our new puppy. He’s a super sweet rescue who has brought lots of love to our home.
Liz R says
Growing up we had a pet hen, called Daisy. And a cat called Fluffy. Daisy thought she was a human! And followed us everywhere.

Our best pet was a cat named Holly. She was a feral cat who we tried to tame – didn’t work. She needed to be outside and loved all the cats and dogs in the neighborhood. She would go up and greet each one. Unfortunately that was her demise. She got too friendly with a wild coyote and that was it. Such a sad day when we lost her.
Jo R. says
My childhood dog Spook was so much fun. We taught him to play hide and seek with us. One of us would cover his eyes and the rest of us would run and hide, then he would find us, one by one. The memory still brings a smile to my face.
Betty N says
My favourite pet was my miniature apricot poodle, Quincy. He was extremely affectionate and I loved him dearly. Unfortunately, the people looking after him lost him when I was on holidays. That was almost nine years ago, yet it still hurts when I think about it.
Debbie says
My Doberman pinscher, Katie. She could be a handful at times, but I could not ask for a more faithful companion. She wasn’t happy unless she was “touching” you, be it sitting on your foot, putting her paw on your leg when you were sitting or leaning against you with all her weight! Miss her so much!
Joan K says
We named our dog Lucky because we rescued him from the shelter, but then he was such a great pet for us that we decided we were the lucky ones! He was a collie and the kids in the neighborhood all called him Lassie (who remembers Lassie, right?)! I recall one of the neighborhood kids as a toddler taking a nap laying on Lucky in the shade of the deck. Thanks for a chance to share great memories!

My best pet has been all of my kitties! Most of them were feral cats that I started feeding and as they slowly began to overcome their fear of humans I could begin to pet them. Then eventually I was able to bring them home to live with me. They have been the best and most loving kitties ever!

My best pet is my dog, Mia, who is a rescue. When she gets excited (which is any time someone comes in the house), she wags her tail so hard that the entire lower half of her body wags.

My best pet was our dog Tucker. He had such a personality. If you have seen the move A dog’s purpose my Tucker was just like Bailey. So mischievous and funny. He loved life and was always a happy happy boy. He left us way too early unfortunately. But I know he is frolicking across the Rainbow Bridge.
Margaret Ross says
It’s actually my son’s cat. He’s more like a dog, than a cat. He always makes me laugh. Loves hide’n’seek, chases balls, walks on a lead. He jumps into his box and pulls out his toys. Plays tag up and down the staircase. He’s such a joy!
Marybeth says
I am going to say the dog we have right now for the last 9 years, our German Shepard : Major! He is wonderful with all the grandchildren as well and has appointed himself resident LIFE GUARD! When the 12 grandchildren leave needles to say he is very tired!

My best pet was my first cat, Kes. She was a big and beautiful Maine Coon. Like many Maine Coons, she loved to talk. She made so many different sounds, but my favourite was her hello chirp. She recognized my footsteps, so when I put my key in the lock, she would chirp. It really made me aware that there was someone there to greet me!

My best pet was my Westie, Jack. I had to put him down last October. I miss him so much when I look out my kitchen window or just driving into my garage. He was my little buddy. 🙁

I can’t pick just one as being the best pet I have ever had, all of my fur babies have been awesome and each one having their own unique personalities. I currently have a yellow lab named Samantha, who is a sweet lovable girl. Before Samantha I had a yellow lab named Teddy. He was a big lovable Teddy Bear and I miss him everyday. Then their is Max my little lovable loyal Dachshund who I lost a little over a year ago. They all have brought a ton of love and joy to our home, can’t imagine my life without any of them.

The best pet I have ever had is my rescued black lab that I have now. He had some trust issues when we first adopted him 6 years ago, and it has been wonderful seeing him grow and change into a beautiful, loyal and trustworthy pet. He is definitely my “best bud”. Sadly, he has cancer and will not be with us much longer but knowing that I have given him a good life is the best reward.

I’ve had some wonderful pets over the years but I think I’d have to say that my favorite is probably the dog we have right now. He’s a Golden Lab and German Shepard mix and absolutely loves to play fetch! He’s full of energy, playful and is just silly at times. He has been part of our family a little over 5 years. We adopted him from the local animal shelter.

She was unable to run because of the disease, despite medication. She was the Best dog. I had a cat who had diabetes. She received insulin shots and had to have her blood sugar checked. She was the best cat. It is so easy to get attached and you can tell they know you care.

The best pet I’ve ever had is the dog I have now. Lizzie is a Springer Spaniel and she is the most adorable dog with the sweetest personality. She smiles so wide, but has the worst teeth, so it is the silliest thing I’ve ever seen! She also is a fetch-a-holic and will play nonstop. Everyone who meets her falls in love with her. You just can’t help but love this little girl! She truly has brought so much to our lives. Funny how a furry little animal can do that!

I am very much an animal person, with no current animals but so many in the past. Without discrediting any of my long list of pets, I cannot narrow to one, but will contain to three. First thought is my German Shepherd, Boots Beauty, an intelligent, knowing, inciteful dog by any standards, then Golden Boy, a mischievous, “gate cracker” palomino pony. He would go anywhere, anytime, no questions asked, and last is my calico cat, Heidi, better known as “Fatty” (but she wasn’t), she was my “healing cat”. Anyone sick, she would just cuddle up to them and purr . . . I talk about these pets in the present tense, long gone, but still near and dear.

This question is (scary) ironic. By far, my best pet ever has been Earl, our yellow lab. He has been a loving friend for 15 years and was happiest taking walks, playing with his Dad (my husband) and making me laugh. Today was the day we had to say goodbye to him, and I miss him so much already. Love you, Earl.
MaryB says
My favorite pet still lives with us. In 2001, we adopted a tiny kitten who had been abandoned at a business. While we were at the Humane Society, he licked our toes, so maybe he adopted us. Since then, he has been the most loving cat, always ready for a rubdown or head scratch. He followed my daughter around, and slept right up next to her. Then she abandoned him and went off to college. So now he follows me around…

I’d have to say the dog I have now but it’s really a trick question since all my pets were my favorite in some way. I have a schnoodle right now and she is my best friend and companion since my husband passed away and my daughter lives out of state. She sleeps with me and actually spoons with me and I love it! She means so much to me! Love you Kenzie!

The best pet I’ve ever had is Autumn who we rescued/adopted 1 1/2 years ago. She was approximately 4 when we adopted her and had been dumped off and on her own for several weeks. She had puppies recently and was in the process of drying up. No one wanted to adopt her because she was an older, larger dog (boxer and golden retriever). I’ve always had dogs in my life and it had been a year since our daughter moved and took her dog with her. Autumn was the favorite at the Humane Society and had been there a month. The moment I saw her I knew she was mine, but my husband who loves dogs didn’t want another. I finally convinced him that he would love her the first moment he saw her and he did! He loves her and has to take her in the truck whenever he goes somewhere (LOL, he didn’t want a dog!). I always say our past dogs, who have been certified therapy dogs brought many smiles to patients at a local hospital. Although she is not certified she is my therapy dog! She brings us so much joy and yet every day she shows us how much she loves her new home and her new life.
Sandy M says
My favorite pet was a chicken I called Lucy. When she was just a few days old our cat caught her head through the cage and it broke her neck. She recovered but her broken neck left her with her head angled to the left and she ate between her legs. She became very tame and would jump up in my lap in the evenings when I sat on the porch and stay until I carried her to the chicken coop at dusk. She was a neighbor kids’ favorite and they all called her when they found a tasty bug. She knew her name and would come running
