2009 was a year full of memorable headline news…
In April of this exciting year British television viewers watched a middle-aged Scottish woman astonish a live audience (and difficult-to-impress judge Simon Cowell) with a rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" on Britain's Got Talent. Days later, YouTube users in the U.S. and elsewhere around the world wept for joy at Susan Boyle's storybook success of the simple woman with the bushy eyebrows and crystal-clear voice.

The death of the "King of Pop", Michael Jackson, brings worldwide outpourings of grief. He is considered one of the most successful entertainers of all time. His career began in 1964 as the lead singer and youngest member of The Jackson 5. His 1982 album Thriller remains the best-selling album of all time.
It took Captain Chesley (Sully) Sullenberger less than five minutes to become a hero. On Jan. 15, Sullenberger saved the lives of all 155 passengers aboard the U.S. Airways Airbus A320 he was flying. After birds hit the engines of Flight 1549 less than two minutes after takeoff and the plane lost power, the former Air Force pilot cooly told passengers to "brace for impact" and landed the aircraft in the Hudson River.

Dawn says, "Damask Designs holds a special place in my heart as it's the first stamp set I ever designed back in 2008. It came out in the February Anniversary release in 2009 and I was soooo nervous and excited! Many of you fell in love with the set and used it as much as I did! I have always loved being able to create my own custom backgrounds and this set allows you to do just that. With the addition of new tools over the years, like the MISTI, it makes it even easier to try out fun techniques with old and new sets alike! I had a lot of fun adding a bit of an ombre flare to my beloved damask! Come see!"

Life is probably one of my very favorite sets. Love the clean and simple, to very elegant you can do with this set. And, Tree Trimmings is still one of my most loved Christmas sets. But there are so many great sets from that year. All the tag sets are wonderful and I still enjoy playing with those. The newer Polka Dot Basics, which I love and use them all.
So many of the older sets have gone to the vault, so I would be hard pressed to get rid of anything for fear I would miss it too much and have to repurchase! If I did get rid of anything, it would have to be something that I just could not make work for me.:)

Thanks Nichole and all for all you do to make stamping classy and fun! 🙂
